I have been waiting to see "benchmark" times for Deka. It is helpful to understand what your finishing time represents as a general fitness measurement and not a race time. I do not love this as a race and think of it more as a fitness test. One thing I have seen from friends who do this event as a race is that they focus too much on getting faster at completing a Deka event and less on improving athletically... their practice/training is the test rather than training to be capable of performing any test. They become comfortable with the cardio/pacing structure and they simply work on things that improve those aspects. Would you ever consider creating multiple tests that are varied as a series to complete? The various Deka events are like the Spartan Trifecta + Ultra; It's the same race but different amounts of volume. (The distance covered is the only variable. That has its own difficulties but is still mainly a foot race.)
I’m 67. Did my first Deka Strong with a mark of 19:02. I’m coming to Dallas in December and can’t wait to experience this event. Hope to be able to meet you. I’ve been able to change my lifestyle and become healthy again. it’s been a long journey but so worth it. I’m down 100 pounds, survived kidney cancer and plan to be here for my 8 grandkids as long as I can. I do CrossFit for the last two years and love it. Deka is a great way to test myself on movements that can be improved on. Next year I plan or try the Deka mile as well as the strong. Need to improve my running but working on it. Keep up the great work. Wish there was a way to get more people my age to try this.
Very helpful. Working on it at age 73!!

Will be testing myself for the first time this weekend with DEKA Strong. Got myself a goal to strive now.
Thank you for all your support
Very well done and helpful for aspiring people to train and improve!
And all of this records we don't know if people are cheating..... Big error.
