- Guitar and Synthesizer demo of SolidGoldFX's fuzzy filter monster, the Lysis MkII Fuzz Modulator.
Available for purchase at: thepedalzone.com/lysis-mkii/
If you’ve followed my channel for a while, then you know I absolutely adored the original Lysis and its dubby dirt tones. The MarkII contains the same crushing octave down fuzz tones and impressively bold low and high-pass filters, but takes it all a massive leap forward by adding two new pitch voices, two new filter wave shapes, a resonance control and a ton of different filter patterns alongside the much requested tap tempo and CV control.

This guy is hands down my favorite pedal dude on UA-cam. He really shows how creative you can get with the pedals and it's really inspiring. Not meant to disparage other UA-camrs of course.
Because of watching this channel, Solid Gold FX is becoming one of my favorite pedal makers up there with Cooper Fx and Walrus audio!
That’s too cool!!! Honored that my videos have helped put this killer company on your radar 😊
Hey everybody! It's great to be back with another demo, and what a way to kick it all off again with a new version of one of my absolute favorite fuzzy synth pedals, the SolidGoldFX Lysis MkII. Hope you dig it as much as I do. If you do, then a comment, like or a share is always so appreciated. As always, thank you for being awesome
Where can I find some of your music? You got a band or anything of the sort?
14 minute video… my checkout was complete 12 minutes in. This sounds massive. Thanks Stefan!!!
That's too rad, man! You're gonna love this thing ❤ It is just a monstrously epic pedal.
Sounding HUGE!!! You bring the tastiest of licks throughout my friend. I hope you’re well; best demo per usual. All my love.
Thank you so much, my friend. Your support always means a lot to me. And it is indeed a massive sounding pedal ☺
dude, your demos are the best on youtube.
Oh wow! Thank you so much ❤
Never understand how a channel with such high quality has less than 500k subs. Tbh, it feels like I'm watching UA-cam premium. Your videos look so expensive and a literally vibe ( side note, I didn't play guitar at all. I just love to roaming around this channel because it's total *cheff kiss* )
HOLY HELL!!! Incredible playing, my friend. What a massive monster sounding pedal!! Cracking demo Stefan, you creativity always astounds me and those filters... Jeepers, so awesome. CRUSHING SWEEPS>>YES!! The Microfreak bit was Huge!! Wow man...
Bruh, I left the video playing while I was doing other stuff. What a vibe, this was amazing.
The pedal is amazing, but you make them better
Wow! So kind of you. I'm honored to hear that my demo could act as the soundtrack to your day ❤
Fuzz modulator is the perfect name - I’m blown away by all the uses and sounds you pulled out in this fantastic demo! A lot is down to your expertise, but SGFX really is hitting home runs with all their releases. Definitely have the Lysis MkII high on my GAS list. Thanks for the awesome showcase, Stefan!
Oh boy! Thank you so much! SGFX are definitely on a roll, and Lysis MkII just cements their status as one of the most consistently awesome pedal brands at the moment.
Love how you used the ramp footswitch to cut to a basically fixed LPF. Guessing the ramp was set all the way down? Brilliant- excellent overview and playing Stefan 👏
Cheers, buddy! Yeah, it really brings a neat studio trick directly to your pedalboard 😊 The RAMP was actually only just set a nudge below noon. I felt like the filter closed too fast otherwise. Your support always means a lot, buddy. Absolutely adored your demo as well. You're such a talented musician!
Great video, Stefan! What a wild machine.
Thank you so much, man! Yeah, it’s hella wild and so much fun 🤩
Oh man! I'm really loving what this pedal can do! On my short list for sure! Thanks for the killer demo! 😎🤘🎸
Happy to hear you dig it. It's such a monster pedal. A real blast to explore. And thanks for the kind words about the demo. Means a lot!
OMG, this might be the pedal I've been waiting to splurge on! It sounds amazing, and your playing is stellar as usual.
Thank you kindly. Splurge away! A ton of beastly tones await you 😊
Missed you Stefan! Always showcasing pedals I did not know I needed 🖤
Awwwww! And it's good to be back. Your kind comments always make my day 😊 Happy you liked the pedal. It's killer!
I always know that I’ll enjoy your demos
Keep doing what you’re doing man
You play to pedals really well
Oh wow! Thank you! Your kind words truly warmed my heart this morning ❤
Very versatile and full of different sounds. That's the kind of pedal I want to have in my setup.
Spot on! Versatility is key and this thing brings it!
Really really cool sounds out of it!! Great demo!!
Thanks a lot! It's such an inspiring device 😊
Really love how you showed off the filter! Great stuff here
Thanks, man! The filter has always been the star in Lysis, and it only got better in the new version. Means a lot that you think I did it justice 😊
great demo Stefan, love that you added a synth portion as well in the demo
Cheers, man! Yeah, I always try to include segments with other instruments than guitar, and recently the Arturia Microfreak has completely stolen my heart. Such a great synth, and it plays so well together with pedals.
Awesome pedal. Awesome review. Awesome playing and creativity.
Oh wow! Thank you very very much!
Great demo...loads of insights and you PLAY this pedal so well Stefan....
lottsa support from Australia
Thank you very VERY much!
As usual it’s by far the best demo of this kind of pedal on the internet at the moment. I don’t understand how you can both do the most in depth looks as well as showing off the versatility of a pedal. One thing I would have wanted to see a bit more of is its interaction with other pedals and pedal order, how does it handle reverb before it? As well as stacking overdrive/boost before or after it? I feel like I could watch you demo this pedal for so much longer than this video, great job Stefan.
Very cool jam at the end. Fuzz and Modulation awesome pedal.
Thank you!! Happy you enjoyed it. And yes, it's a hella awesome pedal 🙌
Omg it's a monster!! Great vid!
Yeah, it's a beast! Really happy you liked the video. Means a lot to me
The Great Stephen Returns! Hope all is well!!! Your demos are very inspirational with out the ego!
Ha! Thank you so much. All is indeed well here 😊
Thanks alot. Ive been looking for a cheaper pedal than the tars that does filter sweeps with an expression pedal. Im definitely getting this pedal now.
Ending jam is very reminiscent of the Metroid Prime games. In other words, awesome!
RAAAAAD! Really happy you liked it!
solidgoldfx killing it, Stefan killing it. yes, yes
❤️❤️❤️
Pretty epic Stefan ✊🏼
Thank you so much, man! The epicness comes from the pedal though. Such a beast!
sounds very powerful
It is indeed a mighty and powerful pedal ☺
yay for the microfreak appearance! :)
Yay! Such a fun instrument. One of the best purchases I've ever made
Great work
Thank you so much 😀
As usual, you have made me question the completeness of my pedalboards, lol. Great demo, Stefan!
Haha! Well, being curios and questioning the status quo is an important life skill, so I'm glad I'm able to impart that 😂 Really happy you liked the demo!
Nice. I saw 'fuzz modulator' and wasn't that interested, but it's so much more. In fact it feels like the fuzz is mostly there to give the filter circuit something to chew on.
The fuzz is rad on its own, but you're right, it does indeed play a big part in providing the filter with some wild harmonic content, so it can come to life. Happy to hear the pedal was able to capture and hold your attention. It's a beast 😊
Solidgoldfx has been killing it lately!
Totally!!! They have been on fire since they released the OG Lysis a couple of years ago. Such a rad company!
@@thepedalzone I've got their apollo II, and it might be my favorite phaser I've ever tried.
Oh this... this might have to be my fuzz. I love all the modulation options. I noticed you've been using the Jackson fuzz in your videos. Any plans to review that pedal?
Fuzz Octave heaven it is. From the first sounds the fuzz, clean pitch sounds and the whole demo you gave a masterful demonstration of the power the pedal has with tasty sounds. G.A.S. at its maximum. Thank you keep rocking. Do you happen to know if they will upgrade the 76plus pedal too???
Awww, man! Thank you. Really happy to hear you enjoyed the sounds so much. I don't know if the 76 Plus will get a similar treatment. But I'm sure if you ask Greg and the rest of the SGFX team nicely, then they will definitely consider it 😊
When working with micro-freak, the square wave sound is surprisingly good! Thanks Stefan! One little question, where did you get the fender deluxe 65 IR? Thanks.
pawn shop bass has a new friend
Awesome! Friends are important 😊

@@grodriguez512 That would be a magico-brutal psychotropic subsonic adventure! Melt your mind and your face and bowels all at the same time!
A lysergic antimatter cupcake of goodness.
Is there someone here who prefers the v1 instead of the mkii? I have the mkii but by the demo the first version seems to sound "rounder" warmer i would say.. Has someone tried both of them?
I knew I needed a bigger pedalboard.
Facts are hard to deny 😂 Happy you like the pedal!
@@thepedalzone Your playing contributed to it. If only you could play broccoli, I'm sure kids would eat them more!
ALMOST enough to replace my Keeley Synth 1 w/an expression pedal. Maybe a good used price in the future.
It would be a great addition to the Synth1. I feel like they have two very different voices. Synth1 sounds very vintage to me. It reminds me of 8-bit Nintendo game soundtracks, whereas Lysis has more of a crazy futuristic sci-fi vibe to it.
As soon as I started this video...my wallet didn't stand a chance.
Haha! I'm sorry for your wallet's loss 😂
Which one do you prefer? This or Jackson Audio Modular Fuzz?
They are so different, so it's honestly like comparing apples and oranges. The JA Fuzz is more your standard fuzz deal with a switchable octave-up fuzz, whereas Lysis is very much a synth device that fuses octave-down fuzz and highly tweakable filters to create its synthetic soundscapes. So if you want a fuzz, then go for the JA Fuzz. If you want a synth device, then go for the Lysis.
If this had a BPF it would've been perfect for md
Tell that to SolidGoldFX. They always appreciate constructive feedback. So maybe they can add it in a new version in the future
@@thepedalzone awesome!
