    Beginner's Guide: ua-cam.com/video/i9P248pkgYI/v-deo.html
    Thank you so much for watching today guys!! I will be making some more guides over the next few days. The Tribal to Feudal transition guide is coming, BUT WHAT ARE SOME OTHER VIDEOS YOU'D LIKE TO SEE?! WHAT ELSE ARE YOU STRUGGLING WITH! LET ME KNOW!
    If you haven't picked up the game, you can grab it through my link here: www.nexus.gg/italianspartacus . This helps me out a TON as it gives a direct commission to the channel, and depending on what time you see this, a discount to you as well.

      I have been diligently watching your guides and I am sure everyone will join me in congratulating you on the level of clarity, simplicity and efficiency that you attain in each one! They are brilliant! Well done!
      In response to your query about future videos, I would be very interested in :
      1. diving deeper into vassal management
      2. how you go about deciding how many dukes and counts to have proportional to the amount of land you own
      3. better understanding land ownership efficiency as a king, as a head of a house, as a head of a dynasty (i.e. should a king really be owning counties or only duchies and to what degree?)
      All this whilst avoiding giving too much land and authority to vassals.
      You may have already touched upon this and I would happily welcome you guiding me back to those videos. However, this area is currently where I am having difficulty.
      (ATM: 40+ hours of gameplay on tutorial to best understand game mechanics before beginning my first real experience)

      Click on the castle.. You'll see all. The building slots at the bottom? Well. Right above those and BELOW the number for levies it'll be the chief building of that holding. Select that and upgrade it. It should cost around 800 gold :)

    I really appreciate that you have such a love of history and even in a more technical tutorial like this it still comes out subtly in the way you lean away from exploits and let the mechanics of the game be part of that roleplaying. Which is great! A game like CK3 is essentially a historical roleplaying game as we all can recognize. And so having your natural reverence and excitment when exploring the historical aspects even when explaining mechanics (where its temping to go down the exploit rabbit hole) are always a pleasure and just makes me want to jump right back into a game haha. Cheers man and keep the great content comnig.

    Exposure picks one random innovation that meets the qualifications in terms of a culture being close enough and having an innovation you haven't yet discovered. It will only give you bonus for one at a time, and if no culture around you has discovered anything you haven't discovered then you sadly get no exposure bonus at all.

    • @italianspartacus
      @italianspartacus  3 роки тому +6

      Exposure will also work for any culture that shares your religion, so you SHOULD always have some form of exposure benefit

      I find this mechanic weird. It would make more sense in my opinion if exposure of one innovation was independet from the exposure of other innovations.

    CK3 really punishes you for not having a well developped realm, in ways that CK2 never could make you feel that challenge. Even with the greatest generals available you will struggle if you don't develop the military buildings in your counties, and of course you'll need to build up the financial infrastructure to support the ever increasing military spending, as you acquire better, but more costly MaA regiments.

As it can allow you to focus on development and innovations. Before this was never encouraged on CK2, but in CK3 is a good strat.

    i figured that the exposure is determined by what culture is next to another. if there is a norman culture next to french and the french has tech that i dont so i get the exposure bonus.
    so getting your culture next to as many different culture groups can boost dramatically the chances to get exposure
    use the culture menu to see where it would be good to convert and ideally choose a place relative far from your in your realm that has diversity of cultures that has techs that you dont.

  • @ariaden
    @ariaden 3 роки тому

    Idea: Find a nearby culture that is located only in a small area. Obtain a person of that culture, and let them educate (only) your primary heir. When you become the heir, convert your capital, and start eradicating the original place of that culture (maybe by murdering rulers until the place is ruled by somebody of a different culture). If that is not feasible, maybe your next heir (still of your original culture) can conquer the place and convert it, before converting themself to your capital culture.
    Now you have a culture with only one county (your capital). You are a culture head, and you can really crank up the development there. I suggest keeping the culture only to you and your primary heir, to avoid situations of a random courtier inheriting a far-off land just to convert it and mess up your development average.

    A few addendums:
    firstly, researching stuff from a past era has a bonus, some innovations from later eras obsolete ones from earlier ones, so if you have the later one don't focus on the later one.
    secondly, there's some innovations that gate other innovations in the same tier. You need to have keeps in your baronies before you can build any of the early medieval building in provinces, so researching manorialism before battlements is a waste of time.
    lastly, in my opinion, the innovation system is one of the weaker aspects of the game because you kind of have to be the culture head in order to have any influence over it. meaning it forces you to be an independent ruler, because if your liege is the same culture as you, then he's guaranteed to have more provinces than you and thus be culture head and who knows what stupid decision he'll make

    • @Zombie1Boy
      @Zombie1Boy 3 роки тому

      You dont need to be a king to have influence over a culture. 867 start as Duke of Barcelona you can culture convert to catalan and start your own culture as culture head. Great video as always but I think you're undervaluing the from neighbours effect. It's better to build Dev in one advanced county. That will have a huge from neighbours effect on all adjacent counties. That' why you should stay on Salerno.

    • @italianspartacus
      @italianspartacus  3 роки тому +1

      Oh absolutely!! But it's also the average and you run into diminishing returns where you can increase your entire domain holdings overall instead, which increases your taxes and levies. If you have 5 neighboring counties, all with 10 development, it's rhe same average if you increase all to 11 rather than one to 15 and the rest stay at 10. You might as well get the increasing benefit of taxes and levies to try and help with development across the board!

    • @arbikiuszelemelek3347
      @arbikiuszelemelek3347 3 роки тому

      Developing diffrent counties also makes sense if you hold 2 duchies that are not neighbouring each other. Like Latium(where rome is) and Sicily since the development would take ages to spill over to there

    • @Kantbei
      @Kantbei 3 роки тому

      But the higher the development, the higher the spillover effect. Whereas keeping all your regions on the same dev doesn't give the neighbor bonus. I think focusing dev on one county that's central to slot of your other counties is better for increasing average dev as a result.

    Just got the game over the weekend and playing a Novgorod campaign (867 start) to unify Russia. After conversion and some conquests, I now have the most Counties with the Russian culture, by far, but I'm still not "Cultural Head". The Culture menu even says that I have more Russian Counties than the guy who is. The only reason I could see is because he's technically an "Emperor" while I'm still just a "King" (even though my holdings/military/etc. are way larger than his...). So it seems like there's an override based on rank that wins-out over number of Counties? Has anyone else experienced this?

  • @siddislikesgoogle
    @siddislikesgoogle 2 роки тому

    Remember tha culture blending can help you add innovations from newly integrated cultures. Also, a small kingdom that grants coinage rights to vassals and focuses on scholarship, county development and culture will become technologically advanced very quickly, likely outpacing larger neighbouring realms.
    Since you will be focusing on the theology lifestyle and generate lots of piety, you could aim to form a new religion and create lots of holy orders to ensure you have a large, professional but cheap military. That way, you can leave military innovations last and focus on realm development without having to worry about getting steamrolled by warmongers.

      You play a dangerous game because you have to constantly deal with opinion issues. Also, you lose one stage of crown authority when you pass your kingdom to your heir. Your heir already has a huge negative modifier for being in a short reign, while you had a massive bonus for being in a long reign. So doing that will make succession WAY harder on you

    I wish you had addressed the possibility of having a high learning King (as cultural head) with 30-40 learning and having 150%+ fascination. (Not hard to achieve.)

    • @krzkam7792
      @krzkam7792 2 роки тому

      It is definetly not worth combining exposure with fascination. While exposure will be finished in around 50 years fascination will cut this time to around 20, in the meantime you can do two fascinations 25 years each if you leave exposure be on its own (im taking these numbers in tribal low develop counties i like to play recently and high learning skill ruler). In result you will have 3 innovation techs in 45 - 50 years instead of one a bit early if you go for exposure/fascination.
      40 learning skill is not that high, i had my mastermind philosopher in his late 50 learning at 80 points. Genius traits, some temporal events and most important, while rising your child take his future wife under your guardship too and make her most suits your needs, she can reach learning at 30 - 35 points its over 15 for your ruler.
