Mr. Dahlgren and family are looking down and smiling where you have picked up and continued the hard work and care on their home place, they are grateful someone loves it as much as they did. Great video!
Squatch, great to see Senior and he is doing fantastic on the garage. I absolutely loved the history lesson. You have worked sooooo long and hard to get the property and the storage garage. You have made the entire area absolutely beautiful. I love your plans for the future. There’s no person more deserving of such a beautiful place than you. Very, very enjoyable video. Thanks
I love the feeling when all the winter preparation is done and that first snow arrives. Appreciate the story and history. I can get lost in those stories. 😊
A very awesome and interesting story. I thank you for sharing. You have definitely put in a lot of work and what an impressive transformation. Congratulations on your achievements. Really love the barn. You have a beautiful piece of property 👍👍
You've given me homework now. I have to look up what a Jack Pine is. Everything here was covered in long leaf and loblolly. I can still find a few stumps (that turned to fat lighter) and I would have loved to have seen the trees that sat on them. I really enjoyed this video, Squatch. Thank you.
Thank you for sharing your property's history with us. 100 or so years from now a future owner will be going over the land plot document to find out who made all those wonderful improvements to the property. I can't say if it was also your intention, but what a wonderful way to create a lasting legacy for you and your family. 😊
Squatch, I have watched every video you have posted. By far my favorite U tube channel. You sir have a beautiful place. It was cool to see the before and after photos. I really enjoyed seeing the history of your property. Awesome! As a kid we would find 1800 to early 1900's dumps and dig for treasures. Man did we find cool valuable cool stuff. Keep up the good work, Boe 👍😊
Thanks! Well you have storage for winter now if needed, but I agree that if you are building inside it would be much better if you had the available room and not having to work around things.
Thank you for the history lesson Toby! A great accomplishment and showing of your hard work thru the years. We all dream of that someday. Can’t wait to see the next project you show us!
Nice job on your property. My grandfather was still clearing his 80 acres in the late 40s in North Central Wisconsin about 30 miles NE of Wausau. West of Antigo about 6 miles. Dad said he used dynamite on the stumps used a breaking plow and root hook pulled by a 46 IHC H with single wheel in the front. Then a disc to cut up the roots. Then Dad and his sister got to pick up roots and haul them to brush pile for burning after the first snow fall. Dad said that was the worst job on the farm. Dirty and hot summer work with the dirt sticking on your sweaty body. Dad still hates tag alder and willow brush. He is 88. Hope your trees do a better job muffling the sound of Harleys than wooded area between my road and WI 17. It sucks. That and pickups with mufflers cut off. Equipment working or semis hauling good is different.
Toby. Aside from you were working on the tractor videos that was the best one you've ever done. You were so right about the feeling of satisfaction when you see your hard work come to fruition. Do you have an awesome piece of land and we can see the hard work that went into it. we looked up the Hinckley fire and that was an absolute tragedy. Thanks for all of the information and sharing your beautiful dream come true. Peggy and Tom. When you had your eye surgery we went back and watched every one of your videos.
Really enjoyed hearing the history. Could not agree more with your comments about more of us need to appreciate the feeling of satisfaction by working and waiting for the things we have.
It's wonderful that you have kept the photos showing your start with what is basically raw land. My Grandpa passed over 20 years ago, but I was so glad to be able to sit by the fire listening to him recount the 50 year journey he undertook to not only build his families home but their livelihood with a working cereal and livestock farm on 400 acres. He also had many photos of the progression as well as showing the people and fashions of the time. sometimes its the photographs that tell a better story than the people trying to remember all those years ago
I’m more impressed with your channel and how you got to today…Those old timers would be proud of not of your hard work but the machines you accomplished it with 👍🏻😁🤩
You have put your mind and soul into cleaning this property to be as it is. The story about the previous land owners was very interesting to me. As it tells the tale of people that are now long forgotten. I can only imagine how much afford it took with just bare hands and horses to move all those stones. I have similar stone piles in my forest and some of them are probably very old. Thank you for recording the process of making a forgotten and seemingly useless property to become a true Luxury estate.
Wonder if you have or could find a picture of that old farm house. Yes the family that cleaned off the rocks did lots of work. Logging off the place from virgin forest was lots of work. Would have loved to see how they moved to logs. The keystone lumber company logged limestone mountain across from me using steam engines early 1900's. The railroad bed along side the cheat river is still there and I know the tie point across the river on my property where they anchored a skyway. It would have been wonderful to see the donkey engines etc. running My grandmothers sister Marie cooked for the logging camps. She showed me when she was still alive a picture her when she was young and the biggest skillet you have ever seen. Maybe an idea for content is if you can find and show historic photos in your area of machines doing work? Local history is always interesting to me.
Thank you for the great video! Especially enjoyed the B&W photos. I very much miss growing up on a small farm and very much miss our 1951 Farmall H. It had steel wheels on in the back, loved that Tractor.
Wonderful story. It's one thing to own a piece of property, it's quite a bit more when you know the history from way back and then work over the course of years with a plan and see it coming to fruition. Very enjoyable video. 😊
Great video Toby! Sr is getting along great with the old shed. The older folks have lots of tips and tricks. Thanks for filling us in about your land. It's really neat you have all the paperwork of previous owners. Looking forward to the next video as always. Cheers
Really enjoyed the deed history!! Having originated in St Louis county, the historical aspect is very much appreciated. Looks great, may it continue to provide to you as you have to it. Respect to Dalhgren & Swanson.
Thanks for the history lesson. I like looking at old pics from the folks where I can see how small the trees were back then. I recall the remains of some old homestead building at the family propery in Todd county, my folks researched the property and found the names of the original homesteaders that got the place after the railroads were done and the clear cutting was finished. Yes giant rock piles and all cleared with horses, mules men and axes. Didn't occour to me that you could probably buy dynamite at the local hardware stores then!
I'm glad that your hard work has been rewarded. You have a beautiful piece of ground and did a lot of great work. Looks beautiful. Thank you for the videos that you post. Wishing you and your family all the best in the future.
You and Senior have amazing work ethics which typify early northern MN life but we are quickly losing it. You had to be an ideal employee at your past jobs.
Toby, this history lesson is awesome. I just love hearing about all this stuff. And the old photos to go with it all, I'm proud for ya, having all things coming together.
Great freaking episode. Loved seeing all the work before and after pictures. Super excited to see how the new house and shop etc pan out. Happy for you Squatch.
God created everything from nothing. On the sixth day God created man in his image and said take dominion over the earth. One might say what would that look like? I say watch this video and Squatch will not only explain it but he will demonstrate it with his Daddy. Both you and your Father are role models that the rest of us could learn from - you are GOOD people. Thank you both very much. Art & Melissa from Ohio
I have to say, you did an impressive job on that road! The first owner of my acreage is just the same. The railroad from back in the day. They got a mile of land on each side of the right of way to finance the original construction of the first railroad. I planted 600 trees and lost 400 to a Halloween blizzard within a year (froze sap in the trees). Enjoy the fruits of your labor!!
Really enjoyed the video Squatch thanks for sharing with us the history of your land. When I went to the museum I was amazed at how big the login industry was
Praying that God blesses you with a family to grace that lovely farm. It is going to make a lovely home. I wonder if anyone has pictures of that Dahlgren homestead. It would be interesting to see.
Know the feeling. My wife and I bought a swampy piece of ground with a single wall shack and cleared it and built our own home. Nicely gardened now with decent landscaping, kitchen garden, etc. Just finishing the upstairs bath now. Been at it since the mid-80's. No loans, no contractors. All just us, family and friends. Financed out of pocket and build when you can 😅
Thank you for sharing your story with your sheds and landscaping, it’s was very interesting to hear your history of the land. God bless you and your family.
Appreciate the back story, it's very inspirational what you've achieved so far. The pine tree is definitely an impressive survivor though some pine varieties grow pretty fast. I helped take down some dying pine trees at church that we know were only about 35 years old and pushing 3 foot in diameter at the base. Then again they are also dying off so Odin is probably a slower more hardy variety
Your energy level and how you can see outcome before it happens is incredible. Another great video. History is so fascinating. My mothers family was from that area. Some of them went through the Hinkley fire. It is wonderful the time and effort you do. The H will get done. The weather will start to close in fast. Thanks.
Thanks so much for your response it means a lot not much rain no damage in fairhope a little in mobile and on mississippi coast For senior I like the fact that you are using felt under the siding lot cheaper and I think works better The storm is headed up your way in north arkansaw but will probably break up before it gets to yal Get the gen air compressor and saw down to new building also bring the nail gun and get to work
I moved to the 80 acres my stepdad owns in 2007, we cleared a few acres where my house is and there was a small stand of oak trees that were 30' tall and their growth was squelched by brush and weeds that I cleaned up, in the 17 years I've been here those trees have doubled in size.
I recommend visiting the Hinckley Fire Museum, and the memorial to those who perished in that awful fire, among other related sites. Excellent experience visiting the museum a number of years ago. Great displays. The nearby grocery store carries Kettle River Frozen Pizza if you want to taste test them.
Hey up lad super enjoyed this video it's good to see what can happen when a person follows their dreams, that drone shot really helped with making more sense of your land all the best to you and thanks for showing all this excellent work good job that rock crusher wasn't there when you were doing stuff with the syclle mower
Mr. Dahlgren and family are looking down and smiling where you have picked up and continued the hard work and care on their home place, they are grateful someone loves it as much as they did. Great video!
Can we get a video on you? Whats your life story and what set the gears in motion to be where you are today? Thanks for this awesome video
147 years ago to the day! Pretty cool timing lol
Exceptional video Toby, I really enjoyed this one. Thank you so much for sharing it with us.

I like your technical , mechanical episodes, but this tops even those. VERY interesting! Thank you for posting this.
Thanks for the history. Senior's shed is looking awesome.
A great mix of history blended with old equipment & modern ideas. Excellent video once again!
Delayed gratification is the most satisfying.

Nice! Love learning. Great tips
Your dad raised a legacy that he is so proud of!

Well, done , your video editing is top notch, not many people have the wonderful feeling of self-accomplishment that something like this give you.

Very interesting history on your land. I could listen all day to that.

There is something oddly satisfying about the echo inside a new empty building. Thanks for the update. Be Safe
Very interesting history on your land! Thanks for sharing Squatch!

I enjoyed your story about the history of your piece of land. Great choice of music at the end of the video too. 👍
B&W photos are nice. You deserve another half.
I junkie out on the 1113 fairly regularly. Amazing rebuild.
Praying that God blesses you with a family to grace that lovely farm. It is going to make a lovely home. I wonder if anyone has pictures of that Dahlgren homestead. It would be interesting to see.

I've been chasing the question of how many tractors have you and senior got?
Thanks

ALL WORTHWHILE!!!!❤
Did a great job

Agreed (on both the museum stop AND pizza lol) 😂 Back in grade school we would have field trips to the Hinckley Fire Museum 👍
