I was coming to the end of a student exchange course in what then the Soviet Union. I saw Al Stewart back in 1985 in Santa Fe, performing in a small discotheque. When we saw the announcement we were wondering if it was really THE Al Stewart, but as it turned out it was him. Knew his hits from the 70's all too well, so had to be at the concert.
People sitting on the ground, listening to this concert and after all these years I can still say this was one of the best concerts I have ever been to. What an incredible musicians, each of them playing 3 or 4 instruments, flawlessly changing over. Was already a fan before this concert, but after that concert I was a fan for life. And that is now almost 40 years ago.
