So what is Squaresville you ask?
Squaresville is a funny, weird, quirky, indie teen web series about growing up in the suburbs with nothing to do. Each episode is filled with funny situations, weird characters filled with teen angst, hipsters, romance, drama, and adventure. It tackles the universal issues of growing up misunderstood, teen issues, gay and lesbian issues, relationships, and friendships, all with a light, off-kilter touch. Squaresville is full of comedy, drama, and everything else you want out of your favorite tv online.
With cast members like Mary Kate Wiles (the pretty girl with the red hair from "Lizzie Bennet Diaries" & Corridor Digital's Prism) and Kylie Sparks (the cute geek girl you've seen on tv shows like Bones, Desperate Housewives, Pizza, & Complete Savages) and guest stars from youtube's biggest channels, there's something for everyone. It's like Daria, Freaks and Geeks, New Girl, Awkward, Popular, Ghost World, but as a web series, and free online. So if you like free shows like Felicia Day's "The Guild" or VGHS, the "nerd fighter" humor of "the Vlog Brothers", the female comedy of JennaMarbles and "Daily Grace", or the insight of "Tyler Oakley" or "Hannah Hart" ("My Drunk Kitchen"), then Squareasville is awesome for your face.
New funny videos every Friday starting in early 2013 featuring the best new indie rock, emo, punk, and the best independent music.
Did we mention they're free videos? They totally are. Start from the top so you're ready for Squaresville Season 2.

I want to open a second-hand bookstore. I'd sell other second hand stuff too, like old cameras and phones and stuff, but mostly books.
Hahaha you just described almost the exact kind of shop my partner and I want to open
Can I be a space pirate with you instead?
I would like to open up a bakery/coffee shop. It would be called Coffee-N-Cake. :D
"My other t-shirt is a car" I didn't realize how badly I want this until now.
Space ninjas vs. Space pirates: you decide.
Indeed. It's called "Citizen Shelly" and Tiffany CRUSHES IT.
Wow, I have totally had daydreams like this! I totally used to daydream about opening my own coffee shop with a Christianity library in it. No joke.
This is great because it shows how amazing coming up with ideas is but also shows that it isn't that easy. You have to work hard and there will always be struggles and hardships and sometimes your dream will change. But the important thing is that you remember to only do it if it makes you happy and you wake up loving your life.
This is totally how I daydream! Random things that I love all piled together, and then reality sets in...kind of.
Since high school I've wanted to own a huge store in an inner city that has a bookshop and a coffee shop, but also has computers that are free to use, a back space for poetry readings and jams, and an upstairs loft to show movies and host dances... an all around great place for inner city kids to work at and hang out in that keeps them off the street and provides them a safe space to do homework and chill with their friends.
Love this episode! And love that I know all about franchises and stuff because of school :) you guys make me feel so smart!
I loved first season too, but this is still very artfully filmed, and it keeps the general feeling. It opened the way for thousands of indie web series, and brought a lot of great things like the new Jane Eyre and Coffee shop Squatters !
I loved this episode, this sort of stuff makes me really want to work in theatre.
This episode has more of a feel of the monologues than a normal episode.
I have recently learned that those kinds of dreams extend beyond adolescence.
Space pirate - definitely a plan I should consider after my graduation in fall.
That sounds lovely.
When even day dreams end badly, this is my life at the moment.
you guys are awesome!
My friend is a florist and I'm a baker as well as a writer and so I had this idea of a Floral/Coffee/Performance space where people can come and watch good skits and there would be a poet smash on Friday nights. The floral shop will be in the back and the bakery would be half vegan and half well regular baking. The acting space would be upstairs. I always liked the idea because it would mean fresh flowers everyday in the shop and just a place for different people to get together.
I'm not sure why, but I really really loved this episode. I think it may be my favourite. There was just something so beautiful and bittersweet about it that just made me fall in love with it...
This was a cool episode. And the effects made it easier to get absorbed into the vision of the future.
And in a way, everything happens in our own heads, if you know what I mean.
That was really beautiful guys :)
I love this episode
There's a place downtown Toronto called Snakes and Lattes and it's a coffee shop with floor to ceiling shelves of every board game imaginable. You can spend hours there sipping and munching and playing any of the games you want. It's awesome.
Space pirate ninjas! That's a force to be reckoned with.
Oh my gosh, going through the comments and reading everyone's fantasy shops is awesome. Can we please make this a reality?
I always thought about opening a bakery or an old fashioned soda jerk in a small beach town, but when I was a kid, my cousin and I dreamed about opening a food truck (before we knew that food trucks were even an actual thing). We were going to drive it all over the U.S. and sell food. It was great.
I have always wanted to open up a book store, either used or new.
there's a cute little coffee/antique/usedbook store downtown where i live. it smells like coffee, apple pie, and old books. There's a whole room dedicated to antique clothing, costumes, and hats. It's called 'Coffee and a Good Book'. Which might not be the most original name but it fits :D
So remember having this convo with my besty... a long time ago!
Touché.
This is how my brain operates. "Yay, this would be awesome! But..."
Space Pirate it is.
I love that idea! I wish you could do it!
Space Pirate encompasses all of the things that I love. The name of my space pirate store would obviously be 'Astronautical'.
If I had the money, I would totally steal this idea.
Yea! New monologue next week!
My store would be a Wes Anderson themed putt putt course/coffee shop/steamed crab pavilion.
I've always wanted to start a coffee shop in an old cinema, decorate it with old exploitation movie posters, and call it 'The Grind-house'.
i never wanted to open a store, but ever since i was 4 i've wanted to be a mountain climbing fairy. i could climb mountains in the day and when i got tired i could fly home.
this is one of my favorite episodes. i dont think ive ever seen anything like it.
My boyfriend and I have talked about this often over the last few months. A restaurant called The Flying Pig. The slogan is "Bacon?" "Bacon!". Essentially it's a restaurant with bacon in every meal. If you're really adventurous you could try a bacon milkshake, or candied bacon for desert. I don't know if we'll ever MAKE this place, but my god does it sound amazing in my head. :)
nailed it
When you add space to the mix now you also have to have them compete with space cowboys.
UGH. You guys are totally right. I realized the mistake too late to fix it. Our bad. You right.
This episode was one of them, actually. Most of them have been released in season 1 (tree house was one) but a couple more are still coming.
I always wanted to start a sweet shoppe that also sold juice and real food; the stuff would be quality and everything, but there would be cheaper options too, and the kids at the local high school would hang out there, get soft serve, and lounge on the bean bags under my bubble lights. There would be a giant corkboard with a ton of sitcky notes so that people could just write what they wanted to say to the public on it. I think I'd call it The Squeeze or Parlor Picks, but I dunno.
I always wanted to open my own library that featured books written by my friends and another teen authors trying to get their stories known.
Psh, space pirates? It's all about the space ninjas, baby.
My whole friend group had this discussion while waiting to go onstage with our choir :)
My friend owns a steampunk bookstore/coffee shop. It's really cool.
I love you guys! I wanna be a space pirate toooooo!!!
I've kind of always wanted to open a patisserie called "Like Buttah!" or a noodle bar called "Oodles."
Oh my gosh I want to go there so much.
I would love to open a knitting/crochet/yarn/related crafts store.... It would just be s lovely to be surrounded by everything I need to do something I love and to help others do the same...
I think I want to be a space pirate too ... and I would totally buy 'Got Mike?' and 'My Other Shirt is a Car' t-shirts. Great episode, looking forward to Shelly's MonoLo7ue. :)
This is basically how all my future planning turns out... I'm totallyyy with ya on the space pirate thing. We could plan a Squaresville meet-up on the moon in like a couple of years if this college thing doesn't go so well. x
A coffee shop/boutique/bookstore run by space pirates (or space ninjas, or maybe Ninja Pirates of Space, which is also a good name for a band!) sounds awesome xD. I would really like to run my own company, it's pretty ambitious, but if I could run a business, it would be about books and nerdy stuff ftoo, because I love it and we need more of those in my country.
When my best friend and I were in middle school she ended up moving, so we made blueprints for our cafe that would be called "The Chatterbox" it had a telephone at each table and free wi-fi so that customers could chat with their friends near and long-distant.
Yay, I see a Tiffany MonoLo7ue in our future!
There's a store kind of like Esther's daydream by me. It's called Culture Shock. They sell records, clothes, accessories, etc. They're awesome.
My friend runs an antique shop called "Remains to be seen."
My sister and I were in a punchy mood one day at Safeway and we decided we shld open a bakery and we would call it "wet floor" because there was a sign nearby indicating that the floor was wet. Four or five years later we both still remember that conversation but probably won't be opening a bakery. It was fun while it lasted :)
Coming this Friday!
I'm fully planning to open an independent bookstore called The Barricades. So that people going there can say "TO THE BARRICADES!!"
This is my actual life plan, though.
There's a shop called "Cafe Amadeus" after Amadeus Mozart in my college town where I'm a student. They only play classical music and have all sorts of cool paintings and books. All the music majors hang out there, including me!
I've been daydreaming about opening a café/bookstore lately. Haven't come up with a clever name. But yeah, I'd book musicians and have poetry nights and all that jazz. And I read about a bar where you could bring in a book and trade it with one of the books they had. I could try that too.
*daydreams*
Oh no, I'm going to be that person and say I hope you meant fair trade coffee.
I've always had it in the back of my mind that I could have a great little coffee shop/book store.
I always had this mad dream to open a Surf Shop! So sell awesome clothing by big surf and skate brands, sell surf boards, skate decks and so on. Only one problem: I didn't surf. Or skate. And I lived about 300km from the nearest beach ... It was nice while it lasted ;)
A bakery called Éclair de la Lune! (Like the pastry + the classical piece of music) :)
YES.
omg! I had the same idea!!!!! :DD
Aww I like the end ;)
And yeah, it's sad what happens to awesome stores and ideas :( If I ever make something great, I'll NEVER sell out, no matter HOW much they offer me!
I just started my own piano studio. I hope to eventually get a store front to be my studio and in this school I will also have a coffee shop :)
Qualitea books. Bookshop and tea shop in one. USed bookshop along with new books. You could by tea, teapots and tea gear in one section your favorite book in another. And some books would come with a package deal of suggested tea. Like With Sherlock homes you'd get Earl Grey or English Breakfast. With Memoirs of a Geisha Oolong. Music would probably be sold there too with tea deals :)
Awwww
Cool Stuff I Want to Buy! and I sort of did start it on Etsy :)
we use liquid nitrogen. The looks we get when we start making the ice cream are hilarious
I always wanted to open up a bookstore and it would have little tables where you could sit a read a few chapters of any book (your own or any other if you didn't feel like buying any, which I now realize wouldn't be so good for the business lol) and we would sell coffee and nice little donuts and cakes and slices of apple pie. But yeah, my dream is pretty much like there's and it probably won't happen.
well I sure am early...this is eerie.
Nothing shop and I would sell everything
Ugh, these are so cute. I'd want to open some sort of Euro market - you know, the kind that has magazines in German and candy from Poland.
Esther should put that on a t-shirt.
My family actually has an ice cream shop called "What's the Scoop?"
Most recent dream of mine: I want to open a smoothie shop/pilates studio. Not sure what I'd call it - maybe something like Sunshine Smoothies, or maybe something simple like Smoothies and Pilates. Or something. Anyway, I live in the northeast so it would definitely have to have other warm healthy options and winter smoothie flavors like hot chocolate and stuff. And snacks of course. And the pilates classes in the back. With some offered specifically for pre/postnatal classes.
I kind of want to open a coffee/food shop where the theme would be like creative inspiration so people could bring in their homemade movies and we would post them on our website or project them and have movie nights and they could bring in their easels and paint and we could hang them up if they wanted to so you could get a kids drawing next to a professional one and have live bands and cool events and a free book swap and sigh I want this
I used to want to open a music venue and live in a penthouse above it, and only invite bands that I like to perform there. I think this was because I lived in Delaware, and no one I like ever tours there.
Yes, I have. I wouldn't know the name, but it'd be a smoothie/book/coffee shop. I'd sell delicious smoothies, awesome books, nerd paraphernalia, coffee and tea, and it'd be a cool place to hang. I'd have old school arcade games. It'd be awesome. And I sure as hell wouldn't sell out, no matter how awesome the money is.
id want to have a little cafe with a large stage. productions can be held, readings, workshops, fundraisers. anything really
Cute!
I want to open a 1920s-Halloween-themed bar called the Spookeasy.
Yup, they have a bandcamp page for their soundtrack, it doesn't have everything but it has most things. Just do a google search for "squaresville series bandcamp" or something.
I love baking and for one of my graphic design classes, i created a fictitious bakery that specialized in gourmet cupcakes and it was called Sweet Dreams. I wished so badly that it was real but there's just so many now :/
Well that escalated quickly.
A book shop. It's always been my dream to own one but unfortunately I don't think it's gonna happen.
We have this thing called "fika" in Sweden. It's when you sit down, have a coffee and cookie, pastry, sandwich, coke.. Whatever. it sounds like an ordinary coffeebreak but Oh no! Well I would like to open a real swedish Fikaplace in London
Oh my goodness
My friend have joked about owning a libakery: A library bakery. It would be awesome. :)
I would love to own a bar rather than a shop. And it would be cabaret themed... and cheaper than most bars... and have live jazz... and be open until the sun came up (on a few selected nights)
That was sad. dreams aren't supposed to go downhill suddenly and crash. I have dreams... that probably wont come true, but at least in my head they end well.
