“It didn’t take long for Reach to fall. Our enemy was ruthless. Efficient. But they weren’t nearly fast enough. For you have already passed the torch. And because of you, we found Halo.” “Unlocked it’s secrets, shattered our enemies resolve. Our victory-your victory-was so close, I wished you could have lived to see it. But you belong to Reach. Your body, your armor. All burned and turned to glass. Everything.” “Except, your courage. That, you have to us. And with it, we can rebuild.”
As much as i love that quote for 6, I think it's important to recognize how much that quote applies to everyone who died on reach. Marine, ODST, Spartan, they all died for humanity
Oh nice, It's Sodaz again, easily one of the best fan animators. All his 40k stuff was gold before they got pulled from the net. And he's only getting better since.
I do like that even with the Spartians in the animation they still gave the ODST's and Marines some glory to, it really easy to give the super soldiers all the glory and forget about the ordinary guys (Or just make them cannon fodder) who don't get the super armour and enhancments and have to take on same enemies with nothing more then a lot of spine and maybe if they are lucky a simular gun to the elite forces. Its why the Guard are so loved in 40k because they don't get the bolter and power armour the Space Mariens do yet they are still able to pull wins off alone.
I think part of the reason Sodaz does the guard and ODST so much justice is because he did military service himself (South Korea has mandatory 1 year service I believe). He also does a good job of making the enemy of the piece generally competent too (for example, the chaos space marines in his Death Korps video actually win their fights against even numbers of loyalists likely because they have greater experience and chaos empowerment, they ultimately lose due to the combined arms nature of the imperium).
I've never seen SODAZ's work, but I feel like I had a very good experience here. especially the homage to HALO REACH at the end, which literally made me cry.
Honestly, if you like war games like this, Titanfall or S.t.a.l.k.e.r his animations are some of the best. They just have an excellent flow to them and fit with the lore of their respective settings so well with no faction being relegated to narrative cannon fodder. For example we see in this that the marines are clearly carrying their own weight but are outmatched by the Elites and while the Spartans are brutally effective, there are only so many of them and the Covenant gives a good showing against them.
(Spoilers for Reach Ending) So this was basically Halo Reach in a different area. All those countless dead Spartan's in the last mission as Six. It's morbid and good at showing how screwed you are, but a video like this really goes to show how much they also assisted in completing the mission. You wouldn't of had the gotten that far without all the Spartans dying, and in turn yourself dying to save Cortana and the MC. Reach is still the best Halo game due to this exact tone.
Sodaz got screwed hard by Games Workshop, so it';s good that his other work has been being seen on the regular lately. "Those guys" Kig-Yar are usually referred to as Jackals (it's not a complement) "Take the big tank" Touching the enemies stuff without ONI clearance is a strict UNSC nono, despite what Master Chief does on the regular. This Spartan team covered the retreat of the Pillar of Autumn. You know the rest.
It amazes me that one man can have so much talent to do this practically by himself and a professional team of Hollywood can't make a an even mediocre series with actors and a massive budget.
This is one of the best Halo fan Animation I've ever seen. I'm so happy that you guys reacted this. Hope you react to more of Sodaz's works. Also the ending doesn't feel as hopeful when you realize that out of the billions of people on the planet only a few thousand of them survived.

The most incredible thing about this film is that, SODAZ made this with Source Filmmaker. 26:00 If you look at the video, you'll know all of the animation is hand-crafted, without any motion-capture.

The amount of love put into this is very apparent. Best fan animation I’ve seen. This is what it looks like when people who love halo make halo content. The story and end he gave to these Spartans was a billion times better than the big budget series that only kinda looks like halo.
I always found it inspirational that an entire covenant of united alien races, with all their advanced technology, have such a difficult time dealing with humanity Truly a story about the tenacity, perseverance, and will of the human spirit.
United Nations Space Command of United Earth. Spartans fall under the UNSC naval special warfare command. HellJumpers are under the command of standard naval companies but as volunteers as they jump straight into a planet due to reentry heat the temperature is like jumping into hell. The planetside army falls under USNC command land division. Ships are usually under the command of one of 5 fleet admirals. I would actually read the Halo book series as its a good way to get into the series before playing, The Fall of reach, The Flood, and First Strike, along with Ghosts of Onyx. The forerunner series is ok but its not my thing.
This is arguably Sodaz's masterpiece, the editing, the voice work by everyone involved, the music choices, the animations, the sounds, the level of detail, the amount of perspectives, if there's some kind of award for best fan made animations its gotta go to him, hands down
Before I saw this animation I never really thought about how devastating it would be as a Marine or ODST to see a Spartan die. Like these are the best of the best with top of the line gear who you can see just kick some absolute ass, yet a single blow can still be all it takes to take one out. For every Spartan they have a dozen Elites.
This is my favorite Halo fan film to date! The callbacks and references made it all the more amazing! It also makes me disappointed that fans of the franchise can make better films, and better stories than the people who own the IP. I also feel this way about Star Wars as well. The fact that the fans can make better stories than the people who own the franchise is really cool and really disappointing. One more thing, holy Halo Rings, the dog looks adorable!!
A sweet thing that you may have noticed while grabbing this video is the next SODAZ project is Fallout, the literal battle between the Brotherhood of Steel and the NCR over the Helios ONE Relay. Granted it will literally be a year before it's done if it's meant to be on the scale of this but still exciting.
The only thing wrong that I see in this animation is brutes and elites marching together. In Halo Reach if 1 of them was there, the other was nowhere to be found in the entire level. The covenant civil war hasn't happened yet, but there was still a lot of animocity between the 2 alien lifeforms.
Halo reach was a good game by itself but it also added context to the games of just how BAD our situation was by the time of halo 1-3. Losing Reach was such a blow to morale (among other things) that the saying ‘Spartans never die, they’re just missing in action’ needs to be made and spread around to give people some semblance of hope and kind of stop thinking about how the genetically engineered super badasses were dying left right and center due to being given such dangerous missions just to make SOME sort of progress in the war.
I want to help clear any confusion by telling the names of the aliens since I’m a Halo player/fan The scaley ones with the coloured armour and the energy swords are called Elite’s The small ones that look like triangles are called Grunt’s The small skinny ones with shields are called jackal’s The ones similar to jackal’s but have no shields and move more are called Skirmisher’s The giant ones that shoot the green lazars and are REALLY tank’y are called Hunter’s The next one isn’t shown in the video but it has wings and can fly are called Bugger’s The big hairy dudes with the armour are called Brute’s Also UNSC Stands for United Nations Space Command don’t worry I thought the ‘C’ stood for Corps too
Here's one thing I noticed. The Green Spartan with the heavy gear, his death is unusual. His arms are by his waist as he dies, but when the camera came back to him, his arms are by his neck. It is implied that he somehow lived for a few seconds before he died. As for the sniper, he seem to die quicker than the other four. And another sad part is how the ODST Spartan died. It wasn't instant. The plasma was killing her, not the shock and trauma or the strike. The plasma was slowly killing her. ODST Spartan had the worst death out of all of her teammates. The team leader at least died knowing that his team's sacrifice was not in vain despite the plasma from the sword slowly killing him.
Sodaz is currently working on a Fallout vid too. As for funny military abbreviations, these aren't official but there's of course FUBAR, which pretty much everyone knows. STEAL (Strategic Transfer of Equipment to Alternate Locations), BOHICA (Bend over, here it comes again) FISTers (which are fire support specialists, as in the guys who call in artillery or air support) SNAFU (Status Nominal: All F*cked Up) FIDO (F**K It Drive On) GAFFOARD (Give A Flying F**k On A Rolling Doughnut) FIGMO (F**K It Got My Orders) Just to name a few. They're endless really.
10:10 I know I'm a bit late to reply your video but you're almost correct! 😁 UNSC in HALO stand for United Nations Space Command which is the main human military forces in this Universe. ODST stand for Orbital Drop Shock Troops! Which are the boys you saw in the opening. They basically are main Special Forces of the UNSC (Think of it as a Navy SEALs). And the last one with the unique armor are Spartans which are super soldiers with modified genetics. They basically are Captain America but taller. 😂
UNSC means "United Nations Space Command". Unfortunately this was based off of Halo Reach where the UNSC fought a hard but futile battle to save Reach from the Covenant so the outcome was predestined though they succeeded in allowing the Pillar of Autumn escape, which had the Chief on it as you saw.
I thought this was great and a good tie in between the events of Halo Reach and Halo Combat Evolved. Located in the Epsilon Eridani system, Reach was among the first planets to fall. Along with Harvest being lost fairly early on in the conflict. Love this animation. When the spartans and ODSTs breached the structure in the first 7 minutes of the film, I was hoping a brute chieften was going to charge at them and it was going to be an epic fight. I was hoping that the blue visor spartan was going to get back up and have a 1v1 with that Brute Chieften before falling but it was still good what happened in the end.
If you guys really want to dive into the prequel of the halo series I would highly recommend watching all the cutscenes from halo reach and or do a play through of it because halo reach story wise is the start of master chief’s journey.
The entirety of Halo Reach is a prequal to Halo 1... Planet Reach was the UNSC's greatest military base outside of Earth itself and the home of the Spartan program... This is where the Master Chief was brought as a child, it's where he trained and where he gained his enhancements as a Spartan II... By the time of Halo Reach the Spartans had proven themselves to invaluable assets... But they were just that... Invaluable... And thus began the Spartan III program. Due to advances in technology the Spartan III surgeries were far safer and cheaper allowing the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI) to recruit from the teenage war orphans rather then a select few genetically near perfect adolescents. This decreased the time it took to train them and due to the SPI rather then Mjolnir armour they were given The cost of Spartan III's was so low that Reach had hundreds of them when compared to the few dozen of Spartan II's... Nearly all of them died on Reach... Some exceptional individuals from the Spartan III's were given Mjolnir armour their Spartan II siblings wore, they were grouped together and sent on some of the hardest missions the UNSC could throw at them... The Spartans in this video was one of these elite Spartan III units serving during the conflict on reach, just like the main Characters of Halo Reach Noble Team... And just like here all of them died one by one... The player character Spartan-B312 or Noble 6 is the one firing the gun that destroyed the covenant carrier at the end so the Pillar of Autumn could escape... The last mission of the game has only one objective... Survive... You cannot complete that objective...
For us, the storm has passed. The war is over. And let us never forget those who journeyed into the howling dark, and did not return. For their decision required courage beyond measure.-lord hood-halo 3 Also unsc stands for United nations space command
It's sad but this is basically what happened during Halo: Reach, Noble Team wasn't the only team of 3's that were fighting the Covenant. In fact, most of the 2's were redeployed back onto Reach to put up a final stand to buy the Master Chief and Linda some time. A lot of soldiers were lost in the Battle of Reach, and a fair number of 3's that were part of the later deployment didn't make it out alive, but 3's are designed to literally be a suicide unit. Doesn't make it hurt any less because they were just as badass and deserving as 2's. Also, the Jackals (Kig-Yar) are both avian as well as reptilian, the silver haired ones with plumage are Skirmishers and they are the females of the species. Also, you were close, UNSC stands for United Nations Space Command.
9:16 U better learn to do that in the game as its pretty mutch the only way to effectivly take a Hunter down. They are almost invulnerable anywhere else.
Hey guys! It might be too late to ask this but have you tried reacting to ‘Mortal Kombat ai intros’? I think they would make for a great video and they have some great comedy! Hope you’re both keeping well!
dumb suggestion. Would it be possible you two react to the memory corridors of assassins creed? They’re basically just very important sections of a kill, maybe like 10-20 seconds long. 9/10 per game. SHOULDNT be that hard of a video. I think so Atleast…
10:31 UNSC means "United Nations Space Cammand". Entirely militaristic and in charge of all human military until the end of the covenant war, which political power was handed back to the UEG "United Earth Government" to start rebuilding the ruined colonies. UNSC was founded after the defeat of Neo-political facisits based on MARS.
This animation shows the reality of the human-covenant war. It is very difficult to fight the covenant and within the 25+ years of fighting, over 27 billion humans died fighting to survive and protect their homes. Humanity wasn't prepared for this genocide, not even the spartans. While spartans are very effective in what they do, they were made to counter the ongoing human insurrection, not aliens with superiority over us humans in firepower, technology, and numbers. Despite all of that though, humanity still won in the end.
“It didn’t take long for Reach to fall. Our enemy was ruthless. Efficient. But they weren’t nearly fast enough. For you have already passed the torch. And because of you, we found Halo.”
“Unlocked it’s secrets, shattered our enemies resolve. Our victory-your victory-was so close, I wished you could have lived to see it. But you belong to Reach. Your body, your armor. All burned and turned to glass. Everything.”

Yeah the end pulled from halo reach which is noble six made the shot to destroy the carrier allowing the ship take off
This is 100% better if you are familiar with the game Reach.
Definitely not definte your doing amazing job for real keep it up and take care yourselfs
That is an amazing animation NGl, i didn't see it before!
I want to help clear any confusion by telling the names of the aliens since I’m a Halo player/fan
The scaley ones with the coloured armour and the energy swords are called Elite’s
The small ones that look like triangles are called Grunt’s
The small skinny ones with shields are called jackal’s
The ones similar to jackal’s but have no shields and move more are called Skirmisher’s
The giant ones that shoot the green lazars and are REALLY tank’y are called Hunter’s
The next one isn’t shown in the video but it has wings and can fly are called Bugger’s
The big hairy dudes with the armour are called Brute’s
Also UNSC Stands for United Nations Space Command don’t worry I thought the ‘C’ stood for Corps too
UNSC stands for Unites Nation Space Command
Was amazing guys, love to see sodaz again on the channel
Would love to see your reaction to "Contract" from sodaz too
Yes I was waiting for the both of you to react to this
Here's one thing I noticed.
Remember Reach.
Also yay Sodaz animation
Sodaz is currently working on a Fallout vid too.
As for funny military abbreviations, these aren't official but there's of course FUBAR, which pretty much everyone knows.
STEAL (Strategic Transfer of Equipment to Alternate Locations),
BOHICA (Bend over, here it comes again)
FISTers (which are fire support specialists, as in the guys who call in artillery or air support)
SNAFU (Status Nominal: All F*cked Up)
FIDO (F**K It Drive On)
GAFFOARD (Give A Flying F**k On A Rolling Doughnut)
FIGMO (F**K It Got My Orders)
Just to name a few. They're endless really.
Sodaz animations are always peak. Imagine if he use Fireteam Team Osiris or Majestic. But this is nothing compared to what a working Halo ring can do.
Perfect interquel for the halo reach events just before Noble Six part..... iykyk
Your puppy reminds me of Falcor the Luck Dragon!
10:11 you were super close. It’s United Nations Space Command. Not Corps.
Always remember reach, and everyone who fell for her.
Oh nice, they did my request
Eventually we get to things 😜😊🤗

Having a dog is like having a child that never grows up :)
Bucky is a good boy. Feed him a treat for us.
The red female Spartan got that dawg in her
She nearly nailed it. UNSC stands for United Nation Space Command.
10:12 Close. UNSC stands for United Nations Space Command. It is the military of the United Earth Government.
Hi definitely not definte Idea how reaction to twisted metal game series and storys and characters in the near future
For us, the storm has
passed. The war is over. And let us
never forget those who journeyed
into the howling dark, and did not
return. For their decision required
courage beyond measure.-lord hood-halo 3
Also unsc stands for
United nations space command
😢 made me cry again for Reach. Lol
I wonder if it was intentional that every squad member that confirmed got killed got killed by an energy sword
Small correction tge skirmishers are a sub species of the Kig Yar
uniquely... neutered... space cats? 10:48
U.N.S.C is for United Nation Space Command if i recale correctly
Эх Bungie знали бы, как правильно использовать талант Sodaza, но 343 industries ???
9:16 U better learn to do that in the game as its pretty mutch the only way to effectivly take a Hunter down. They are almost invulnerable anywhere else.
United Nation Space Command
Hey guys! It might be too late to ask this but have you tried reacting to ‘Mortal Kombat ai intros’? I think they would make for a great video and they have some great comedy! Hope you’re both keeping well!
Randomly browsing my feed after lunch.

Fastest click in the west!
Sodaz is currently doing a fallout series , hope we get a another reaction
SI HUBIERA ESTADO EL JEFE MAESTRO LES HUBIERAN DADO EN SU MADRE 😢😢😢
6:09 Those are Skirmishers.
They are Jackals (the lizard ones) but racist.
Better animated than Halo V haha, just kidding, just kidding......kind of. Also United Nations Space Command.
dumb suggestion. Would it be possible you two react to the memory corridors of assassins creed? They’re basically just very important sections of a kill, maybe like 10-20 seconds long. 9/10 per game. SHOULDNT be that hard of a video. I think so Atleast…
10:31
UNSC means "United Nations Space Cammand".
U.N.S.C United. Nation. Space. command. i full heartly believe they are a force for good. :)
I wonder how much time it took him to edit all of this
