      Its not better. This is the worst way to rig one i have ever seen. You can skip the gill and just put the hook in the back. Use a circle hook if you thing theres too much hook…. Think of it like putting fish on a stringer. You put something through the gills, fish is dead. Dead bait isnt good at catching fish

    I use the size 1 and 1/0 Mustad hooks to freeline for snook ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxzXmlErSqVAEGWFEKO530BvTqFDw53QW3 and they have been fantastic. The points are super sharp, and the hook is small enough to blend with my baitfish, yet large enough to land fish 30" or more. I also use these hooks when I'm pier or surf fishing with my kids. They tend to catch tons of smaller snapper, whiting, and catfish, and we get far fewer gut hooks with these Mustad in-lines, which means more of them survive after release. I was actually using these hooks when I caught my friend too, but I think that had more to do with the bait I was using ;-)

      The main thing is if u got big bluegill on u they can’t peck him off the hook. Like when u just hook them thru the head they either gotta take it or they can’t get it or peck it off this is a great way to target what ur after or u will get sownrhing decent sized of any species

    I always Hook in the tail because they live longer,I have a question for you, do you catch more crappie with minnows or jigs?

    • @903fishing

      Minnows. But I use minnows in the summer mainly. When the weather is hot and crappie are lethargic, crappie are more inclined bite live bait, their natural forage. Thanks for watching! God bless

    • @THELIFEDREAMER.1329
      @THELIFEDREAMER.1329 2 роки тому +1

      I actually think the same way, there are others ways to fish, you know if this were a survival situation, then, I think it's totally justified. Unless you're a person that really lives of fishing I think that's a very inhumane way of fishing, it's not about fishing the animal, is about fishing with the animal alive and putting it through a lot of pain and horror. Studies indicates that all the living beens have a way of awareness. It's nothing against the fishing activity by the way, because I love fishing too.

    • @colobisman6132

    • @THELIFEDREAMER.1329
      @THELIFEDREAMER.1329 2 роки тому +2

      @@colobisman6132 well, actually, any animal that is sacrifice to feed us, suffer. The thing is , why do we have to do it unnecessarily? Even though that for sure there are others ways to do it, with less pain. Nothing is white or black, there is no fairness in life and in the survival process, but we, as humans beings, maybe we could be more compassionate with our animals neighbors.
