Can we please all give a thumbs up for the dude in 1991 video’ing this shit better than dudes filming in 2020...
👍👌
My wife and I are both huge fans, and now our daughter is starting to get into the band as well. So that's three Pearl Jammers in our house. Four if you count our dog Jeremy.
Jeremy pooped in...the house todaaaaay....
Sorry, I couldn't resist. MY 7 yr old son is starting to get into PJ as well. Isn't it fun to pass on that kind of music? :)
@@sabatino1977 my 12 yr old grandson is getting n2 PJ. Soo cool. (His dad's name?? Yep. Jeremy.) Ps that Was funny...

I miss “record” stores so much! What an exciting time of life.
The best!!
It was always a mini music festival for me. People enjoying music in a public place with different stations. I miss it too.
Record stores are still around.
But shows like these being thrown in them? Idk about that.
Jace Viets hahaha!!
I wonder if everyone who was there realised how friggen lucky they were to witness this amazing event
A band 33 years together. Incredible.
I was at their first show in Seattle
I've come to accept that it's Eddie's world and we just live in it.
Fuck that.
@maximusmeridius3106 go mess around, no one is forcing you to listen this
i do not need... he does not need.. a microphone...a microphone...my voice is f^^%&^ing powerful!
The D!
🎤🎶💪👍
I haven't ever seen anyone sing without a mic as powerful as Vedder in this set
he has a mic tho
@@kylehill9653 he puts it down at 12:58 and does the rest without it.
oh shit u right my b
Eddie was and Is fantastic😊
Best things bout ALL those great Early-mid 90s bands?
At they're best live!
Most those 60s bands?
(ESPECIALLY the British bands? )
Sucked live.
Except The Who.
The Doors, CSNY, Hendrix, Black Sabbath, MC5, CCR, Stooges, Velvet Underground were great live tho.
Mostly the American bands.
Sabbath prob best live British band then.
They're drummer
Beatles/Led Zeppelin/Pink Floyd/Stones? Yawn 🥱 😫 😦 🥱
Almost 7 minutes into this video, when I realized, Eddie is performing without a mic.............!!!! True musicians, the world needs more.................! Pearl Jam define's an era, Pearl Jam you ARE a era!
He is using a mic, he’s just sitting with it in his hand
No, really guys it's true. He's not using a mic. No amplification needed. Eddie is just that powerful.
@@Derp009 And sometimes... not even that! 😉😁
Modern musicians: need mic with autotune software
4:18 I promise things don't normally go over my head lol but if most of the people commenting are being sarcastic I can't tell, probably its really obvious but I seen some other comments besides this thread saying he's singing without a mic and its painfully obvious he is lmao have a good one though.
Eddie’s voice.... without a microphone!!! Freaking amazing 😉!!! Love these guys
there’s a microphone

@@spaghettiopizza8686 keep watching, he drops the mic and sings so powerful!!
It's hard to find a singer that puts that much emotion into his songs.
Yep CACAINE
Marvin Gaye, Al Green and Joe Cocker. Eddie was one of the greats.
@@ladyz2291 sorry didn't mean "was" lol
I love hearing Wash live.
When I play wash I secretly feel like I'm a superfan !!!
Agreed, what an awesome song, instruments and let's not forget the best vocals ever before and ever again!
This makes me want to go back in time.
I miss the 90s so much. I don't know how to explain it to someone who wasn't alive then. Everything just seemed exciting. Everything seemed so fresh and new. The Seattle sound had just emerged and Rap/Hip Hop was in its golden age. Everyone got along. The country(USA) was doing great. We had just come out of the Gulf War, Soviet Union had just collapsed, and the economy was starting to do really well. It felt like the peak. People just seemed happier. It is such a stark contrast to today(2024). I do very much believe the internet ruined a lot of things. As great as the internet is, it has a ton of negatives.
Me too
I always notice how shy Eddie is in the early years.
You mean - high? 😁
Didn’t appear all that shy when performing with his first band Bad Radio. He even a Kiedis vibe. The clips are on youtube.
Yeah, he wasn’t famous in the slightest when he was with Bad Radio, no reason to hide.
@@PS2542 he is still shy. Thats why he drinks every oncert
@@fhatheadproductions he also had been living in San Diego for several years when he was in bad radio and his friends were at the shows. Seattle was a whole new thing and he didn’t know anyone. Going on tour would also be a whole new thing with strangers everywhere.
Mike on the right stone on the left I can’t remember seeing this before
I thought the same thing!
You’re right it’s usually the other way around and Jeff is in wrong spot too.
Eddie's vocals are amazing...
I’m 47 and was 19 when Ten came out.
I watch this video every few years. I appreciate it more and see it a different way every time. Oh, how I wish I was there.
16 not 19 😉
"Who needs a mic , I am my own mic , I don't need electronics to amplify me, I am the power ," drops the mic, ", yep , better without the mic. .. proceeds to hypnotize and mesmerize the crowd...Mr. Vedder , is an amazing being .
He didn’t say that
I am a late bloomer when it comes to the guys of Pearl Jam, 51yrs old a fan for 2yrs now it saddens me that because I became a new mother of my amazing son in 1993 that I missed looking deeper and buying albums to enjoy their awesome talent, and didn't experience their music when it came out(I am enjoying it now immensely), and because I haven't seen them live, I'm praying for just one more tour, they had to cancel my concert May of this year due to Cameron and Ament being Covid positive. I absolutely favor these musicians to any and all music I've heard before.
Heh, I felt like a late bloomer and didn't get into them until 1998. I knew of them and heard their stuff, but I didn't like them at all. It all changed when I went to a concert in 1998. After seeing them live, I became obsessed. I had to have every song they ever did. I ended up going to as many shows they did as humanly possible. I don't really know how to explain it.
when eddie is singing live especially in the 90s it sounds just as it does on record !
id argue it’s better live
@@joshtonkin7684 yes i like both
especially their 90s live stuff, sounds great
Pearl Jam is an live band, love all the records BUT LIVE they are at different level! My favorite band on this planet 😊💓✌️🤘
Just sucks that his voice started becoming thinner and less powerful by the mid-late 90’s. He was in his vocal prime pre-95
The way Eddie interacts with fans at the end, he really seems like a genuinely nice person.
He is. I mentioned in the comments above how I met him a few years ago. He was super nice. You can tell he genuinely appreciates his fans.
Even without a microphone the man sounds like he’s cutting the studio track
I consider footage like this gold! Absolutely genius performers and musicians. I love how Mike is wearing a Soundgarden shirt- showing their support as always!!!
This album came from out of nowhere, its a masterpiece of the 90's.
I was 7 when this was filmed, I discovered pearl jam when I was 10 years old, The first album I ever bought myself with my own money was Vs. and I have been a fan of this band ever since. Eddie Vedder has one of the best voices ever in my opinion, he has been and always will be such an inspiration to me. I thank him and the band for such amazing music and getting me through life, no matter the situation I was always able to turn to their music.
I was 8, and I discovered them around the same time. The first CD I bought with my own money was The Doors, but the second CD I bought was Ten. I jammed that CD every night for weeks.
Eddie Vedder has always been a inspiration in my life through good times and some of the bad times and my worst times and whenever I'd listen to him singing it would lift my spirits higher, I LOVE PEARL JAM FOREVER ❤️🤘🎶

It was an awesome time to be a teenager.
30 years later & still amazing! 💜
1992 pinkpop festival is a true career highlight concert for them also checkout the mtv unplugged they did amazing with headphones
Yesss headphones 🎧 totally awesome, if anyone has some decent headphones you should used them, it really makes a difference.
haha, I wonder who them little kids are near the stage and if they realise what they were lucky enough to see. Awesome video..
Some really lucky people seeing this for real WOW!! Wish I had a time machine. ❤️🤘
Everyone in the band is awesome ☺️ Stone, Jeff, Mike and Dave A. And of course Eddie Vedder, he is such a sweetheart, look how he responds to the little kids!! ❤️🤘 love Pearl Jam ❤️ such a powerful and passionate voice sometimes without a 🎤.
The fact that this was 30 years ago is just mind blowing. I was lucky enough to see Pearl Jam in the hay day 91 and 92 I've never seen them since. They have been through my town several times I just never had the chance to see them live again. But I'm glad I was able to see them before they became the big huge mega stars that they are now. I'm so happy for all of their success and I thank God that they are still here with us today. Their music changed our world tremendously. Those little kids were so lucky to sit there and converse with Eddie and the guys so they have to be probably in their 30s by now, so cool so freaking cool!! ❤️
@@mariemarquez2480 I totally agree!! I love these concerts before they because huge, I've seen videos when Eddie was in another band called Bad Radio where he sings Betterman and to watched Eddie sing it in Pearl Jam is amazing, I cried each time he sings it because thinking back to his first band, he must of been thinking am I ever going anywhere? I'm just really proud of them all. 😊💓🤘✌️Really, your comment is lovely!!
This is the most extraordinary thing I've ever seen
OMG!!!
Excellent
The same flannel he's wearing on Even Flow
Lucas he wore that flannel a lot in 1991-1992
15:55 when he drops the mic and you dont even notice!!!! God damn his voice is amazingly powerful. Also the improv "I have no voice she said" is amazing. I watch this every time I'm drunk. I LOVE IT>
He can't sing
@@aaronandleeazza01 I'd say their 100 million+ album sales, plus millions of concert attendees over the last 33 years would disagree with you
Incredible without a microphone!!! Love Eddie, what a voice...
This footage Is a jewel...
There something special about this band when they had Dave A in it. I bought everything up to Yield. I know Krusen played drums on Ten, but the way Dave A played live with this band was magic. Those first two records are great, and some of Vitalogy is hit or miss. This was a great time for the band.
Agree completely. They were definitely magic with Dave A. behind the kit
eddie vedder is the only guy i can think of that can somehow sing louder WITHOUT a mic
Eddie and The Boys are so awesome looking here...Their long hair😍
Damn. So powerful. The Vedder Voice.
I'm trying to learn Even Flow with my vocal coach Eddie's voice is intimidating to a singer
I feel like people often overlook how good these musicians ALL are. Eddie is obviously incredible, but let’s not overlook the incredible talents around him.
Everyone is excellent Stone, Jeff, Mike McCready 🎸 and Matt🥁 I love Pearl Jam ❤️🤘🎶🎤 love Eddie very much!!
And of course Dave A. And all other drummers they were all awesome!! 🥁
@@laurawatters914 Dave A, Matt has the personality of a Drum Machine.
Amazing rare footage of the greatest band ever
From around middle school trough the beginnings of college I lived about 5-10 minutes from this Tower Records.... moved there just 2-3 years, I think, after this happened. Just missed it. Damn. RIP Tower Records and the 90's and CD's and cassettes and youth and innocence...
I am glad that I am a 90s kid.
Ed you beautiful human..this takes my breath away everytime
Remember records stores??? Used to be my favorite place to go, used to spend hours there, used to have quite a collection.
I knew as soon as he stood up that Porch would be next 👏🤘
Can you can't get more raw and powerful than this... You could hear than and knew they would become one of the biggest bands in the world... You could see in Stones smile he was like...we got us an amazing singer....
Such a lovely guy he says to that fan ' you look great , really handsome , healthy'

UFF, Iove so much the 90s. All that we lived was great and new, all the changes in Tech, TV and music
Oceans will always blow my doors off and this is no exception. So raw, just perfect.
I was 21 when Ten came out.I loved them from their beginning and still love Pearl jam!
"You look healthy" I literally love him.
whats the time marker for that? (for example 1:30) Thank you :)
Recorded through a 1990s era camcorder and his voice sounds almost like a studio cut.
Amazing. I used to go to that same tower records and wait outside in line whenever a new album was coming out... the good old days...
LayneInChains what’s an album? Lol
This is my number one favorite video on all of UA-cam. I cry every time that I wasn't born yet for everything in the Seattle scene. I live here, but being born in 1999 sucks man. It really sucks.
I was born the same year. I fucking hate my life -.- you know my parents were around 20 during this time but they still to this day have no idea who pj is. The fuck. Is it that even possible xD
honestLY my dude
This was a good year to be 16. Fun times.
Ledzep9620 if your folks were 20 in 91 and don’t know PJ, sorry dude - you were either adopted by aliens or they were living among the Amish. I was 16 in ‘91 and you couldn’t escape their music if you tried.
Pearl Jam and Nirvana were everywhere in the early 90's. It was a really awesome time for mainstream music. You could turn on MTV and actually see something cool. Technology has advanced so far since then that the life is totally different now. We couldn't have even imagined something like UA-cam back then. An iPod would have blown our minds. An iPhone would have literally seemed like an impossible magical device. I miss the 90's, though.
you can feel they are on the cusp of greatness here.....and EV is mesmerizing
I met Ed a few years ago and he was super nice. I told him how much his music had helped me over the years and he just gave me a big hug and kept saying 'thank you'. He is a good dude.
real music. He is signing autographs with a broken hand
hell yeah. love him man.
what a voice he was blessed with... damn
Great somebody recorded this.
Better times. I miss those times.
Life before the Internet was so good
Black is one of favorite songs ever for me.
This was my Tower Records for my college years in Bronxville! Shame I was 3 years too late!!
Videos like these are proof that time travel either will NEVER be invented, or if it is possible to travel back in time and witness a sweet historic show, you enter another dimension completely.
Or, 90’s videos are permanent relics and aren’t affected by time travel, and this show is actually crammed with time-travelling Pearl Jam fans.
This is a tough kind of show to play. Gotta watch your dynamics and volume and still bring out the best of the tune.
Eddie singing Black- geez. Powerful.
Oh man, this was before they hit the big time.
Things like this are gold
What I would give to have been there! Shit they were and still are so good!
What I wouldn't give to be at Tower Records on that day,to meet Ed,Jeff,Stone,Mike and Dave and get an autographed copy of Ten!! CLASSIC!!!
Eddie is such a nice guy they all are
I can't believe how young edved looks. Pure Awesomeness right here just some boys on the road to the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame.
He's fucked up
33:28 it's cute how Eddie gave the marker to the fan next to him to get it open since his hand was fucked up xD
I was still in High School in 1991, and wouldn’t discover this band for another year during college. ❤️❤️❤️
I love this.
I'd love to imagine what the guy was thinking when he was filming this. It sure wasnt, holy shit, I HAVE GOLD HERE. Amazing performance, amazing band.
I couldn't even imagine having that on my resume of life events!! how cool is that?
I always cry after watching this godliness.
Amazing. Now let me just jump through the screen...
Absolutely!!!! 💓🤘✌️☺️
Pretty sure this is the greatest thing ever captured on FILM.

this video makes me feel like i’m THERE. and oh i wish i was.
What a Gem to see on UA-cam. Would have been cool to be there early on. Second best video next to the unplugged MTV show. Love the album, but acoustic really shows how talented they are!
Best band EVER!
''...back to the clean form - to the pure form...'' without the mic = just fucking perfect ;)

Awesome with the kids, life long fans forever!
Wow !!... Such a Awesome Raw Show ..Pearl Jam rocks anywhere ✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻
Raw talent combined with searing ,emotion filled lyrics have led them to epic stardom. Rock on...
No mic... beautiful...
I'm from Yonkers and Pearl Jam is my favorite band of all time. What an event this was. Unfortunately I was 11 and had no idea. But when I was 15 I discovered them, probably listening to the radio, and I never stopped loving their music. Now I'm 37 and flew from Los Angeles to Chicago and saw their Wrigley Field show 2016. It was the shit! Had such a great time. Love PJ 4 life! 🤘
Edit* Looking forward to the new album Dark Matter! Few more weeks until it's released. 🤘
wonder why they replaced the original drummer? he was a beast behind that kit. all around i love to see stone and jeff having their dreams come true , considering the loss they experienced, they for sure earned it. great to see, a one of a kind chemistry...
Depends on which "original drummer" you mean.
Pearl Jam drummers, on the album Ten was Dave Krusen and then for a couple of shows was Matt Chamberlain and then drummer is Dave Abbruzzese playing here, played on VS and Vitalogy ( love Dave, he got fired ) and then Jack Irons replaced him and went on to do a couple of album Yield and No Code he left and then drummer Matt Cameron that played with Soundgarden also. I hope I said everything right.
How can ANYONE "thumbs down"... this is so grassroots! Record shops, gd it! Such a moment in history for so many. I love the small convos in the bg. Very cool to see the beginnings of a true legendary rock band. Thank you for sharing.
