Good work, lad! Nice to see a famous beauty like 3801 back in steam again. 200 tons of rock n’ roll. Would be awesome to see her paired with the Garratt 6029 at some stage. 38s and the 60s were regular sights together in the 60s especially going up the Central Coast route. No to mention the hauling mighty coal trains too! A good mate of mine said just the other day that he loved travelling almost 4000 km from WA to the Newcastle area to see these beauties running in the 60s. Got some pretty nice footage on his old camera back then. As I always say, Declan, if we had drones and 4K cameras back in those days, imagine the footage we could’ve got ay? Amazing. Great work as always and thanks for sharing. Cheers Caleb
Wonderful clip mate.........note the horses on the move, they're clearly not sure what the heck is this thing coming. It's most likely that they've never seen a living, breathing steam loco before, LOL!!
Short but bloody phantastic vid! Thanks for sharing and greetings from a European railwayman!
Really excellent camera work. It shows 3801 to its greatest effect.
This was a great trip behind her last Friday. Great fun. Reached just over 100kph a couple of times.
Many memories of travel by steam from my childhood. Great to see again!
Wonderful! As soon as the first tickets come out for the 3801’s first ride since 2007 I’ll be lucky to get a seat!
Awesome footage. This video really highlights the beauty of steam power.
