Cannon Beach is magical. I was in Colorado, and my life was changing direction, and all I knew was that I was going to Oregon. Had a dream on the way about a haystack in the middle of a golf course, with the words "Land's End." Got to the coast, started in Astoria, took the tiny cutoff to Cannon Beach, walked out on the beach toward the sea, and facing the ocean, gave a giant shrug of Lostness. Shoulders sagged. Now what? Turned around, and there on the seawall in amazing large letters: Land's End ..... rented a house and started writing for a living. Still am.
We love the McBee Cottages! We must have stayed there at least 10 times over the years. Cannon Beach is the best! We even got married at Ecola State Park! Did you guys go to Bill's Tavern? If not, you HAVE to go back!
My wife and I stayed at the McBee for our first anniversary 9 years ago. Amazing location. Great, relaxing time. Cannon Beach is simply amazing. Perfect for relaxation.
I have been thinking about planning a trip here for my husband and I. Your video showed things I like to see in a travel video so you hit the nail on the head. It looks sooo cute! Too bad it rained the entire time for you.
You guys are so lucky to have shared this trip. I was in Wilsonville in "21" for a month to work and went over to Cannon Beach. And man I would have loved to have had my fiance there. She was medically unable to come, but in heart she was there. My last week there I saw a picture of Crater Lake on a bumper sticker and thought I wonder where that is ? so I Googled it and it was to far for the time I had left. So I go back to the hotel room and what do I see hanging over the bed? " A PICTURE OF CRATER LAKE " I was in the same room for a month and never paid attention to that picture hanging over the bed. I still laugh about that, I'm laughing now!!! Hope you guys had a great time....
