One of my favourite peaks in the black mountains. You showed it off well with the aerial footage. I spent a very cold night up there with Warren last year. Such a beautiful place to wake up!
@@CampLifeBushcraft Your video (and Warren's version) was inspiration for this trip- that looked like a sublime cloud inversion on your timelapse. Thanks so much for watching! Next video should be camping on Cribyn (with Mr Custard), can't wait to get those drone shots! Well done on the South Downs Way, that looked tough as hell.
Sugar Loaf is such a lovely summit and with your drone you showed off the overall shape too. Timing was perfect as it seemed to rain a lot on your way down. Another good trek out there in the Brecon Beacon area Hedley - and yes indeed - we have a camping trip planned! Cheers, Warren
hello Hedley , great place for a nice walk, and of course the great British weather was rubbish lol, some really cool views from up there, well done and thank you 😊
Absolutely stunning drone artistry Hedley!. Now I live in Tasmania we have a Sugarloaf mountain within our view. ..My favourite place to go in winter UK when life wasn't going as planned and I needed space to think was Killhope Cross on the county Durham - Cumbria border. Spectacular in winter, but I'm unsure if or where you could camp.
Ah so you're near the sugarloaf rock, how nice! Killhope Cross sounds good - maybe a bit of a journey but a two nighter may be an idea. Will look into that appreciated. Thanks so much for watching.
You should use the subtitle "Hedley climbs it (and gets wet) so you don't have to" 😁 Always wondered what it looked like up there - now I know, spectacular views, made all the better by the clouds 😀
@@hedleythorne I sadly never made it, I slipped when we came down, hurt my knee and the B-line we took at the reservoir did me in, pushing through waste high heath and boggy ground. A friendly farmer go us from the mountain 😁gave us tea and scones and we walked the last bit to Crickhowell so I never got to the Beacons proper
Hi Hedley, Looks like it was going to be very slippery on the way down, no mishaps I hope!! You had a perfect window of opportunity on top to fly the drone and the clouds did make a magnificent backdrop. I can imagine the drone has limited water resistance, if you got caught out do you think you would loose control of it? The ancient woodland was superb. Great video, well done!!
@@davidberlanny3308 Hey David, thank you so much for watching. Yes the weather on top was just amazing for flying. Had it rained the drone probably would just land itself gently. The way down was slippery however we found a path which circles the mountain like a helter-skelter and that seemed the safest descent route.
Quick question - where would you like to see me walk or camp in a winter video?
Tower Ridge would be cool.
@@jamesthomas6369 bit beyond me that one.
The top of Cader Idris....
@@Jazzshots great suggestion, especially with the lake up there
The Arctic
The rain made the colours pop on both the drone and ground level footage at the top. It’s a beautiful mountain for sure.
@@WC21UKProductionsLtd lovely place; not too hard to climb but rewarding views

@@davie941 thank you so much for watching! Yes the rain/sun seemed to alternate, and at one point it was too hard to film.
Nice video Hedley. I climbed this mountain a few times as a child with my Grandad 😀 Great done footage!
@@georgefindlay It is an incredibly picturesque (if easy) climb isn't it! Thanks
