    Regarding the top of the wheel well boxes. You could save time in the future by slapping a slightly oversized square on it, nail it down, and run a flush trim bit around it. No scribing needed and a perfect fit every time.
    I'm in love with flush trim bits for saving time, so I'm a bit biased.

    Hey Mike. Love how the build is coming along. 😁 question: what are you planning to mount over that wheel well box? ( the side you were exploring having a chair in front of) If it’s just a storage area, why not split the difference, have a drawer, and mount a seat atop it? Then you would have enough room for a table for two.

      Mountain bike rig sound awesome. Ivan will eventually be 4x4 and raised slightly. The chassis is the same Chevy 3500 you will find on similar vans. The only difference is the wider body by about 1 ft to 1.5 ft. I went with the bus over the van simply because it had the same footprint with a slightly wider body.

  • @failbox.
    @failbox. 4 роки тому

    You mentioned not wanting to run the 120v through conduit.. is there a reason why you wouldn't want to run that/all your wiring through conduit?
    Just imagine future issues could be made simpler with it. I know it would drop the r-value of insulation in spots but the tradeoff might be worth it in the longterm.
    Super curious of your thoughts on pros/cons of this.
    Loving the series either way man! Can't wait to see more on Navi Jr!

    • @navigationnowhere
      @navigationnowhere  4 роки тому

      In this case I only have the two lines so it’s not something I am at all concerned about. (My other bus has a lot more 120v run so it’s all in conduit and all over. As for the 12v, I set up various distribution locations so I won’t have any need to pull a wire behind a wall. It would only be through cabinets or built ins.

    I’m enjoying your build and looking forward to the ebook. I’m a single female* looking to do a build to live FT. I would like a short schoolie, but would love to be able to bring a Vespa type scooter for travel when I land (I plan on staying in a place 3-6 months at a time). I’d love to know your thoughts about how best to pull that off. I’ve been sleeping on a sofa for years, so o don’t need a big bed.
