Decent troll level. Great job, Ryu. For future reference, "benevolent" connotes no back-to-CP1 setup involved, and is sometimes used to describe lack of anti-softlocks, both of which this level fulfilled.
@@youtubenightcrawler9571 that's an oversight, and kinda the player's fault to some degree. Anti-softlock refers to the "takes effort to die" scenario where you're shoved into an annoying minigame to kill Mario. So you can get back to the previous CP.

There are certain scenarios where they're intentional, but you have to be a savant of level design or you have to be very obvious in demonstrating that it's part of the storytelling of the level. So it's not prohibited, per se, but it's frowned upon to carelessly include them.
Honestly troll levels like this are some of the most fun (to watch, I've never played MM); every turn is surprising and crafty and the whole experience is like a pseudo puzzle.
The most hilarious thing is like at 10:30 when Ryu (or whoever) dodges a troll then they go into this delusional and jokey state of thinking they're the best when they're only riding the crest of the false sense of security.
I hope he makes more dedicated troll level videos in the future. Ryu is awesome and it's always been a sad thing that he wasn't interested in the most fun part of SMM2. I hope he finds the Curated Trolls website and gets hooked :D

It's always a lot of fun because you're an amazing player but are not used to troll levels so you do some things that streamers like Carl and DGR wouldn't do and that's refreshing. Also, when you're playing a well done troll level, don't go around jumping trying to find hidden stuff because that's not that they do (except for some very specific cases and never to hide a key or something like that). You're more used to playing poorly done troll levels or just hot garbage with hidden stuff that's why your instinct to jump around kicks in. BTW this is a fantastic troll level!

Troll levels are great Ryu! Do more of them! They don’t even have to be this well designed, it’s you we come to see. Watching you battle through a terrible troll level can be just as fun as watching you enjoy a good one.

For some reason I want to see your Ryu's alter-egos come and review your Troll level fails. Bring in special guests(Poo,Barb,Feeney, etc), but they have have to copy your alter-ego form. Nigel-Ryu for example.
That level was crazy! Who thinks this stuff up? Excellent puzzle, but dang, many levels above me. And then to have the strength of will to sit there and play it! Good job! Hey, what happened to that platformer with the little square robot that could pick up different powerups like Mega-Man? Did it just die off or get unpopular all of a sudden? I thought that was going to be the next Mario.
Generally there are two types of trolls, the fun/creative and the brutal/tiring. Would like to see more of the fun ones, but avoid the brutal ones, especially avoid anything marked with a #DGR like the plage, as they tend to suck out your soul like the devil!
_benevolence_, in a good troll level atleast, usually refers to things like _no back to cp1_, _no cp0_, or _no brutal, absolutely soul-crushing antisoftlock_.

In a Troll Level, Benevolent simply means it doesn't send you back to CP1, or make you recollect all the Red Coins.
That's not benevolent, that's just basic decency. Though by troll standards, I suppose it is actually pretty benevolent, now that I think about it.
