This is my Assassin’s Creed inspired hidden blade 3D model (Syndicate edition) equipped with a unique mechanism, every single detail of that is 3D printable, except for a nylon cord. There’s no need for screws, nuts, springs, magnets, ball bearings or even rubber bands. All you need is 100g of standard PETG filament and a piece of nylon cord (0.6-0.8mm thick).
An assembly approach has been inspired by the handguns assembly process, which can be done in a matter of seconds by using no tools. By combining several functions in each detail of the mechanism I managed to reduce the overall number of them down to 11. - Навчання та стиль
He cracked the code as to how the hidden blade worked. Video game scholars and avid assassins creed fans have been theorizing this for years! Some thought it wasn’t possible, be he finally proved them wrong.
It wouldn't be able to sustain a single stab 😅
It's a very impressive design. I do wonder if all those parts would handle actual stabbing. Even if it was made out of a more sturdy material. With all those tiny moving parts, it could potentially break down under use.
@@binkbonkbones3402I would say functionality comes before “field-testing”. Better to make sure it works with a cheaper prototype than go all out for something that won’t work.
@@XxSTEVE559xX even metal this wouldn't stab right
@@binkbonkbones3402listen it might work, don’t be a buzzkill. It’s cool af
immediately purchased
How did you buy it
@@eviafamily7898😅
@@eviafamily7898he bought the 3D print down load and built it if you wanna 3D print there’s a good chance your local library has one for public use for free or a fee

Wish I had this when I was kid making them out of drawer slides
I remember that and you had to flick it open yourself and then lock it well with the one I’ve seen 😂 gotta love improvements
We done came a long way
I thought I was the only kid doing that too, so many countless days in the garage 😂
Beautiful get this as prototype and gave it to someone who can cast an actual iron = masterpiece
Hacksmith made one recently
@@SophisticatedFilms 🤩 dang, Looks like I missed something gotta watch that now thanks!
When I got my printer on February, a hidden blade is a must to print! Besides static props, this will be my first mechanical one! Cant wait, thank you for this!
What model ?
@@TAYGETAnguyen Elegoo Neptune 3 Plus! Elegoo also has a bigger model called the Max I believe? And a new line called Neptune 4.
I got my 3 Plus for $350, but rn they’re $300. The 4 Plus is $350 rn. I don’t have any clue about the Neptune 4 line (besides they can go faster), so I recommend reviews and what not, but the Neptune 3 are phenomenal 👌🏼
neptune 3 is really good and maybe even better then neptune 4 due to the neptunes 4 fast moving plate it makes unstable builds. if you ever want to upgrade your neptune 3 id recommend neptune 3 max
Now hire a metal manufacturer
lol 😂
Ok it is decided, adding 3D printer to the bucket list
Bro! i see this is from months ago but i hope you got a printer and got into it! its a blast.

Hi man, the supports you put on the blade carriage dont show up in my slicer as being there, but the slicer also cant put supports there because there 'is' something there. is there any chance of you uploading a version with no supports?

My favorite vid on yt, so cool, amazing work
Such an ingenious mechanism. Wonderful work.

incredible mate, subscribing and purchasing asap
How?
@@eviafamily7898 theres a link in the description for the file
I've bought the files and printed every part multiple times. 1 out of 6 blades worked. Also, his files replaced the spring with a more compact piece that gets caught on the casing and moves around
Hi! The files were successfully tested over 100 times so if something goes wrong it’s just a matter of appropriate settings (usually the reason is a “flow” percentage). Please read a troubleshooting PDF guide which is included in the folder with STL files, probably you’ll find a solution you need. If not please contact me via Instagram (sonndersmith) and describe your issue more specifically. UA-cam comment section is the worst place to ask me a technical question because I rarely check it.
Fantastic design!!!!
Love this design i like how ot could also work in a single tier designs as well
Thank you! This mechanism won’t work with single blade designs, but I’ve already come up with another one that will work. At the moment it’s just an idea that I have to test and optimize but if it’s not going to be as good as I expected I’ll find another solution.
I need this in my life
A metal one would be sick
needs a safety and or bypass. lets your hand and the ring loop move without activation
The ring can be taken off
@@omni0414 that's not really helpful if you wanna use this mechanism in any meaningful way. of course it can be, but doing so effectively means it cant be used in any short timeframe.
this could be adapted for legitimate defense and or tool use. you could use this to quickly deploy a tool one handed - like for those working on roofs or buildings.
if you're going to take the ring on and off, the whole thing becomes useless because it requires two hands, specifically fingers. in that case, you're better off just using your tool normally.
an actual safety/bypass would turn this from a toy/novelty into something legitimate.
@@lostspktre I suppose a workaround would be adjusting the length of the string, so that if you want to engage the blade, you'd have to deliberately move your hand back in a way you wouldn't casually do so
Dude it's a COSPLAY PROP.....what more do u want
@@bobbeebottlezzNYC hey dude, relax. the fact that it's a cosplay prop doesnt mean anything - because it's a few tiny changes from being completely functional. i promise you this. 3D guns work the same way...
so what more do i want? the tiny changes that make this into a completely viable system. because it's incredibly close.
Your channel has potential no doubt
This is beautiful
Ammnra made one of these back in 2011 but i like the newer design and function of the wheel
You should totally make a pivot blade
Yeah, it’s one of the HB versions I’m going to replicate. Subscribe to my channel in order not to miss it!
Now just put it into a cnc and make it a metal version 👍👍
brilliant. not since iamdeepain have I seen such innovation.
Absolute banger, what a beauty❤
Thanks!
You got to make a model for this so I can print it that looks lit
Ok I need to get my hands on a 3d printer now
You may need to make a metal one with a strong spring and lock system
How do you not have more subscribers your videos are so good better then mine and Hacksmith recognizes you
That's was cool mechanism
Now we just need to make one out of metal.
Now I need a 3D printer, I’ve wanted one for a while but now I need one, especially since I’ve been so obsessed recently with the hidden blades since I got assassins creed nexus VR
Is the 1% the string?
Predator blades next Pleaseeee!!!!!!!! 😱😍❤️🙌🏻
Most Impressive!
Now time to make the pieces in metal😈
Works like a car engine. Very cool

Dude! You did it?!?!?!? TAKE! MY! MONEY!!!!!!
I bought the files I am so excited to start printing
"Shut up and take my money!!!"
Genius
Thats very close to the lore aka the hidden blade made by leonardo da Vinci in ac
Very intelligent
dawg how do i buy this
You can make a lot of money if you do this:
Go and ask a cuple big knife companies to make it into a real knife (i love the idea )👏👏
Time to get a 3d printer
Wow thats a genius design! I tried to make one of these when i was 10 but i failed to make it retracting aswell. I now have a 3d printer so i gotta try it out
5 bucks, thats worth it, ima buy tomorrow
the spindle inside is like the ubisoft logo
Please my good sir! Post this build so others can follow in your footsteps!
HERE TAKEY FKING MONEY AND I WANT TWO!!!
Wow 🎉
Just saw this, AWESOME. can't wait to print it. Could you please try a double blade mechanism like in the Predator movie. THANKS
I would buy in a heartbeat if I saw files for it
That’s a great idea, thank you! I can’t promise that I’ll make it very soon but I’ll let you know once it’s done.
@@sonndersmith
Great, thanks
@@keifer242the idea of the predator blade would be cool, but arguably less effective since the assassins creed blade is much wider allowing for defensive shielding and overall more material to defend with unlike the predator version.
Am I the only person wondering what would happen if you made these with steel and a CNC machine?
That thing would pop in and out like crazy during actual combat 😂, you will most likely lose the fight from self inflicted stab wound to your wrist.
I want a real one to primarily use for self defense
Dont we all
Sadly it’d probably be pretty illegal
Look it's a good looking weapon but *don't* get yourself killed. There is *ALOT* of reasons it wasn't used by assassin's for self defense which are the following reasons. Skip to the bottom for a summary, read the points for accuracy.
1. The hidden blade is a highly mechanical system, if it is struck by a blade permanent damage is all but guaranteed to the mechanism.
2. It is awkward compared to a traditional blade and do to that awkwardness, it will be not only hard to find a mentor but nigh impossible to self teach with it or comfortably use in a fight.
3. It's design puts you in three major disadvantages in a duel.
You don't control the blades edge, the edge controls your arm, something like a knife would be leagues ahead on which are things like dexterity and adaptability.
Range, the length of any blade is the most important factor and a blade must accomplish two things, easy to move with and long enough to keep enemies or threats away while hitting the threat before they could dream of hitting you. Although the hidden blade is beyond average on ease to move and conduct yourself with, it will find itself out-ranged by even the most pathetic of daggers.
Finally we have kinetic energy. Every proper dueling blade and alot of daggers allows the option to put two arms of strength into but it is physically impossible to use two handed techniques with a hidden blade.
So in summary it fulfills *NONE* of the criteria except freedom of movement with it not being not even a moch image of any means of proper safety as a primary self defense tool. It would be great as secondary defense tool however in both ranged self defense as it wouldn't have a draw delay of notable length if needed and in a close encounters, if your primary was taken from you, it would be nigh impossible to realistically take the blade from you and in this case, small size helps as a secondary as it won't get in the way of your primary or your life.
Edit: I realized you said "primarily" and not "primary" after typing this. I will leave this here for random notifications years down the line.
A normal knife is more practical
can i buy this anywhere???? this is AWESOME
Wow and you dont even have to cut a finger off!
He's DAVINCI!!!!
Very Nice! Do you sell this, if so where? 😀
ok next to my chrimast wish list : a laser cutter so that i can replicate this in metal :3

Hey Sonndersmith!
I’m literally fangirling with your amazing work! xD
I’m excited when I get my first 3D printer and print this out! :DDD
Thank you so much for making this, and absolutely keep creating more of these genius masterpieces! 🙏💖🔥
Ubisoft logo easter egg inside
PLEASE PLEASE WHERE CAN I BUY??
Can u please teach me how the mechanism workssss
My question is, can it be made with more structural parts made with resin or polymer for stability
Also do you think if I printed the shells in pla and everything else in pteg it would be fine?
The circular sheet at the end, what is it's purpose and how does this work
Make the overall body and blade more sturdy, make it out of aluminum, and add an extremely thin absorbing rag for the blood. Done.
all you gotta do is print it out of metal
It looks good, perfect for cosplay.
But the real question is how much force can that mechanism take? I would be curious, if made out of sensible materials (not 3D printed) to see it limit tested for compressive stress, shear and bending, during stabbing and slicing motions.
Just for... Science
Thanks! Two-tier hidden blade design like that and like many other versions is not the best option to make it out of metal, because it can’t be strong enough in contrast with one-tier designs like Black Flag or Phantom versions. They can’t be built on this mechanism but I‘m already working on another one.
I wanna see it metal casted
Sooooo where do I buy it👀👀👀👀
Where can I get one
Where's the pinned comment?
My 3d printing skills need help, can we just purchase this assembled?
Does it have a locking mechanism when the blade takes impact?
I need one
Can you show the plans for imprint it?
How much for a full 3d printed hidden blade exactly as the one you have made here delivery and shipping included will pay 4
But if the blade is out can you stil stab with it and if you do does it stay in place?
Yo he made the mechanism with a ubisoft logo
