GOD DAMN DUDE really! :D So fast. Sitting here, behind a cumputer screen, in the middle of the f******* winter, looking at this video, I have just made a decision to sell my R1 and buy a triumph! That bike has to be awesome! And you ride like from another planet, great to watch! :)
Wow! That was a ride and a half. Like it that you were chasing the instructor pretty tight before he sat back. Very very good, entertaining and what the STR is all about. You hit the nail on the head my man. More please, Sir!
You can ride bro! great vid! love how you wring every drop of power out of the bike ^^ love that there's no stabiliser on the images as well, this is what it feels like to ride a bike!!
Well, at least the front wheel touched the ground on some of the corners! this makes me wonder if you need a longer wheelbase, er no, you're PERFECT, it's GRAVITY that needs revising.
OH MY GOSH!!!! That is impressive. YOU are impressive sir. You got skills. And I think I know which bike I'm getting next. All I have read on the STR is good. Everyone loves it. It's got something for everyone I think. And I LOVE the way it looks. How did you get trained to ride like that?
dmshanks1 Thanks for the comment and yes I think the STR is such a fantastic bike have owned it for about 4 years now from brand new she has now got just over 40,000 Km's on her and still love every ride. Now as for training I grew up watching WSBK and MotoGP with my father and uncle also raced Go Karts during my teen years so learnt my lines etc from that and got used to high speed. However in saying that some practical rider training can never go a miss and track days are a great place to learn.
Awesome riding...Well done!!! What psi to you use at the track? I just bought the stock version (2008 model) with some upgrades, wp suspension front n' rare and leo vince exhausts. Any general suggestions for good and enjoyable track use?
What track is this? You are hauling butt man! I love my 2014 ST3R, and have watched Ken Condon videos here on youtube. It's good to see other ST3 riders out there kicking butt!
Hi Nick! Nice video! May I ask you a question about the Street triple R. I'm planning to buy a Street Triple R 2010 and I was concerned about the breaking system. Is it powerful enough to ride on track? Does it have enough bite? I used to have a SV650s and then bought a Fz8 and I was disappointed with the breaks (not enough bite), so I have always been a bit sceptical of roadsters and I don't want to be disappointed again. I have tried the Daytona 675 2011. Is the Street triple R breaking comparable to the Daytona? Thanks for your help.
Hey Steve, I never had any problems with the brakes on the Street Triple, I did eventually change to the Motul racing brake fluid and would run a brake pad that was better suited for higher performance riding. The brake system itself is the same as the early Daytona 675 (Comes stock on the Street Triple R) I loved this bike, for me it was the perfect all rounder 👍
Hey thanks for the comment and question. No I did not have a quick shifter fitted just roll off the throttle and smack it through no need to use the the clutch either.
That's just awesome. Given the choice would you prefer the Striple over the Daytona? Seems to me the street R would be an easier bike to ride because of the higher bars with more leverage.
+R.Williams Hey thanks for the comment. That is a very hard question given the choice I would have one of each the Daytona for the track and nice flowing corners and use the STR for tight roads etc as you are correct the STR has a lot of leverage making it easy to throw around. But please try both if you get the chance to see what you think
There is a funny thing happening on bikes when you lean them - if you look at the rear wheel from behind you will see that the diameter of the tyre in the middle (contact patch when the bike is straight) is bigger than it is on the edges (contact patch when you are leaning in the corner). As you accelerate and also lean the bike, the rear wheel suddenly has a smaller diamter which causes it to spin faster so the revs are going up a bit faster than usual. ....but...it still is a very fast bike :))
Thanks for the vid, great to watch. You were making almost everything else on the track look like they were in reverse, is the bike really that good or were most of the other guys just not trying?
Nick Burke Thanks for the reply. We have just ordered a matt black street ripple R for delivery in late August (NE Thailand). Hope we have as much fun on it as you do on yours.
@@Able4337 No its the rider obviously. How can you make that evaluation based on the bike lol. Its always the rider not the bike. I have seen people on 250 destroying 1300cc bikes.
Is everyone else on 125s? Brilliant vid!
Dang, that's some riding right there! Thanks for showing me what my STR can do LOL. Great vid.
Brilliant riding, love the early street triples brilliant bikes!
I get a twitch every time I watch this epic

@H. Nguyen The left hand is for aerodynamics ;) bars on the triple are wide! After a while you feel like your arms are being ripped off :')
Massively impressed, well done.
And great to see you owning all the sports bikes, not that the STR isn't a sports bike....
Wonderful video!
And wonderful bike; I have a 2010 Street Triple R, and I definetely love it.
Wow! Guy is an animal! Like!
funny how you grab the forks like if they were clip ons
Wild ride mate enjoyed it AF thx for sharing!
Holy balls! You have got some skills
this is me going to the shop for milk
Monster ride bro, Ill be taking my Striple to the track for the first time this saturday, pumped!
You are going to have so much fun have an awesome day!!!!!!!!!

nice riding, I love this bike
I didn't consider that the speedo was read in kilometers instead of miles and about crapped myself. Great riding!
Ha ha Lol I could only wish that was MPH MotoGP eat your heart out :). Cheers for the comment
Good to see a proper fast track day video EPIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Impressive. Congrats. Thanks for sharing.
For some reason I'd never seen this vid, looking well to where I am at min, 6 or so laps in 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻, getting my fix whilst mines in shed lol
Nice work mate, kind of embarrassing for all the track bikes out there that you put to shame.

This is way more about the rider than the bike.
Love it!
About to buy one my self
EPIC WIN LOVE IT!!!!!!!

+Jake Sisler Hey there this is at Pukekohe in New Zealand cheers for the comment.
That is not the first time around the track is it!!! I'm deciding between the 690duke or the street triple..
They are really really different bikes. If you want a bike that sounds good then go for the triple...

@@nickburke8729 Many thanks for your quick reply. This is really helpful. Picking up my striple next week :)
Great riding, great bike and great track! Have you got an opinion on the Street Triple's quick shifter Nick?
Hey thanks for the comment and question. No I did not have a quick shifter fitted just roll off the throttle and smack it through no need to use the the clutch either.
Proof you don't need a 1000 cc bike if you know how to ride a master class in riding the 675 r good to see and hear
How come they let you use a rider mounted camera? I thought it's bike mounted only, no tank
That's just awesome. Given the choice would you prefer the Striple over the Daytona? Seems to me the street R would be an easier bike to ride because of the higher bars with more leverage.

Is the engine stock? It´s ridiculously quick from 130 - 170 km/h at 1:50 or is it going downhill there?
There is a funny thing happening on bikes when you lean them - if you look at the rear wheel from behind you will see that the diameter of the tyre in the middle (contact patch when the bike is straight) is bigger than it is on the edges (contact patch when you are leaning in the corner). suspension setup is the stock???
How come they let you on with a helmet mounted camera?
Just bought one of these. 2011 ST675R. You any changes to sprockets or stay with stock 16-47?
Just stay with the stock gearing as it works so well. Have fun 😉
Nick Burke Ah good to know. Hopefully be at Cadwell this Tuesday, hopefully won’t piss it down 🌧 😬
Were you getting wheelspin out of the low speed corners???? Nice riding!!!
Yes that is wheelspin out of the slower corners. Cheers for the comment.
Thanks for the vid, great to watch.
You were making almost everything else on the track look like they were in reverse, is the bike really that good or were most of the other guys just not trying?
Yes this bike is very good as this is the fast group of the day however on paper a few of the other bikes should be faster. Cheers for the comment.

What are you doing when you take your left hand off the grips?
Super late answer, but its to make him as small as possible to reduce wind slowing him down :)
One careful owner 😜
👍👍👍👍 Super
Circuit?
Why did you grab the left fork after you did the first corner?
never mind, i assume its your lap timer?
Samuel Wicks It's all about streamlining to keep the wind drag to a minimum. The lap timer uses the starter button but I never bothered to use it.
Nick Burke I'm assuming it's an aftermarket lap timer?
Samuel Wicks no. Street triple r com with lap timer on panel. U use the start button to mark.
default gearing?
How come they put you in the 'slow' group? LOL
WTF !! NICE PACE . KEEP POSTING . CAMON GUYS SUBSCRIBE !!!!!
Nice.....
Wow
And they say Kiwis cant fly 🤪
After watching this I have no intention of ever wanting to ride this fast, I literally can feel the pain if you crashed at those speeds.
My Speed Triple does’nt go so fast so QuickType...so or is it a fake or u have a strange Street Triple...
Cristiano Collarin he is a good rider
