Inside the Chieftain's Hatch: Panzer I, Pt 1.

- Опубліковано 28 лис 2019
- Courtesy of World of Tanks, we are back with the music! (I know, it's controversial, but it's what marketing wants). The start of the Panzer line, and part 1 of a 2-part overview from Panzermuseum Munster.
This is a Wargaming funded video. Do a solid, if you haven't done so already, go try the game out, the link will associate the player with this product and reinforce that it should continue. tanks.ly/WoTChieftain
For clarification and full disclosure, ITCH now comes from two sources. The original WoT-funded and produced, such as this one, and my independent Patreon/UA-cam funded ones, such as the Panzer 61. This is obviously one of the former.
I see the editing on these are still done by drunk goblins.
Wouldn't have it any other way!
Do you have any idea how hard it is to find sober goblins who can also handle video editing equipment?
Алкаш!
Russians, m'dude
please please please for the love of god, tell who ever edits this, to mute the music looping over and over. The logo animation is also pretty jarring when it pops up for every transition.
That seems to be the general consenus. The volume of music while he talks is fine but the transition music needs to be lowered by 50% if not more.
kasajack it’s gotten quieter nowadays and the editor does a great job lowering it when chieftain talks
People have been complaining about this for YEARS! They won't do anything.
All its missing is a watermark from a trial version of some popular video editing software that was released in 2003
The marketing team wants to keep it in for some reason. Most of the time it's fine, but the transitions are pure earrape.
League of nations: Hey Germany what do you have there
Germany: ummmmm... A tractor. Yeah that's it, just a tractor, nothing to see here. The MG is for pest control.
The mg is to deal with emus. There’s emus in Germany right?
Dubspool _ No more emus in Germany. All shot.
@@herosstratos Certified only country to win a war against emus.
Just wait..... WarGaming is introducing a premium Triumph TR-7 with a 16 inch navel auto-loader cannon with an alpha of 3200 damage and a 25 round clip. The vehicle only has an average speed of 270 kph. WarGaming swears it is not over powered, and can be purchased in the premium store for $499 starting December 1, 2019.
Does any one know why the Reichswehr thought "agricultural tractor" would attract less suspicion than something like "tracked artillery hauler"? How about "Riot Control Vehicle"? -- that might be a little more believable. What Army goes around plowing farm fields, and with a custom-built tractor, to boot? I've never understood that.
Oh the poor poor boss man. Hes gonna have a hell of a time fitting in that
Yeah, he may be better off stopping at the hatch with a flashlight and a stick to point at stuff.
Yeah the secret sadist in me is looking forward to that. Still laughing at the Comet video he did, with the hatches. I am sure Wargaming will pick up his Chiropractor bill for this. I think its safe to assume there is plenty of space in an Abrams, or maybe they sawed some inches off his seat mount or something.
If he can get into a M22 Locust, he can get into a Panzer 1.
OMG, the tank is on fire!
Was thinking exactly that when I saw the video notification
Who is doing the audio editing. Everytime it cuts scene the music starts screaming
I hear a weird echo during those intermissions. Looks like the music is playing twice.
Unnecessary jump cuts and ear rape music is just lovely.
a small mercy i know, but at least the volume of the music has gone down
UA-cam needs multiple audio tracks that can be mixed on the user end; ie. so music can be turned off.
What I really like about this lecture is the low key branding and subtle sound mixing.
The editing with the intro coming up every min and background music ruin this.
I really really on with those transitions?
This was made for Wargaming for their WoT channel with the break points, the "intro" sequence, being for when he transitions between sections of the tank. The Pz.1 is just small enough that the transitions happen allot closer together than they usually do with other tanks he's done in this series.
I agree, the Music is not necessary for the Videos. Its an education Video, not a Music Video.
@Chris_Wooden_Eye Any video that The Chieftain does in conjunction with WoT support has to have this branding on it. His personal videos won't have them because he's in the same boat as us - it's freaking annoying to have constant guitar background, and loud ass intros, interludes, and outros. Although I'm curious as to whether he could edit out the background music and interludes for uploads to his personal channel.
How many times do they need to show *inside the chieftain's hatch*
But what if you forget the title of the video you're watching every 30 to 90 seconds? (INSIDE THE CHIEFTAIN'S HATCH btw)
I don't (INSIDE THE CHIEFTAIN'S HATCH) know but (INSIDE THE CHIEFTAIN'S HATCH) it's getting (INSIDE THE CHIEFTAIN'S HATCH) quite (INSIDE THE CHIEFTAIN'S HATCH) annoying (INSIDE THE CHIEFTAIN'S HATCH).
Can’t let anyone forget for a moment the pay-to-win grindfest that sponsors it
@@AgentTasmania Well given that warthunder is also a p2w grindfest, it's become the curse of f2p games
Guys im lost, is this INSIDE THE CHIEFTAINS HATCH, or is it not INSIDE THE CHIEFTAINS HATCH? I really do hope this is INSIDE THE CHIEFTAINS HATCH
Who did this edit? There were like 3 cuts in the first 3 mins that made zero sense.
@Acerbic_Zero most likely the folks over at Wargaming
I am always amazed on how the "professionals" at Wargaming INSIST on making the videos worse. Random cuts, an interlude between EVERY camera position, the music. We all know how good the videos are when Wargaming has nothing to do with editing -.-
I get that they want to make clear that they are sponsoring the video, but there are better ways to do that.
They may have been cuts because Chieftain goofed up a line and they didn’t decide to redo the whole thing. We have seen Chieftain bloopers before where he starts making a salad with his mouth...
More shocking is how long this took them.
I remember chieftain talking about this video being stuck in editing about half year ago.
Cuts can be tolerated.
However, some editor at WG keeps adding cheap electric guitar background music loop to EVERY video and it plays throughout ENTIRE video, it's annoying af. Watch Tank Chats for comparsion, it works perfectly and entertaining without any background music, another example is Forgotten Weapons
I'd much rather listen to Nick talk than hear the intro 43 times.
I KNOW this is "Inside the Chieftain 's Hatch", no need to repeat every few seconds.
Looking forward to the second part.
Idk, I wasn't sure what I was watching for a few seconds there, prolly better safe than sorry
Agreed, we don't need the title every 45 seconds
Inside the Chieftain's Hatch: The A7V:
"So now we'll look at the position of the 17th crew member..."
Halfway through the video he gets lost in the maze of a vehicle
Australian War Memorial has a few good machines that'd be worth climbing in
Inside The Chieftain's Hatch: The P.1000 Ratte
Yey, let's cut to the animated clip with super high volume between every sentence...
Make it loader to piss off people complaining about it
wow, this thing goes further on one fuel tank than a panther goes on one transmission!
So does the Panther by numbers I saw
bruh shut up
I feel like I went through twenty openings.
Love these but I think it’s high time to drop the music while you talk.
They paid 25 bucks for that music and they are gonna milk it for every cent dammnit
And the constant music at the flashy transitions
@@robin6469 Yeah, it's like they're trying to distract me from what I actually want to see in the video. I mean, The Chieftain is standing next to a genuine World War 2 tank and the video editors think overly flashy animation is more interesting? Ugh.
I don't think it's up to him mate
Matter of fact, it's literally right there in the description of the video. Not his call.
*I don’t think the music is controversial. I feel there’s pretty much a consensus in people hating it.*
ERIKA!!
I only notice the music when someone mentions it.
@@wufongtanwufong5579 go see an ear doctor
I like it. It isn't intrusive unless you are listening on a crappy phone speaker or something.
@@MrWoodii Unnecessary music is always intrusive and distractive. And I'm not even a musician, I don't have perfect pitch for instance. Think about someone who have: they could not concentrate for one second on what's being said with muzak everywhere!
Amazing how tiny it is. Will be quite "interresting" to see the chieftain-filled interior ;)
I think it will be more along the lines of "Chieftain puts on a Panzer I".
"Oh bugger, the Traktor is on fire !"
The tank museum in the uk has a command version which is slightly larger but the vehicle is still not much bigger than a ford transit van. I just hope they didn’t have to cut the chieftain out of this one .
I mean, he did fit in the M22 Locust, though that is a bit bigger than the Panzer I.
@@johnludmon7419 *_"[...] I just hope they didn’t have to cut the chieftain out of this one."_*
Once I climbed into a German _Sanitaetspanzer kurz 2-2_ [www.spz-kurz.com/assets/images/autogen/a_DSC_0516-2.gif ]. To get out again the Bundeswehr in fact had to remove the cover plate of that tiny medevac tank... *;-)*
Great video as always, annoying background music...
Yes... its back! The 6 year old's guitar loop. Awesome.
Cry more, waaaaah.
I feel like I watched the video start like 11 times. Your editor is on crack
They don't have an editor, it's just an AI controlled Windows Movie Maker
Perfect background tune. Never gets old... never annoying. Never ruins a video.
Never
*I was looking forward to watching this, but as the editors are back ruining it, I won’t even bother! Shame as the Chieftain is a great presenter!*
I have been watching your videos about tanks for sometime now. Very informative and quite well done. Today it has occurred to me that playing games at your computer, smartphone, whatever... does not give the gamer the experience of actually sitting in a tank, being thrown about as you try to drive, load, shoot or command one of these things. You sir, have sat in one of "these things," a modern Abrams of course, but even a modern tank is a steel box filled with high explosives, fuel, human sweat, a hot engine, a large gun, you get it. You've been there. It makes me much more aware of how much courage it took to crawl into one of the WW1 or WW2 tanks and trundle off to battle another steel box who has been tasked with destroying the steel box you are shooting out of. The guys who do this do it because it has to be done. I'm not sure how much "fun" it is to fight these things.
Ah the Pz 1, this should be a short episode since it’s so small. *Sees part 1 in the title* Oh dear, he’s really gonna let himself sit in there for a while. 😨
Half the video was just Inside The Chieftains Hatch animated transitions at random times
im really glad youre doing the panzer 1, these little light tanks always get forgotten about in favour of larger machines but they were just as important in the beginning. I cant wait for part 2 and i hope to see the panzer 2 and vickers light tanks when you get the chance.
The audio editing in this is messed up.
12:21 Next episode, we get to see Chieftain become stuck in the Panzer I's hatch, and become a cyborg tank ;D
i love the show. i already play world of tanks. Can i get a version without the, every 3 mins, smash cut to the "inside the chieftains hatch" and please to god change the music
Am I the only one who thought he said ''The wheels are made of Cinnamon''..... I did think for an instant, that's not very practical... but at least they would have tasted good....
D'oh! Because cinnamon rolls 😉

@@johnathanblackwell9960 TY, I'd never heard of before myself...
Appreciate the ad being at the end and your courtesy in general. Been watching these a long time, I come here to see the chief :) but WoT is worth a shot. If my computer still ran it I would be playing!
Love the series! Your honesty at the end of the video about the role of this production as a promotion and your earnest appeal for us to play the game is so refreshing that I might actually log back in to WoT for the first time in a while!
I have really enjoyed my time playing World of Tanks, and there's people I've recruited into the game still playing regularly. That being said, it feels like my interest after years is dying down. My interest in tanks has evolved from the game and these videos are something that keep me engaged. You might not see me as a new customer with that "Chieftain2019" code, but rest assure, they might just be keeping an existing customer retained.
A code for existing players would be nice. Just a little something.
Eh, used to play WoT, but I kinda left it in favour of War Thunder which I far prefer. Still watch these videos because they are brilliantly done, and because they are interesting.
Same here, played for about 3 years or so, then moved World of Warships and never looked back.
I prefer war thunder, because of the poor ballistics of WoT, but I like watching this channel just for these
Try War Thunder or the tank module for IL-2.
God this is one of the best programs on UA-cam. Thanks for these videos-very informative.
Your tank reviews are my favorite subject matter. Keep up the great work
Glad to see Inside the Chieftain's Hatch again! I definitely got into WoT because of your videos.
I am glad to see Nick get inside a truly rare machine of which so little is known. No one can explain a tank as well as him. Thank you, Deutsche tank museum!
Thanks for another cool video, Chieftain! Always enjoy these.
Man that music brings back memories, another great video mate!
Love the videos, very interesting and informative. I just don't have time for games but will keep watching.
I've been playing WoT since early 2011, think your vids are absolutely excellent.
Been waiting for this one for ages, good job
It a Bren career with a roof. The most important weapon was the radio.
Your videos got me play the game years ago. Love the videos and the games fun as well
Already watched this on the WoT channel but the Chieftain’s so great that I’m watching it again here.
I love your videos cause you show us the inside of vehicles that most people will never see
I'm absolutely amazed! Despite hundreds of comments over the years complaining about the inane obtrusive music they are still doing it. Great information for those interested in the subject completely unwatchable due to the incessant music. Please, please drop the music, it adds nothing.
I am very glad to see this video. I like all the tank videos, but early War (that's WW II) are what I want to see the most. I play a lot of War Thunder, but will give WoTs a try so signed up for it (downloading now).
My God! The title cards and music. Scale it back 99%.
Thank you Chieftain For all inside the Hatches Hope Wargaming keep it going
Wait so much for this video, you mentioned in a qna like 6 months ago!
Cheers from argentina men!
Please stop with the "Inside the chieftains hatch" and music/ graphics every 10 seconds.
Cry more, waaaaah.
It's a editing thing the vehicle is so small and has so few features those cuts become more noticeable
@@fallout0624 I thought it sounded louder since it was a smaller space inside
@@budmeister You seem like a well adjusted mature adult
I’m glad this guys is still posting content!! 😭😭🎉🎉🙏
So good to see you again, man!
I really like the way this museum does their displays.
They just got the funding to compleatly redo the museum for even better display options. But yeah one of the best things about Munster that you can see the tank up close from every angle and you can even touch them and on certain days climb inside a few of them.
I love how you advertise WoT. All these people on the internet advertising games like they are the greatest games on planet while you here just go and say "if you like it, play it, if you don't just uninstall." I love it.
THANK YOU!!! I HAVE WAITED SINCE YOU WHERE IN ARSENALEN FOR THIS!!!
Play the game, everyone.
You dont want to see Chieftain advertising Raid: Shadow Legends for the next ITCH, do you?
R:SL isn't bad game tho... I mean it's average mobile game but I liked it.
@@VladiSSius Exactly, it's an average mobile game, and the average mobile game is terrible.
@@VladiSSius I mentioned it because everyone hates the advertisement of it, that you get from virtually every youtuber under the sun, related to the game or not.
Nope WG sucks.
OK, I'm sick, I have a free weekend, sod it. I'll try if it's any better than WarThunder.
SPOILER: He doesn’t fit inside.
I was more worried about him getting out.
He fits fine. This is just for 2 guys. Like sitting in a car.
His head will be like a coupola on that turret.😊
Great content, as always!
Oh, I can't wait for he next part LOL. Nice to see these back again too! And...btw...I actually played WoT again for the first time in months tonight :o
I am not a gamer, but I love these videos. Please keep up the excellent work.
Did anyone in the B.E.F. in 1940 ask, "Hey, you know these tanks coming at us? Don't they look an awful lot like our old export tanks?"
It‘s my favourite tank. Great Work!
Yesssss! I've been so excited for this one!
Wheey been looking forward to this
Glad to see these again.
The Chieftain 12:20: "Now I get to see if I fit inside..."
That's what we all here to see too
I thought everyone came to see "Oh my God, the tank is on fire" and watch Chieftain just give up on getting out before he is on fire too. ;)
@@kemarisite He both fits and the tank masterfully passed the tank is on fire challenge thanks to the yeet-seat.
Hello this is the Chief [Cut to CGI tanks, World of tanks music plays] tain
I've been to Munster so many times whenever we visit dads old regiment when based in celle but have never made the short hop to Bovington..... sacrilege!
I play the game and have done for 4 years, and love theses videos a well.
The Chieftain is gonna be wearing that thing like a dress.
"suspension gets a tad complicated, for starters ..." it is German
I play and have been playing for years now on console and I love these videos
We have the only original surviving "Mephisto" A7V in Queensland Australia captured by the Qld Horse in WW1.
i have been to that museum in person it is a very cool panzermuseum in germany and the panzer1 was a very cool little tank to see
"Strange Dirty Oil".... Thanks for the Video, Sir. ;o)
Thank you anyway for your work & service sir (and whichever and whomever camera minions you have) ;)
"...the trailing idler is of course much bigger than the other vehicles..." @6:37
Ah, I see you're running a secret competition to guess the correct wording... I shall choose 'wheel'.
Aw bless Mr. Moran, even he has the occasional Jingles moments too, so to speak.
*Slaps roof of Panzer 1*
"This bad boy isn't even up to my shoulders"
Love the series Nic. but please let marketing know the editing break animations are a bit much. Itd be grand to have your outtakes in place of them. :)
i've been waiting for the Panzer I for so long
Nice little MG carrier :-) Makes me want one
And this tank is still in working condition. Awsome!
That suspension reminds me a bit of the suspension used for locomotive driving wheels. Those also have hinged suspension levers connecting pairs of adjacent wheels. The levers are called "equalizers", because they act to equalize the ground pressure (and thus, the traction) between each pair of wheels when one wheel goes over a bump, so you don't get a wheel slipping or derailing.
Krupp built locomotives long before they built tanks. I wonder if a previous locomotive wasn't identical in that respect. No doubt they were quite familiar with other designers products,so in that sense they had a wide variety of stiff suspensions to choose from.
the first tank in aussie was a guy called ned kelly, the first tanks in europe where those guys on horses called knights
Please tell marketing that as far as the music and the editing with that intro/theme animaton is concerned, there seem to be an object of some sort to be lodged inside their collective rectum, and that I can't shake the suspicion, that this object is in fact their own collective cranium...
according to youtube auto-translate, the first roadwheel is made out of cinnamon.
just thought I'd put this out here. lol
Fucking finally!
I remember chieftain talking about it being stuck in edit at least half a year ago!
U know da music aint all that bad lol every time I hear it I know you comin lol and yes I play da game got like 125 tanks and your series of shows are 1 of the reasons I play
I got 4 minutes in before the constant music and video links finally did my head in.
In before comments about the ITCH Background Music.
Would editor consider changing the background music by now? Something else... please...
Something with lower volume at least...
Or less transitions
Mr. Moran’s lecture is more than enough to keep my attention by itself. Don’t need all the extras.
Think he just have to stick world of tanks on the screen as many times as possible same thing as at the end.
It's been 7 years, same music loop.
I like these videos from World of Tanks. They always gives me the urge to play War Thunder tanks..
I don't know why but the angle on the thumbnail makes the tank look weirdly elegant
its been a over year since you announced this its about damn time
God I love this tune
"Hans, whatcha got there ? A tank ? You know those are prohibited by Versailles."
"Nein, this is der tractor for agriculture. Machinegun is to kill ze crop destroying boars, nasty stuff."
Francois over on the German border nods, "can I borrow that? Damn boars are eating my best fields!"
Registered & used your code, I played WoT a few years ago, interesting to see how it's evolved. Can't wait for Pt2.
What does the track system have to do with the fording depth? I thought that was limited by the intake height of the engine and/or the depth at which water floods the hull?
love these
pfew i was worried we'd never see an inside the hatch again with all the other video's that have been put up
