We had such an amazing time prepping the Fijian Palusami for our lovo feast! There are so many delicious things to eat in Fiji! Although we cooked our palusami in a traditional underground oven, you can easily recreate the recipe at home in your oven!

IFrom what I have noticed after traveling to Fiji is that ..even though it’s a traditional native Fijian dish , this is cooked and lovo is done in all households in Fiji ..regardless of ethnicity. If anything, this food is what brings the country together ❤️

Totoka ... however if you don't like garlic, crumble in a stock cube or Maggi Flavouring instead

Has it always been mutton or do they sometimes use corned beef? Trying to make this for my fijian father in NZ

May be too late for the answer but I have most commonly seen it made with corned beef, though I've also had it with corned mutton, tin fish, or even with little chunks of chicken. I guess it just depends on preference. But in my experience, corned beef is most common.
