  • Aquaglide Deschutes 110 Inflatable Kayak - Quick Review -
    Sometimes when paddling in winter I am unable to get a multi-part boat (one with a separate drop stitch floor) totally dry before packing it away. One of the reasons I like Aquatec Ottawa is it's all one piece and easier to dry than a multi-piece boat. I live in a flat and drying at home isn't really an option.
    Anyway I've been wondering about the Deschutes for some time and when it came up on an offer, I pulled the trigger and bought one.

    May I know how the Deschutes 110 compares to the Chelan from your previous videos?

      @@smathews-i5x they're both made from the same material, Duratex, so they're equally robust. The Deschutes doesn't have a drop stitch floor which means it's lighter, packs down smaller and is easier to maintain and dry out.

    Hi I'm really enjoying your videos! Because of you I just purchased an Expedition 85. I was just wondering in terms of performance how big of a difference is there between the expedition and the Deschutes or the Cirrus with speed, tracking, and stability. Thanks a lot!

    • @MoreThanJustaCleaner
      @MoreThanJustaCleaner  4 місяці тому

      Hi there, I'm glad you're enjoying what I'm doing.
      The Expedition being a packraft is slower than the others. Even with the skeg in it doesn't track as well as the others you mentioned. However that does give it an advantage when it comes to turning as it will turn much more sharply.
      It's funny you mentioned the Deschutes and Cirrus because I'm planning on doing a comparison between the two 👍😁

    How's the floor on this compared to the story, Does it feel as solid and handle submerged objects alright?
    I'm tempted to sell the story and upgrade to this. My other thought was the aqua ottowa, but not sure how much gear storage space it offers.

    • @MoreThanJustaCleaner
      @MoreThanJustaCleaner  3 місяці тому

      This doesn't have a drop stitch floor or any form of inflation for that matter. It's EVA covered by Duratex. The tube in the middle of the boat pushes the sides out making the floor firmer. It's really clever. Check out my other videos with it, including my most recent where I paddled between Boroughbridge and York 👍😁

    I have had the same model for a couple of years. Great on Thames and Canals. Can you advise on best paddle as the one I have is not very long and the boat is quite wide... Also what pump you use that gives a reliable / easy to read gauge.

      @@KeithVale-l6v at the moment I'm favouring the Shark 3 which you can find in my recent videos, however that's overkill for a Deschutes. This amzn.to/3Ms7V76 is a much cheaper option (and I've also reviewed this a while back) which of you ever got a drop stitch boat, it would cope with that too. The only thing you'd need to be aware of is you can' only set it to automatically switch off at 5psi, no lower - so you've got to keep an eye on it and turn it off manually. Nevertheless, it makes light work of inflating 👍😊

    Can I ask you a question about your Kayak please. What is the length and weight of this one? Did you find the seat better than you thought you might when you first looked at it. Lastly, does it come with just a single bolster or are you able to insert a second in front of you, and finally, what type of carry bag does it come with? Thank you for your Video.

    • @MoreThanJustaCleaner
      @MoreThanJustaCleaner  3 місяці тому

      It's 11ft long, weighs just over 8kg.
      The seat is too hard for me but it has a zip and the supplied foam can be removed and you can add something more to your liking if you want.
      Comes with a rucksack carry bag.
      And another bolster isn't needed. The foot rest is rigid and spans the boat adding a bit more rigidity.
      Check out the videos following this to see what I've done with it 👍😁
