I just love your gorgeous garden. It's so well designed and feels cool and peaceful, so much so that I barely notice the traffic sounds in the background, and quickly forget about them. You've done such a wonderful job. And I love to see Grace supervising and patrolling with such enthusiasm.
Good morning Danielle ❤ the peonies are beautiful. I was able to sell some snapdragon/sweetwilliam Memorial Day bouquets from my wagon set up yesterday ❤
The sweet William will continue to bloom and may even be perennial depending on where you live. Mine come back and bloom all growing season. The stems are shorter when it gets hot.
You’ve got quite a bunch of peonies! Hope they all sell out before opening too big ! Your garden is so inviting…. Your hard work is paying off … excited about the new plants.
Your garden is looking so beautiful! I can’t wait to see all your new plants in their new home. Love watching your garden evolve and become so grand. 💐💜
Oh the garden is just looking stunning!! And it will be even more so once you add in these gorgeous perennials!! Well done Gracie for checking on the customers! 🤣👍🏻☀️
What a gorgeous garden. Grace has to be the luckiest dog on the planet to live in such beauty. It’s not hard to see why peonies are my absolute favorite flower and they smell amazing. I waited too long to harvest mine this year and I’m so disappointed. My daughter had my newest grandson though so I think it was more than a fair trade. 🥰
This is so exciting! Your garden is perfect and these plants will only add to it! Reminds me a lot of my daughter’s garden that also love! So much variety of texture, size and color that are peaceful, interesting, and exciting all at once! Can’t wait to see everything in place and to hear about your new dahlia! 👏💕👌💕👍💕
Exciting choices! I've been looking for some of your Proven Winners choices at my local nurseries & garden centers, with no luck. As the garden fills up your choices get more specific, no? And love the repetition idea too! Can't wait to see how it evolves!
I just LOVE following along on your journey -- the garden is beyond spectacular just as it is & yet I too feel the pull to keep improving and expanding. So much love to you, Danielle!
Reading your comment, I’m just a Zone 5b home gardener bulb lover with one of my gardens getting only a few hours of direct sun. Most tulips/daffodils in that area do great the first year anyways (since bulbs come with everything they need). Consider putting them in-ground only 2 inches and covering with 4 inches of mulch or compost. Pull and discard after they bloom, like a flower farmer (painful as it is, ugh) and browned foliage is gone with beds ready for the summer show. I’m really starting to see that many just aren’t coming back, although many have a few leaves or a few flowers pop up and I keep hoping and watching. After 3 years watching which varieties have been coming back in the shadiest areas, the best of maybe 20 different bulbs are Tahiti daffodil (even increasing!) and crocus, followed by some single late tulips (even fringed varieties). Not sure if any of this might be relevant for you, but it’s sure fun trying and learning what other gardeners are doing!
I have Meadow Rue in a few colors and highly recommend it. The white one (sorry don’t remember the cultivar name) lights up the shade. ‘Black Stockings’ tolerates shade but doesn’t have its characteristic dark stems in shade. Most of the common Meadow Rue I have is in part shade but I am sure they would be fine in sun. The foliage is wonderful on these plants and after they flower the seeds are very ornamental. I also have ‘Storm Cloud’ but have less experience with it. So far, I’m a fan.
I enjoy watching your videos, with every view I learn something new! Your garden is amazing and your creative eye in the garden is an inspiration for me to step out of my garden box and continue to try new plants and ideas. Thank you.
Have you heard of removing all the leaves on a peony stem and wrapping it in damp newspaper and then placing it inside a plastic bag and storing it in your refrigerator until later in the year. The bloom they say has to be in squishy marshmallow stage. Worth a try on a few.
Such beautiful plants! Your garden looks so healthy! Danielle, how do you deal with the daffodil and tulip foliage? And your Alliums are so straight and tall! I just don't get enough sun in some parts of my garden. Your borders are perfection!
I just love how your garden has evolved! You are such a knowledgeable gardener. For us beginners, do you use any design software or recommend any kind of program for home gardeners who don't have your garden eye?
To extend the peony season (my favorite!) have you tried "dry storing the buds at "marshmallow" stage? Every year, that's my intention. But it usually heats up too quickly and my blooms are done so quickly. So far, we've had ideal weather in Minneapolis so I may get to try this method. Now I'm on the lookout for the very fragrant 'Duchesse de Nemours' white variety. I found it at a nursery an hour from my house, but since my cart already contained a car payment's worth I left the peonies behind. Went back the next day to get a tree (firespire musclewood) I'd considered and completely forgot to get the peonies. I'm sure they're gone by now, two weeks after. Your gardens are so gorgeous!
I would have run to your stand to get one of those Peony bouquets. So gorgeous! Where do you buy your Proven Winners plants? There are so many plants I want to try and you bought a few I am interested in. I always end up getting too few of one variety of plants because my budget will only let me get 7 or 8 and I want to try different things to see how they do - but you are right. I should just buy 7 or 8 of the same plant and work on the repetition. Good reminder to me!
Thank you for sharing about the flower stand. I’m hoping to do one of those myself this summer. How much do you charge for your large luxurious peony bouquet? I would’ve been tempted to make them smaller or to mix in other flowers with them, but they are stunning!
Danielle those bouquets areso pretty, hope they all sell ! Love your new plants you received. Your are such a special gardener, soo talented !! Will be looking for those Drops of Jupiter, I love chartreuse in the garden. Just curious you said you were formally from the Pittsburgh area do mind telling which area it was ?? I live about 20 miles south in Monongahela . Have a wonderful day !
its a challenge sometimes to buy online because sometimes it doesnt look like I've researched. Its best to see the plant in person but most of the time, i research the heck out of the plant before i buy. Watching videos etc to see if id like it in all its seasonal stages
Great video! I definitely shared your excitement for the new plants. What variety of lamb’s ears do you have in your main flower walk? The one I have is very aggressive and I have to keep cutting it back. Yours looks more contained.
Loved the peony bouquets! What is the name of the variegated iris variety that's behind you to the left when you were showing the new perennials? And do you know where I can buy this variety? My other question is do the hybrid varieties of yarrow self seed? I have the old fashioned no name white yarrow and I love it but it seeds so prolifically that I have been thinking of just pulling it because it makes so much work for me. Thanks!
Gorgeous! I wondered whether you like to rescue the bouquets that start getting damaged by the heat and pop them inside for yourself, or do you usually cut extras for yourself up front? Or is having them still in the garden the part that’s for you? :0)
Flower Garden beautiful.. 🥰😁😭😘👍💐🌷🌹
The view to the library is 100% beautiful
Your customers are so lucky! Wish I lived close to you I would be a regular for sure.

I just cut sweet Williams. Should I expect another flush, or should I put all them out?

So beautiful. Thanks for talking out your design process. It’s very helpful.
Another great thing about the Oregano is that it also tolerates dog urine! The garden looks beautiful!
Great selection of new plants! Have you thought about adding pjnk perfusion salvia? I love the magenta color on that one.

Where did all the beautiful peonies live ? Have not seen them in any of the garden tours this spring

I love Brunnera!
So pretty mine aren’t blooming yet i’m jealous😊
How much do you charge for bouquets? Any tips for helping peonies last after the are cut? You have a beautiful garden.
Great video! I definitely shared your excitement for the new plants. What variety of lamb’s ears do you have in your main flower walk? The one I have is very aggressive and I have to keep cutting it back. Yours looks more contained.
What variety of peonies are the pink ones? They are so beautiful 😍
