RV Awning Torsion Assembly/Camlock Replacement

Today we are replacing the torsion assembly/camlock on a RV awning. It looks quite complicated but its actually quite easy to do. Follow along as two rookies take on the task.

Bruce sent me over. My son & I did similar work on my awning in the spring. Not that hard once you figure out the set up.

I'm wondering how to get the cam lock to release. The awning of this trailer has been down a long time (not mine). The cam lock will not rotate to allow the awning to roll up. I wonder if that nail trick works when it is rolled all the way out. Have any ideas?

If you pull it out just a bit to relieve some tension you might be able to release it. Spray it with a little lube as well. Stevo
