a little tip when hiring Mercenaries (hard to explain, easier to show :D ) - hire them before you raise your armies, because when armies are raised, your income drops, and if you cant afford the Mercs up front, then you wont be able to go into debt (max debt limit is 2 years of monthly income) because your rallied army takes up most or all of your income. Basically 2 years of income before army is raised is your normal monthly income over 2 years, but when army is raised your monthly income drops and your income over 2 years drops with it and becomes nothing or close to nothing, so you cant go into debt, so you cant buy Mercenaries. TLDR: You can afford better Mercenaries, if you hire them before raising your main army.

@@gorbachevdhali4952 think of it like a pyramid. The king is at the top and the main ruler of the kingdom, below are your dukes, king breaks up the majority of his kingdom to be delegated to the dukes. Dukes will then further break up the land given to them by the king and delegate the management to counts. Counts will usually have their lands (counties) have towns, churches, castles and stuff who's management get delegated to mayor's priests and barons; the bottom yet most numerous of the pyramid. The lowest tier manage the businesses that generate tax income who kick back some coin to the count, who kicks his coin and levies to the Duke, who kicks coin and levies to the king.
Dude! Out of 3 channels with CK content, you are the first to slow things down so i understand what you are getting at! You have no idea how good your videos are! Keep up the good work.
English spelling for numbers is horrible. The sentences with numbers become a text. As a non-native speaker and comparing to portuguese I can figure that out.
Here's a big one: Siege weapons are completely bonkers. They cost very little apart from the initial cost of creating their regiment, they insanely speed up your siege times tho. Having 20-40 siege weapons, even with no other men at arms will enable you to rush in, take your enemies' castles at a fever pitch and get your warscore up to 100% so fast, even their allies will often struggle to get there in time to stop you. This is probably one of the first things to get hit by a major nerf since it's completely op right now, but as long as it's still this way, take advantage of it I say^^
@@Livingvapour Well not necessarily, early on especially for tribal rulers men at arms can make up a hefty portion of your army and they are stonger (Unless countered by enemy man at arms) than normal levies. When you start getting the later men at arms regiments - Xbows, heavy cav etc... then they start to become pretty insane especially the cultural ones (cataphract... cough... cough..). Also whenever building men at arms keep in mind who you are going to attack next and their army comp, it can have a massive effect on the battles you are going to take, as when a man at arms regiment gets fully countered their effectiveness drops to just 10% so in case of the insane cataphracts with 120 base damage, getting fully countered by spearmen will drop their attack value to just a mere 12 which is barely higer than a mere levy, so keep that in mind.
@@John-cq9ew This. You can absolutely ravage a bigger army than yours if you have the right comp, on the right terrain with better commander and better knights than your opponent (definitely had that in Ireland... fully levy army of 2000 men Vs my 1500 with better commander and 200 archers... in a forest... the enemy lost hard). And getting siege weapon is fine and dandy... until you realize it takes one spot that is absolutely useless in an open field battle. So... yeah your sieges will be faster but that will comme at the cost of less effectiveness on an actual battlefield which might prevent you from siegeing in the first place. Nefing siege weapons will make the tradeoff even worse.
I’m playing as William the Conqueror. And when I first tried to go after England, I spent a good 15 minutes trying to find out how to raise my ships before I realized that you can just send your troops to the water and pay for the voyage. Not to mention that the war in this game is not something to take lightly. It took me two to three years to beat Harold into submission and another five years to defeat Hardrade... by that point, I was exhausted😂😤 In conclusion, I love this game.
Yup. Do not start a war you aren't absolutely sure to win and make sure that: 1) your opponent was already at war very recently and therefore weakened. 2) your opponent doesn't have any good alliances or that your allies are stronger. 3) Do not hesitate to go into debt buying mercenaries to win a war. Winning a war is much more important than 5 years of debts.
@@mukuro8033 I agree. In CK2, I did like that you had to work to build up your fleets if you wanted to invade or raid overseas. But CK3 makes it easier in the sense that you don’t have to worry about building a fleet. However, that may eventually change but time will tell.
@@crazyhercules9442 Yeah. I hope they implement somewhat a little HOI4 fleet managements cos I really love raiding and just about murdering anybody in CK2..

Actually going over what your going to cover in the beginning of a video is seriously such a great move. I liked it right away. I hate when a video basically tricks me into staying and watching and never delivers.
Yup 100000% man. Watch any of my more recent bannerlord videos, I just outright tell you exactly what I'm going to cover, then expand upon it in the video. I just don't want to waste anyone's time and I find people are really supportive of that approach
@@italianspartacus yeh, instant sub on those beautiful timestamps, always glad to find youtubers who understands the importance of managing information. Speaking of, is Bannerlord in an okay state right now? I held off buying because it had a rough release, but I've been waiting since Warband and I want my harvesting season...
@@ChemySh It's getting there. They are still making changes and patches left, right and center. It's not done yet but it's one of the most impressive early accesses I've seen so far. I have a lot of respect for the Taleworlds team for how they've handled it.
Really liked the 'think 4 steps ahead'. Really makes you realise that the game has so many ways to grasp and consolidate power. Another great video, Spartacus.
i'm a newcomer to this game series and i gotta say, you did an amazing job laying out the basics. you are very clear and concise yet staying simple in explanation which is exactly what i was looking for. thank you dude keep up the great content!
Last point is spot on. Think ahead and make a plan. You're one of my favourite youtubers. Your voice, tone and engaging footage makes me glued to the screen. Thanks a lot!
One thing I feel cannot be overstated is how important knights are to smaller nations. they do crazy damage, and it is routine for my knights with 10% effectiveness to do more damage than all your men at arms, or all your levies, or for 1k and lower stack size, more than all other sources of damage from your army combined. But then you start running into ivar the boneless's 35 prowess champions that he buffed with chivalry's 70% knight effectiveness from a single perk, and it just gets crazy. That's a single guy putting out 6000 damage, which is as much as 600 levies. And unlike men at arms, they have no counters. These guys are crazy and make investing in military upgrades kind of completely unnecessary. Do not neglect knights, knight efficiency, or the chivalry tree in general. Knights are crazy. Even 10 knights with 10 prowess each is still as much combat damage as 1000 levies, in basically zero combat width. Just make sure to disallow your council from ever becoming a knight, as when you have 10 or more of the guys on the field at once, it can be very easy to drop to 9 and end up with your 3 prowess 16 diplomacy chaplain to all of a sudden get real dead real fast.
also you can make some troublesome people in your court knights and send them off to an impossible battle... good way to get rid of them with low intrigue
And keep an eye out for those blademaster's. Got lucky and had two events where I got them without court costs, and suddenly had 2x25+ prowess knights before I'd started my first war.
I learned the hard way to always make sure my heir isn't a knight, lol. The knights are super powerful it seems like they die more easily than powerful characters in ck2 did
@@edstockman5584 It's not really a case of being lucky. Just have a decent (15) martial marshal improving commanders and fairly soon all your knights will be blademasters if they start of with at least 10 prowess.
Also if you can save up a lot and get access to war elephants they are literally tanks. A single levy of elephants or heavy cav early on can lead to extremely easy wars even if numbers do not favor your side. Of course it's not a guarantee of victory, but it is possible to win battles you otherwise shouldn't with them.
Another essential beginner tip - Pick your first character carefully. Picking a good, training-wheels character for your first game will help any player cut his/her teeth on CK3. The Petty King of Munster is a good choice, but I'd recommend the Earl of Dublin instead - Earl Murchad. Playing this guy will teach a new player so many useful things in the first 20 years of the game. What he has going for him: 40 years old with three sons and his 71 year old father is Earl of Leinster; you almost certainly get an early inheritance and are not going to get an early game over. He is a very safe character to go from Count to King as, who will give you early experience managing successions, marriages, alliances (your Dad and whatever family your son marries into), conquest, and title creation. Moreover, lots of mechanics get introduced in increments as this guy. You don't start the head of your line (that's papa), but you will become the head shortly. You don't start as the Irish culture leader, but one culture conversion and one county conquest later, and you will be.
I'm. About to make a "your first campaign in crusader kings" video and I'm going to reference this point. So many amazing things here man. Thank you so much for sharing
@@italianspartacus My pleasure. Boleslaw the Bold in 1066 (King of Poland) is another good suggestion, for players who want to learn the game starting as a king. More to manage (cause he's a king) but still pretty darned safe; a great character with lots of options.
I'd have to think on it more to specify but Ryan doesn't have the vibe most "narrators" give off. He fucking nails the buddy bro vibe. I feel like my boy is giving me the run down of some hot new shit. Love it. Keep it up brother the hard work is noticeable!
Speaking as a new player, I think the hard part is even knowing what you can do. For instance, planning 4 steps ahead is good when you know what steps you can take. I saw in this video you were clicking on people in your council to do certain tasks--I had no idea I could do that! Biggest learning curve is that.
oh shit!! yeah there are so many little things that you just sort of learn clicking and slamming into everything in the UI. it's so annoying, but it really helps in the long run!
@@italianspartacus I tried CK2 and also couldn't get into it. As a totally newbie to the series I actually really like the UI in this game and can get around it pretty well. Perfect? No, but there is a ton of info cover. I also like seeing the characters in 3D, as cheesy as that is.
@@italianspartacus one thing I learned last night by accident that should have been in the tutorial is the ability to leave enough troops for a siege so the main army can go fight somewhere else. It seems obvious now but I was getting wrecked the first ten or so hours in the game simply because I thought you had to leave your entire army at a siege.
Appreciate the tips. This is my first time playing a Crusader Kings game. I already went through the tutorial today, but felt there is likely more to learn. I just can't wait to get comfortable with all the systems and see where it takes me.
I would definitely appreciate some starter guides/playthroughs . I am brand new I did the tutorial and did the first few months as someone in Wales and instantly just got overwhelmed and closed it to watch and learn from others xD It's just so much to take in in a first glance.
I'm also brand new - what I did was watch a youtube tutorial, then play the game a bit and just try it for myself, and then get back to the tutorial - this way I was able to understand much more and actually put all the info of these youtube videos in context. Also, the in-game tutorial helped me quite a bit!
One point I might have added is some commentary on the significance of Religions AND Cultures. You highlighted very well the implications on income and troops of not being a vassal's natural ruler. If you have plans to expand into areas that are different culturally and religiously (as, for example, you mentioned looking to act against the Byzantines in the distant future), however, those factors are in many respects potentially even more significant. It might be good to cover them as well as how to resolve them, as not everyone will be operating in culturally/religiously homogenous areas. Just some thoughts in response to your question near the end. Excellent introduction, thanks. Played plenty of CK2. Cheers
I started as Ghana in 873, as my first round ever. Have been watching the tips and in just 100 years turned it into an empire that is entire Africa and a bit further.
For what I've heard about this game also is to get as many "HOOKS" as possible. Hooks is a key to ruling the world easy. With hooks itll allow you to control your game with less penalties. whether its to get more gold/levies from vassals, help plot an assassin, marry into stronger kingdoms, etc.
I bought the game when it was released yesterday and never played a CK game in my life. I 100% agree hooks should be a beginner tip because they're so damn helpful in the beginning especially if you're new at the game.
go for stewardship and get the money for hooks ability. switch as soon as possible to intrigue. enjoy infinite money. for even better results reform faith make adultery legal for men but not for women. then seduce rich woman and blackmail them.
Hooks do absolute jack shit unless you need them for something specific like revoking titles or demanding money (Golden obligations). I mean sure you can catch a very attractive marriage proposal with one but why would you have hooks on random characters anyway. Mostly you'll have hooks on your children and random courtiers or vassals, people in your court can easily be made 100 opinion so you don't really need hooks for most things anyway.
Awesome video. My first ever time playing I learnt so much and failed hard but it was fun . I played Munster and got a had of vassels who turned against me so I beat them and put them all in prison and kept them as holdings. I was making loadssssss. But little did I know is that the Holdings didn't all go to my primary heir and I had a tonne of kids, like 10. When I died and hire took over all hell broke loose. Brilliant
I'm very new to the series. I think I have maybe 15 hours in. Started watching beginner tutorials and this is the first one that has mentioned the tip about checking if your vassals are holding back taxes/levies for whatever reason. That was very much a "omg I needed to know this!" moment. . .though I imagine that is going to keep happening. Which is why I am watching all these videos. Anyway! Thanks for taking the time to make all these! I am excited to continue down the playlist because this game seems great and I am only sad it took this long for me to discover Crusader Kings in the first place.
Nah. As someone who did just that. It’s more like getting hit by a truck that fell from the sky. You don’t know what’s going on but you know you’re on the losing end of it all.
I played for the first time. Yes it was alot to take in. My first war went bad. Really bad. Like everyone died bad. I wanted to crawl into a corner and breast feed bad.
I wish i could study real life subjects like I study your videos. I can see the light now and I am thoroughly enjoying this beautiful game because of you and I can't thank you enough.
Would agree with that one, and I'm a complete noob. My first Petty King of Munster went -1097 on the reputation score because I was busy trying to steam roll and unite the Kingdom of Ireland. There were still 3 counties left by the time of his death. His son became Great King of Ireland and I've learnt enough to keep him healthy on the reputation thus far.
Eh. If you're the head of the dynasty you can call some of your house members in for free, so if I'm currently playing as one I'll usually go ahead and call somebody in, even if it's not that big a war. (Provided you have enough landed house members lying around the map anyway.) If I'm not, I'll default to calling in whoever's cheapest for the the amount of help they provide because I like the extra security. I just make sure I always have decent amount of prestige on hand for such occasions, or take the hit and go into prestige debt if the character in question is pretty old and liable to die soon anyway since prestige debt doesn't get passed on to their heir
Great video - I really recommend explaining the governing types - the first time my feudal lord died and split the territory between 5 children I capitulated within months!
a funny interaction i have found is if you are facing an annoying vassal rebellion, while you have the abduct ability and can arrest any of the vassals with it. they will be removed from the vassals that are rebelling, plus any vassal in prison cant join factions.
That first tip though 🤦♂️... The amount of times I kept hovering over it and it kept disappearing and I couldn't get it to stay open 🤣 Great tips here, atleast 4/5 that I've completely missed when starting. Awesome video, glad I subbed yesterday 👌 My own personal tip might be a simple one but don't forget to raise men at arms in the military section. I was running around with Levy (Peasants) wondering why everyone else had double my "army" size 😬
First Paradox game I played was Victoria, man I remember how hard it was for me to actually learn how the game work. Hours and hours of learning all the micromanagement, game flows, related history, and a lot more. Every paradox games after that wasnt that hard anymore to learn. Cheers for the upload, just got this and didn't realise how in-depth the game is. Good game... Also a great vid to learn some things, I'll definitely be looking through your other vids after

Not sure if you have noticed, but the timestamps in the video aren't placed correctly (eg. Expand Fast starts at 9:54, but it says 10:58 in the description). Still, really good video! I've never played CK or any grand strategy game before and it's fun watching these tutorials even if I don't own the game. It does make me interested in it so I might get it at a later date once it's on sale.
This is an awesome guide. I was really lost on what to do. I love the details you added about picking spouses. I am going to replay the tutoriall because I was just picking spouses by some of their stats.
Thank you for your tips I just got this game on my Xbox Series X and I had no clue what to do the tutorial explained some mechanics but this is much better.
I suppose a good tip would be to not only have a goal and plan, but also primary and secondary goals and lots of backup plans. Even just after the game starts there can be a lot of variation between when different things start to happen. This domain breaking apart or that rival country coming after land can easily happen anywhere within say a five year period all the way to give or take an extra decade. Figure out what you want to do but come up with a secondary plan for when that plan doesn’t work out.
@@italianspartacus any indication of when we might see a beginners guide for the game? It's overwhelming having never played it before. my first game went not so great but at the same time it did! I started as a small norse shit dinasty and conquered all of norway and parts of sweden uniting them all, became famous and loved by my vassals and everyone around me. Then i died on the toilet of old age or some old battle wound idk and my whole kingdom and dynasty crumbled as my sons waged war and murderd each other until none was left. Hilarious 10/10 game!
@@italianspartacus One thing I am having a hard time grasping is the prisoner system. Is there a way to take a vassal out if I want to replace him with the leadership of my family line.
I started the game as Canada but I just can't defend against the Mongols. Either they come directly through Cape Town or they flank through Norway or something. Any help pls?
Heres a tip for mid late game when you want to attack someone stronger than you or you get attacked. If said enemy has allies try to break those by murdering one of the married couple. They dont have to be in the same location or they might not have the same success chance because they may have rivals or traits other characters don't like. That doesn't work in an ongoing war, that ally wont leave the war until its over when you do that mid war. Keep that in mind. Another good thing to do in preparation against a more powerful enemy is to just put your spymaster searching for secrets in the enemys capital. It may take some time or you wont have any luck, but most of the time you find out some spicy dirt on powerful enemy vassals or even the ruler. Don't necessarily blackmail them if you don't need the money but expose them. Especially exposing strong claims has a HUGE effect on the opinions and criminal status leading to arrests faction uprisings and the like. Information warfare. Destabilizing an enemy territory. You can win a war against a stronger enemy if they themselves have a faction uprising. Be mindful and play the war slow though, these faction armies are hostile, but they wont pursue you. Also, the lands of the revolting vassals should not be sieged. Always go for the capital and the target counties. If your enemy has a big army and a big land attack from 2 sides. You can mostly siege parts of their land while their army is trying to get to you just running in circles (Bad AI lol ) If you are in a dire situation, walk slowly, check if you have prisoners you can ransom and use that gold to get mercenaries. Exposing enemy secrets mid war is especially powerful against tribes that have low laws that soley base their levys on opinion. Quite an RNG tool but it can help turn the tide and lower the size of the enemies army. Prisoners is another thing especially if they have a faith that sees you as evil. Even lowborn that can't pay have a use, simply have them change their faith and release them back to their homes. That can cause chain reactions of AI starting their own mischievous actions against each other further reducing their opinions of each other starting murder plots, rising factions. If you are getting attacked and feel being on the loosing side, try to prolong the war, as the attacker gets an opinion hit that gets dreadful after 1 or more years. Another non war related tip to take over kingdoms even without even wielding a blade effectively is having a strong blackmail hook on a ruler. He will marry his kids off even to evil Faith, even matrilear. But that spouse should not have zealot or high learning so he/she is converted to their faith as to not get murdered. That way a lowly count could possibly even marry off their heir to an Emperor and steal the title withina generation. You probably have to accelerate moving your heir and their kids up in succession with murdering a few people. You also should have a second heir after that, incase yours gets murdered anyways.
@@YouCountSheep Yeah but if you are considering murder then first going for the one murder that makes a difference should be the priority over murdering a dozen or so people to even the odds.
Appreciate the video. I've been having some early game trouble and this gave me a few ideas for the next try. How you you handle your first ruler death and the splitting of your territory? This tends to be where I fall apart. My conquests get divided between children and vassals, most have a claim to the main title so they won't ally up, military strength drops dramatically, and then I get overrun.
I am new to the game, due to 5he fact I bought CIV 6 , it was recommended by Steam, I had Money on steam and sec8ded to buy it and play for an hour and I love it
Just your advice to approach this game with "long game" in mind, that was enough to have me catch on. Prior to that i thought this game was waaaaay too complicated.
Another handy tip for war, since he hammered in the tip of acting fast so much the wood it got hammered into splintered, ATTACK THE CAPITAL FIRST, if you are at war with a kingdom, duchy, ect, get the capital first, it gains the most amount of war score at the beginning, and sometimes rushing it may even win the war immediately [I won all of britannia just by sailing over and quickly sieging their capital, I was surprised but grateful when I saw that 0% go to 100% just from one siege alone, he wasn't even able to sail to my place [I controlled the lower half of Ireland at the time] Even if it doesn't instantly win a war, it gives you a great hook in the war start, but be careful as the AI tend to do this very thing because it gives so much war score, so if an enemy army is heading your way to your capital and your troops outnumber then greatly, use them to head toward your capital, the AI tend to see this and back off, or if they want to stand their ground and fight, it's a fight they lose quickly.

a little tip when hiring Mercenaries (hard to explain, easier to show :D ) - hire them before you raise your armies, because when armies are raised, your income drops, and if you cant afford the Mercs up front, then you wont be able to go into debt (max debt limit is 2 years of monthly income) because your rallied army takes up most or all of your income.

"Tens of hundreds of hours"
We call that "thousands", my friend.
Yes, but either works.
Thousands isn't as sexy as a slowed and emphasized Tens...of hundreds...of hours.." lol
LOL fantastic
English aren't saying twenty-twenty for 2020 anyway ?
English spelling for numbers is horrible. The sentences with numbers become a text. As a non-native speaker and comparing to portuguese I can figure that out.
Here's a big one: Siege weapons are completely bonkers. They cost very little apart from the initial cost of creating their regiment, they insanely speed up your siege times tho. Having 20-40 siege weapons, even with no other men at arms will enable you to rush in, take your enemies' castles at a fever pitch and get your warscore up to 100% so fast, even their allies will often struggle to get there in time to stop you. This is probably one of the first things to get hit by a major nerf since it's completely op right now, but as long as it's still this way, take advantage of it I say^^
yea im starting to feel a lot of man at arms are kinda shit unless you got thousands lol. for sub 1000 armies just go full siege weapons lol.
Thats how Romans conquered most of Europe so fast in actual history iirc, they had siege weapons and tactics which enabled them to Blitzkrieg
Nefing siege weapons will make the tradeoff even worse.
time to raid ppl with just seige
I’m playing as William the Conqueror. And when I first tried to go after England, I spent a good 15 minutes trying to find out how to raise my ships before I realized that you can just send your troops to the water and pay for the voyage.
Not to mention that the war in this game is not something to take lightly. It took me two to three years to beat Harold into submission and another five years to defeat Hardrade... by that point, I was exhausted😂😤
In conclusion, I love this game.
Yup. Do not start a war you aren't absolutely sure to win and make sure that:
1) your opponent was already at war very recently and therefore weakened.
2) your opponent doesn't have any good alliances or that your allies are stronger.
3) Do not hesitate to go into debt buying mercenaries to win a war. Winning a war is much more important than 5 years of debts.
LMAO XD I remember doing the same.
I thought the mechanics were same as CK2 but how wrong was I.
CK3 is definitely easier IMO though...
@@mukuro8033 I’m looking more forward to the Royal Court and the Elder Kings 2 mod. Fleet management in HOI4 is still something I never really got the hang of. I may not understand battleships, cruisers and subs, but I know my Viking Longboat😂
Thanks so much man.. Yeah you REALLY need to plan, and also be able to pivot on that plan as soon as it goes south - which it will :)
i'm a newcomer to this game series and i gotta say, you did an amazing job laying out the basics. you are very clear and concise yet staying simple in explanation which is exactly what i was looking for. thank you dude keep up the great content!
thank you so much man!! please let me know if you run into any other issues!
Minutes 2-5 you helped me more than any other guide video for quicker gameplay. Thank you.
Awesome dude thank you that's so huge

Hahahahah I'm just a very excitable person! Thanks so much for watching Nate. Always good to have you around
When in doubt - just sleep with the daughter of your arch nemesis :)

Dude I couldn't even get 3 hours into CK2 I sucked that bad. The UI is just so much better this time around. Thanks for watching brother :)
Yeah, same boat.
With which kingdom or duchy did you start
@@italianspartacus I tried CK2 and also couldn't get into it. As a totally newbie to the series I actually really like the UI in this game and can get around it pretty well. Perfect? No, but there is a ton of info cover. I also like seeing the characters in 3D, as cheesy as that is.
I'm new to the series and while the tutorial was pretty decent, videos like this are things beginners need. Thank you.
Totally agree. I have a video coming out tomorrow to help more
@@italianspartacus one thing I learned last night by accident that should have been in the tutorial is the ability to leave enough troops for a siege so the main army can go fight somewhere else. It seems obvious now but I was getting wrecked the first ten or so hours in the game simply because I thought you had to leave your entire army at a siege.
Tip 10: Always cover your assets. When your character dies, make sure you have prepared your heir correctly to fully receive all claims.
Great video!
GREAT Point man and thank you so much for watchign! :)
I'm going to be making a guide for how to start out. Just that initial portion of being pausedt:)
I'm also brand new - what I did was watch a youtube tutorial, then play the game a bit and just try it for myself, and then get back to the tutorial - this way I was able to understand much more and actually put all the info of these youtube videos in context. Also, the in-game tutorial helped me quite a bit!
The heads-up about tooltips alone warrants a like and a comment
With hooks itll allow you to control your game with less penalties. whether its to get more gold/levies from vassals, help plot an assassin, marry into stronger kingdoms, etc.
flyyhighhh it acts like settlers in civ games..the more u have the more city u will have
I bought the game when it was released yesterday and never played a CK game in my life. I 100% agree hooks should be a beginner tip because they're so damn helpful in the beginning especially if you're new at the game.
Hooks for ez money lol
go for stewardship and get the money for hooks ability. switch as soon as possible to intrigue.
enjoy infinite money. for even better results reform faith make adultery legal for men but not for women. then seduce rich woman and blackmail them.
Thank you so much man! please let me know if you have any other question :)

Veteran as well but my tip is don’t call in all allies unless dire. You lose tons of prestige.
@@jackochainsaw wtf is ''reputation?'' Don't you have an active opinion with each character already?
Jonathan Allard, I meant prestige.
@@jackochainsaw I see. I didn't know you could be negative in Prestige. It won't let me start a war without required prestige with my Kotera playthru.

I am learning by failing repeatedly
and THAT is Crusader Kings! :D
a funny interaction i have found is if you are facing an annoying vassal rebellion, while you have the abduct ability and can arrest any of the vassals with it.
they will be removed from the vassals that are rebelling, plus any vassal in prison cant join factions.

Thanks so much brother :) hope some of the tips helped
Tool tip mode was so helpful, I was going crazy with those information screens being impossible to click on.
Loved the video! This is exactly the kind of advice I was looking for.
Thank you!! Just bought the game and needed a basic understanding!!
If you’re looking for a good place to start, Iceland, you get a nice amount of claims to start with and you aren’t very susceptible to invasion

Well made video. Just started playing. Tips have been very helpful.
very glad to hear it! enjoy! :D
For the longest time I could not for the life of me find out how to declare war lol
I had to look it up :P
You can mostly siege parts of their land while their army is trying to get to you just running in circles (Bad AI lol )
If you are in a dire situation, walk slowly, check if you have prisoners you can ransom and use that gold to get mercenaries.
Or you know murder the war leader and the war disappears as inconclusive.
@@ruukinen well depending on your stats you might have bad odds on some of those ppl or no luck at all haha
@@YouCountSheep Yeah but if you are considering murder then first going for the one murder that makes a difference should be the priority over murdering a dozen or so people to even the odds.

These tips were great, man. Thanks for doing this video.
Thank you so much for watching :)
These videos are all so great! I wish I found your channel before I started playing
Wow this video was really nicely presented haha I'll make sure to plan ahead. Uyunid Empire here I come!
I am new to the game, due to 5he fact I bought CIV 6 , it was recommended by Steam, I had Money on steam and sec8ded to buy it and play for an hour and I love it
Great starter tips. From a new console player👍🏻
Love the vid Italian, never played a game like this before so this video really helped
Been looking for this every hour finally
Great tips for beginners, thanks mate!
Just your advice to approach this game with "long game" in mind, that was enough to have me catch on. Prior to that i thought this game was waaaaay too complicated.
Another handy tip for war, since he hammered in the tip of acting fast so much the wood it got hammered into splintered, ATTACK THE CAPITAL FIRST, if you are at war with a kingdom, duchy, ect, get the capital first, it gains the most amount of war score at the beginning, and sometimes rushing it may even win the war immediately [I won all of britannia just by sailing over and quickly sieging their capital, I was surprised but grateful when I saw that 0% go to 100% just from one siege alone, he wasn't even able to sail to my place [I controlled the lower half of Ireland at the time]
Even if it doesn't instantly win a war, it gives you a great hook in the war start, but be careful as the AI tend to do this very thing because it gives so much war score, so if an enemy army is heading your way to your capital and your troops outnumber then greatly, use them to head toward your capital, the AI tend to see this and back off, or if they want to stand their ground and fight, it's a fight they lose quickly.
This is so interesting how you have to approach this game!! So hard it seems
It's hard but you get used to it fast I promise!!
ItalianSpartacus Thank you so much for the information by the way! I love the presentation of your video and it helped me out a lot. My first campaign is with Björn Ironside so maybe that’ll just be a trial run haha.
