If you’re having trouble applying the hot glue because your gun is big and bulky, try using Shoe Glue instead. It dries in 2-3 minutes and holds stronger than I expected with popsicle sticks. It’s quite an alternative for hot glue. Also you can use two strings to connect the trigger and the ring. This will make it more heavy duty, suits for everyday use.

Nice video. Great tutorial. I think it would be cool if a wrist-mounted smartphone case worked like this. Basically, imagine if instead of the blade popping out, it was my smartphone. So when I want my phone in my hand, it just appears, and when I want my phone put away, it goes back to my wrist.

Okay so I'm gonna start this with a disclaimer: this is genuinely impressive and I personally would not be able to do this on my own. I also would not be able to implement any solutions to my two issues with this design, which are:
a) there is no retraction mechanism, you need to activate the trigger mechanism while the blade is extended, then physically push the blade back in.
b) this is a nitpick I have about all irl hidden blades, in lore the blade is triggered by a button on the inside of the bracer, activated when you flex a certain muscle in your forearm, not a ring, where would an assassin even wear a ring? They have to remove that finger as a show of commitment to the creed.
Still cool tho and as I say, b is a nitpick
(Also sry for the essay)
I get the lore but it's kind of flawed because 1) It requires the users forearm muscles to be a certain size in order to activate the blade, or each gauntlet would have to be tailored to the individual wearing it and 2) The assassins using this blade have to climb things all the time which requires a lot of wrist flexion and extension (meaning the blade would be activated whilst climbing all the time) leading the blade to be dulled and damaged every single time it extends and hits stone, bricks, or any hard surface typically used in construction. It makes way more sense to have a ring that can be taken off whilst climbing and put back on before and after use. Assassins have other fingers to put the ring on so I see no problem with a ring. A retraction mechanism would be cool but realistically if you're stabbing someone to death, your knife is drawn the entire time and only put back into it's sheath when you're done (so with this blade design, you'd have the time needed to reset the mechanism after you're done with the dirty work). The real problem with this design is that it doesn't allow the user to actually stab anything, the only power that is available comes from the release of tension within the bands which fire the blade out. After that, if you go for a second stab the blade will just be pushed back into it's case. Even if the blade was a sharp metal blade, you'd still have the same problem. Considering it's made out of easily available, cheap materials it's one hell of a good job at creating a hidden blade that looks the part.
B is a nitpick...and not true none of the Assassin's after Ezio needed to do that....
