Decking Out The School Bus Conversion | New LED's and Roof Top Deck

- In this video, we start the installing the rooftop deck on the short bus conversion and set all the mounting poles for the deck boards, we finalize all the exterior lights and install all new LED's, and seal up the interior metal floor so that we are ready for sub floor install.

As a long time school bus and van contractor, I can tell you that the large size brake/tail and turn signal fixtures are made as an exact replacement for the old bulb style fixtures. They are available at your local Blue Bird , Thomas , or IC school bus dealers. Also School Bus Parts or Bus Parts Warehouse and several other parts suppliers have same fixture. They would save a lot of time and work for installing without modification of the holes ! Just a word to make life a little easier. The school bus parts manufacturers have thought of everthing !

I put them same headlights in my Express and they make a huge difference. I love them.
I am already happy with them and the best part is that they don't shine really high so it does blind other people
There is so much more involved with a bus conversion than I would have imagined ... so much better than an overdone RV, though. I'm really enjoying this.

I use Locktite Power Grab X8 glues metal together 24 hour cure time.Works better than welding sheet metal! if you make a mistake you will have to cut it out!
Led's are the only way to go.

Since you didn't use carriage bolts to attach the wood cross beams to the steel frame, you should caulk around the countersunk bolt heads. Otherwise water will accumulate around the bolt head rusting the bolt and rotting the wood. Looking good so far.
Thanks, it’s not on film but everything was caulked and sealed before it was final installed.

LED Turn-signals, will REQUIRE an "ELECTRONIC" flasher unit.
Because they draw insufficient current to trigger old-fashion flasher-units.
I switched mine out with no problems.
Love your videos only thing that drives me nuts is the same song/tune on repeat for20-30 mins...maybe consider adding more variety to your audio choices? Bus is looking really good though! Can’t wait til you get to the inside!

Navigation Nowhere maybe consider a platform like soundstripe or artlist. i use them both for commercial videos. there are thousands of songs and you can find certain albums/playlists/artists that have the right vibe so your videos can have different songs but the same feel to them
The lights look great!
Small explanation on the relays.. Normal relays are configured for load. Each bulb pulls a fixed amount of load. the relay is configured to blink faster if that load drops (like when a bulb burns out) to notify you there's a problem. When you replace the regular lights with the very efficient LEDs the load goes to nearly 0 so the relay buzzes like that. They make LED relays that don't have this feature and simply click on a timer.

Im using 1/4x 1/4 inch rivets to fill holes in floor on mine!

To avoid having to replace the flasher they may a load bar to put in at the lights to make the flasher work properly. I would have added plugs on the lights instead of hard wired in this way when something happens to the lights just put a new plug on the light and plug it in this way the wiring won't get to short. But looking good and while you're up there I think it's Tampabaybusmarket for so Florida ones
