Have listened to this since I can't remember. Love the idea behind it, the chord progressions, the keyboards both carrying the melody and providing the background, wonderful tune.

Wouldn't call this underrated brotha.. 👍
I went on a date with a girl in 1978 to see Al Stewart in Philadelphia. We were both Eighteen at the time. It's been a long time since I've heard this song but when every time I do ,she comes rushing back into my memory. I wonder if she has the same thoughts....
I cant help it everytime I hear this song, even though all of this time has passed by, I fall in love with it all. Over again. It's a perfect song with the perfect balance of everything. God bless you al for creating such a timeless classic.
The lyrics to this are so underrated - she comes out of the sun in a silk dress running like a watercolor in the rain. That is a great line.
The entire album is wonderful. Still have the eight track tape.......
Stephanie Eveland "And her eyes shine, like the moon in the sea" Beautiful.

And we're still here, brother, in the year of the cat. Certainly one of my favorites, ever.
This is one of those songs that does something to the soul. It takes you on a journey where you realise there’s more to life than most of us see or know.
Talking about "Solid Gold" This song is Solid Gold. This song was released way ahead of its time!!!!

I was about to criticize your writing, but then i realized that you are either Portuguese or Brazilian!! my bad bro..
@@marcosmendonca3780 totalmente cierto
