You worked hard! Agree with another viewer, those foams need to go. If you keep your eye on the sales you can get mattresses at a bargain price. I highly recommend the ikea mattresses too.
I love how you say “rum” - we say it in England too, well, half the country does, the other half says rooooom 😅

I agree with your husband…move the wardrobe to the other side of the room…it will open it up to look bigger!

I honestly don't think there's a way to salvage the foam padding, unfortunately. I think it should be tossed. I applaud all your hard work and effort!

Karen, that room looks nice all cleaned and tidied. Well done on taking the bed apart and moving it out, along with the make up desk to the curb by yourself. I think you are right about getting the room changed to be used for another purpose immediately now your daughter has moved away. It is always better to keep moving forward rather than trying to hold on to the past. It reinforces the notion that your daughter will grow and thrive and that you will have room to make new exciting memories. Plus, you’ll get your bedroom space back which will give you more of a life/work balance separation. Btw I think you should declutter the mattress toppers they really have seen better days, the mattress still looks perfectly fine to reuse though.

So glad your daughter is doing well. Just wondering if you could paint the top of the table that you will be using for plants. Maybe even add some of those bird decals you used in the pantry.

Oh Karen, we are on the same page or at the same stages of life. I was decluttering and refreshing our bedroom and I didn't even remember putting a bunch of pillows in shrink bags under my bed! I have been thinking of doing a big bedding declutter as well. I like your idea of figuring out how many guests I could have. Just experienced it a couple months ago and forgot those pillows were there!
Plus my oldest is probably moving out in July or August. We will know this weekend for certain. My first to leave, however she was away at college for 5 years and then home for the past year as she finished her medical fieldwork assignments and started a new job. Praying this is a good move but we have to let them go and trust the Lord with them!
    Praying for you 🙏

I agree with the others about new mattresses. I bought a Sleeping Organic set after house-sitting at my brother's. I'm so glad I did. It had been about 25 years on my old one, good quality but time to replace for sure. You guys will be so glad when you do. The orange shirt is my second favorite from your target haul. I have the mushroom one on the way 😊 Love the "new" room. 💜💛

Toss the foam things! Consider a Helix mattress for your bed. Pricey but worth every penny. I got one a year ago. I sleep full nights now with hardly any tossing or frequent wake ups. My back has never felt better. Very cool to reclaim your room. I’m surprised one of the other girls didn’t want it! Is there room in your bedroom to put the wardrobe next to yours? ❤

I did a large amount of decluttering, cleaning, and reorganizing today because my baby bird is returning to the nest at the end of the month. Isn't it funny that we both had to do those things for opposite reasons?!

  • @Myeverydaywifelife

Suggestion for that twin bed inside of buying new mattress? I did this for the bed my son is using in guest room. I bought pillow topper 3 inch memory foam mattress topper off Amazon. $100. A new full twin memory foam mattress is like $300???? We didn’t want to buy that as we didn’t know how long he would be here ( he has been here nearly 2 yrs now 🙀)
If you going to buy a new mattress for your master bedroom I highly recommend something like Nectar or Casper memory mattress so worth the $$. We bought one 6 yrs ago and have not had back problems since.
We have the Nectar memory foam
    Mattress.

We would have a hard time because we do not have a proper overhang on the house so falling ice could rip it out. Great idea though! 🙌

For mattress pads, I would at least give it a sunbathe. Give it a couple of hours for each side. The sun is great at killing germs
