    Poor Dale. He must be really afraid of heights. If he would've gotten any flatter he would've been one of the deck boards himself! Good job climbing up there and helping out Dale, despite your fear!! And you've gotten your dad and sister in on the vids, when do you convince mom to show up and be part of the action??? Building your bus has to be a family affair!! Thanks for another great vid!

    Or is there something I'm missing?

    • @FotoFlex1
      @FotoFlex1 4 роки тому

      You're absolutely right, they will be blinding i.s.o. lighting up the deck, not practical at all. Also, placing that propane tank on the roof is asking for problems safety wise.... These are not very wise decisions he eventually will come to regret......

    • @sepudo1950

    I really love your deck idea, and that's what I'll do on my shuttle bus. But, ... BUT I have the lights. If I want to look at the stars, I don't want to be blinded by these lights. I'll go with some siding lights that only lit down the floor, not lit up in my face. But the deck, no.1 idea for me. Tks.

    not sure if its a good idea to mount a propane tank up there and have it sitting in the full sun
    might be better to put an automotive propane tank under the bus (you need you temporary unscrew the feed part from the tank and remove the pickup tube inside it to stop it sucking up liquid gas) and only have a hookup point for a rubber line with a tap to open it (if you where planning on putting a grille up there)
    not sure how it is in the states but over here we can fill our own auto style propane tank at the pump station (should save you some money too)

    Nice build, well thought out with the single exception of the gas tank. Others have mention low clearance, but there are still bird strikes and road thrown gravel to worry about too. (I know that 11 plus foot is a streach but I have seen it done.) My suggestion is to get a galvanize steel bumper tool box to put your gas bottle in. That way it is protected against anything but a low clearance bridge. A better suggestion is to use a larger bottle placed in the "possum belly" and refill smaller bottles for the roof deck from it. (Possum belly meaning an under body compartment, most often used as extra storage or luggage carrier.) Just food for thought.

    2 problems I see:
    1. The lights shine vertical making it difficult for you to see the deck floor and elsewhere.
    2. Running the lights in series poses the issue if one light goes out then they all go out. 80's and earlier Christmas light dilema...
    Otherwise GREAT WORK.

      They are stained with a deck sealer

    honestly, i feel like a deck on any roof on any size vehicles is such a wasted space that could have solar panels to make more power. yeah i get u wanna lay up there and look at stars, but like it still can be done on ground too

    One accidental "Low Clearance" with a propane tank on the top is going to ruin your whole day.

      The final deck will be 11.2 ft and I’ll be adding a railing in the next video. But, it would make for a bad day otherwise😂

      @@navigationnowhere Is the rail going to be 'bumper' strong? I doubt it. Hitting anything at speed is definitely going to ruin your day. Low Clearance signs aren't always accurate. Had a paving grew reduce clearance by 3" nearby, no-one noticed until a truck went under that would have been fine with the old measurement...
