So I decided to re-visit an old flame in the Tsukihime manga. Barring Tsukihime Remake, Tsukihime's Best Adaptation is... THE MANGA?! How could that be?!!?!? Well, I'll tell you why!

I had seen the tsukhime anime years before. But the manga is where I fell on love with the story of tsukihime to read the entire vn. And it's well documented that nasu felt the same, on record considering it the perfect "tsukhime" back when it ended(since he considers tsukihime itself arcs story)

I hate the implication that there's a PC version of the remake locked up by Nasu...
Ironic, since the Remake Arcueid route is a bad joke compared to the manga. The only thing the new one really has to offer is Vlov Arkhangel and the OST. Everything else is barely above the OG Arcueid route, which was elevated by the manga so much, one could argue it's superfluous reading the Near Side in the old VN at all and jump straight to Far Side.

And I relate. The remake is good, and I can live with things being obscured from Shiki and the reader, but GOD DAMN IT LET SHIKI GET THE DUB FOR FUCKING ONCE, NASU
As a vn reader the manga is way better than the first route.
The Manga was genuinely so good
Reading shiki's slow descend into madness from looking death in the eyes and his nanaya instincts forcing him to kill
His genuine pain when he thought he was possessed by roa is so human and his love for these small moments in life made him such an enjoyable character
Ciel and akiha were badassess in their own right and oh my God arcuied is such a fantastic character
Still kinda confused about the ending though
I think the ending was trying to achieve the whole "bitter sweet" love thing, but the "I must chain myself away in a castle" stuff served to confuse as it's not as well explained in the context of this manga's adaptation. It makes sense, I suppose, but the execution wasn't where it should be. I wish they would have left that out of the manga and kept it as a bitter sweet romance.
Also yeah, I agree with you on those points as well, the manga is just THAT GOOD.
@@SeaTactics talking about good mangas there is an adaptation of fate/stay night's heaven's feel route in manga form
As of now it's 70 chapters (up to the reveal of medusa's identity in movie 2) with only 60 being translated
I find it as a better adaptation than the movies and should be read first before experiencing them

I was watching otaludaikun's video on Tsukihime lore to prep for playing MBTL, after about 5 minutes in I realized that I wanted to read it. So I paused the video, and went to read the manga.
Eight hours later, I finished reading the tsukihime manga, which is the first manga I ever read the whole way through. It blew me away with how tightly written and satisfying the story is. I have some gripes here and there of course, (mainly with Nero Chaos,) but I overall loved it.
Apparently I picked a good first manga to read.
I love this manga. Arcueid route in the vn was always flawed, but this piece of art just perfected it and is also the best way to experience it... well it was until a couple weeks ago. I've recently finished reading Arcueid route in the remake... kino. Heard that Ciel route is even better, which is good, because problem with Ciel route in the og was that it was basically Arcueid's route with a few changes.
This is what I heard, which is why I started on Akiha's route. I'll just read the rest about Ciel afterwards on the internet... though as I say that it's been a handful of months since I started Akiha's route... I really need to get back to it and finish it up.

Edit: Wait hol up... you haven't finished far side routes yet? That explains everything... Well, to sum it up there is a reason why there's so much r*pe and sex in Tsukihime... I won't spoil it, but you know when you know.

Ciel's route in the OG still has a decent amount of new lore and plot twists which IMO makes it worth it in spite of the fact that the first 1/4 of the route is pretty much the same. I was going to skip it and go on to Akiha's route initially, but I decided to stick it through, and after reading it, I honestly don't know why anyone says to skip it, I actually preferred it to Arc's route. I read the manga a while ago and thought it was amazing, and it's a mixture of elements from both of the Near Side routes, so yeah, probably just reading about Ciel's route through a wiki is fine since you've read that.
@Snake Eraser What I mostly consider flawed in the og version of Arcueid's route is the writing... and that aspect is fixed in the remake, that's all I need. Nasu's writing skills improved immensely during these 20 years and you can see that. I don't need changes to the already good story, just give me the same thing but better... and they did that.
And also, you say that manga expanded on the elements from the other routes and that makes it better... I don't understand what you're trying to say here. This would be unnecessary in the visual novel, because you can just read the other routes, that's what they're for... In manga it works differently, because you have only one route.
Tsukihime Remake?
You mean the one that replaces Nrvnqsr Chaos with an archetypical 08/15 vampire with a fire and ice gimmick?
The one that turns Roa into a complete joke of a character and antagonist?
You mean the one that completely white-washes Ciel and replaced her role in Arc's route with two completely 💩 characters just to make Ciel look better in the end of Arc's route and her own route?
You mean the one that blows the small scale, secretive fights of vampires, church agents and demon hunters into an overdramatic action shounen with pretentious chuuni-bs? Yeah, definitely kino. If kino is a japanese slang term for cringeworthy, that is.
The manga (which already was very good as an adaptation) is a masterpiece compared to the Remake.
The manga is god tier. Honestly it's so great it makes it superflous to read Near Side at all. Not only does it adapt Arc's route, it also fixes all the few problems, OG Near Side had. Plus it utilizes everything the VN has and builds not only a fantastic adaptation from it, it also works well on its own merits. As far as I'm concerned, THIS is the definitive version of Arcueid's route. Remake should have taken more notes from this manga than just one scene.

Nero is Nrvn, Caesar is Qsr so Nrvnqsr Chaos is Nero Caesar Chaos.
I completely forgot this was a thing and it’s been sitting on my must read list for the better part of 3 years. Hehe I think I’ll be reading this soon. Or it could be 3 years who knows.

According to the lore confirmed by Remake: Arcueid is around 800 chronologically, Under 20 biologically and has been awake for less than an year in total since her creation. So one could argue that Shiki is taking advantage of an infant if not for the fact that she is kind of like an AI as she comes pre-programmed with knowledge of the world.
Additionally Arcueid falling for Shiki quickly is canon. Being killed by Shiki broke her in a way as the sheer agony of having to remake herself piece by piece distracted her from her prime directive (so to speak) of killing vampires and her kinda-sorta sole emotion of hating/disliking Roa for stealing her power and tricking her. While Arcueid justifies her dislike for Roa as an extension of her purpose as the vampire killing vampire, she cannot think of a reason as to why she keeps thinking about Shiki. This leads to her being fascinated by him and THAT is the real reason she finds him and makes him take responsibility for killing her. After that she starts caring for Shiki as this is the first time she has interacted with anyone outside of business. That quicly evolves into romance. As for why Shiki falls for her: Well... do I really need to explain that? And in such visual novel stories the romance starts very very fast.
But really, writing this I can't help but feel like Shiki is exploiting Arcueid's emotionally immaturity.
Also side note: According to the Type-Moon wiki for Arcueid her cousin is "Excalibur". You know Saber's Excalibur.
Shiki is a pedo that likes biggies and arcueid and excalibur are family.

thats probably why they did the remake of the VN it's gotten pretty dated.
I honestly think the reason why Type Moon don't localise the VNs of both Tsukihime and Fate/Stay Night is because they're lazy.
The vn is out in English and now we have to wait for the other side of the garden
I love the manga version so much and the one thing i think deserves the most praise is its ending because its very perfectly open ended like is shiki actually still alive did shiki and arcueid actually reunite or is arc dreaming all of it while chained in castle brunestud or what like it's open-endedness is so perfect that your headcanon for what actually happened could actually be the true ending and the best part is it will never get fucked up by a sequel or another adaptation since this is already an adaptation
yall are tweaking, theres always ppl complaining about Nrvnqsr, I like how strange it is, it makes him more mysterious, Nero is less appealing in my opinion. I also like how there's no vowels at all.

I’m Japanese and i just finished playing both the arcueid and ciel routes. They were both very good! I think the manga is really good but the remake Tsukihime arcueid route is even better!
Also, I should add that apparently we’re getting a Satsuki route too. There’s like a secret post-credit scene where they showcase bits and pieces from the other side of the moon. One shot included Satsuki along with the other 3 female leads.
So about that English release
Tsukihime remake arc route broke my heart. In 17 pieces.
Then I read the manga.
I am happy again. The manga is canon.. Right? Right?
Every ending is canon in nasuverse they are just timelines with different outcomes

That means there's a timeline where all of the characters are happy, or at least Shiki and Arc get a relatively happier ending. There are many others where they don't get one.

The manga ending still bittersweet to me.. Since the moments he meet and did rescued her seems like off.. His hair man... He still dreaming and still dodging death..
