    Why not use the VideoMic GO II during this video (instead of the clip-on used)? It would have been nice to hear the item being promoted in the configurations mentioned, in order to hear the differences...

    Would have been much happier if the box included a 1-1.5m usb-c cable. For non-camera uses you mentioned, that would have been a fanstastic addition to the box. Now I have to order a usb-c cable extra. May be a suggestion for Videomic go 3.

The short answer is that for computers, iOS devices and Android devices, there are lots of cables that will work to connect to your VideoMic GO II, and lots that won't. The SC15, SC16 and SC18 are just the cables we recommend using because we've tested them and can confirm that they definitely work.

    • @rodemic
      @rodemic  Рік тому

      Hey there Yasd! If your microphone is working with your computer then it sounds like the microphone is working as intended! You will need to do some troubleshooting as to why the mic isn't working with your phone:
      - iOS does not have an indicator that a mic is being used. The only way to know for certain is to make a recording, tap/scratch the mic's surface and see whether that shows up in the recording.
      - Since iOS leaves it up to individual developers to code in support for wired microphones, some apps do not support them. However the default camera app does, so that will help you troubleshoot whether the device is connected and functional.
      - Our customers often find that their phone case is blocking the mic from plugging in fully. So it may be helpful to try connecting without your phone case on.

      We would probably recommend a setup that easily connects to an interface such as the RØDECaster Pro easily via. XLR. Perhaps 4 x PodMics plugged into the RØDECaster Pro directly 😊

    So if I’m being honest, I’m very disappointed with the product so far and I haven’t even used it. I just purchased the videomic 2 go from a local Best Buy and it said on the outside of the box that is specifically designed to work with the iPad iPod, and iPhone. However, I get it home and take it out of the box and the cord that comes with it doesn’t plug into an iPhone I find out that I need multiple other cords and adapters to make it work. It also doesn’t attach to the iPhone in anyway whatsoever. Should be some type of a clamp or a clip to make it work. I hear that the quality of this unit is very good but if it’s marketed that it’s made for an iPhone iPad or iPod it should just work. Everything should be in the box.

    i dont know how to set up on a monopod

    • @rodemic
      @rodemic  Рік тому

      Hey there, most mics, including the VideoMic GO II, take a 3/8' thread, where as most monopods take a 1/4' thread. To mount your mic you will likely need a thread adaptor, such as the one we sell here: rode.com/en/accessories/adaptors-cables/thread-adaptor

    A great microphone but unfortunately it was ruined in 2024 with a new mount called "Innovative HELIX™ Isolation Mount".
    I don't like the new version of the Videomic Go II microphone stand, when you put the deadcat on it the front part is too heavy and hangs down, the old stand was much better quality and more robust.

    Does anyone know if using an RØDE Sc7 with Apple Adaptador my iPhone 11 will be able to detect my VideoMic GO II? I am not able to find available to find SC15 de RØDE. Thanks!!

    • @rodemic
      @rodemic  2 роки тому +1

      Yes, you can connect the VideoMic GO II to the SC7 cable via the 3.5mm jack and into the 3.5mm to Lightning adaptor for use with your mobile.
