Man I had a few different types of these ten or so years ago I had a brushed two wheel drive and a brushless 4x4 which was my first brushless lipo car, I have never broken so much shit.. next quick RC was my Senton 3s and wow is it bulletproof compared to these and the ecx torments.
I use to race at a local on sct road group and i used this car. Ill recommend getting the Exotek steering parts and the TLR 25t servo horn. It will make a world of a difference on the steering. Also losi sell a full set of adjustable links.
I bought this rig last week and ran it Wednesday. It’s pretty fast for being brushed. But like you said, that rear tower is jacked! On the first run, 30 min or so and the rear shock cap popped off! I’m very interested in what your gonna do with this rig. I feel it drives better than my traxxas raptor!
I remember when this was released can’t wait for the brushless combo!! I had my short course rc out the other day!! Just getting the dust off of it .. I forgot how much fun a 2x4 really is !
I just purchased this kit yesterday. My suggestion for anyone with this kit would be to take apart the shocks completely. Make sure there is no friction taking place with the plunger and the main shock body well. Both of the rears were not clipped well with side-cutters and had a piece rubbing. I also used 32.5w in the front and 27.5w in the rear. I then also polished the shafts with my metal polish to get them nice and slidey! Reassembled everything and it feels like a new truck. The stock shocks are surprisingly good, once they are rebuilt. Bad QC on Losi's part here! I ended up putting a brushless combo in right away, so not sure what the 12T feels like in it, but after upgrading the turnbuckles the truck is pretty well ready to go. If you are looking for an even easier truck to drive, upgrade the radio system to something with a gyro and you can hang with 4WD no issues!
You should get a 1/10 2wd XXX Losi truck like I raced back in the early 2000's Looks like a better platform than this style truck. This one looks pretty cheaply made imo. Still very interesting to see how it performs on the track 🤔
I have some racing losis 22, older models 1.0 and 2.0 buggies and stadium trucks. A lot of stuff from those will fit on 22s directly. I’d poke on used market as they can be gotten for pennies as rollers to use as parts donor.
Before hearing your upgrade ideas I would've used it as cannon fodder for the XMaxx or the XRT. It will be pretty cool once you get to working on it though.... Potencial.
That shock towers a mess and from what I can see that 2x4 SC chassis looks different than the Losi drag chassis the drag chassis has SS bottom plate across the entire chassis and different bracing I believe..looks like a nice little SC truck tho ,I have a traxxas but I've been eyeing this one with a brushless system install ...👍💯
Check the dog bones in the back, I have one and they are barely captured in the drive cup. If you have any tips I’d love to know. They haven’t gave out on me yet, but just doesn’t seem right.
I’ve driven it a few times now, videos later, the battery at the bottom is kinda nice. Flip truck over, swap battery and go without removing the body. I will move esc to behind the servo though. Its brushless now but haven’t driven it yet.
This is supposed to be on par with Kyosho Outlaw 2WD SCT? Well yeah. Rear motor. And exposed to the dirt. Is there also a big hole in the diff that allows sand to get into Your gears? If so, it's a true to form cheapo!
Come on Joe horizon had the race version of this truck for only like 40 50 bucks more and you buy this junk ...22 4.0 sct after u get ready to throw dis junk in the trash and buy something that's worth a damn
No surprise on that low quality. That's what has happened to all of the brands that Horizon has bought out. Horizon builds junk and they definitely ruined the Losi name. If you've gotta replace so many parts out of the box that it nears the purchase price of the kit, it's garbage. Horizon sucks and they've basically monopolized the RC industry. They're the Wal-mart of the RC world.

It's $139 this week lol

where are you in nc? we run a lot of SCT racing at Backer Patch RC park in Madison county.

yep, best 2wd ever IMHO 😁

Im surprised its not mid motor. Im amazed they produce rear motor buggies and scts anymore.
Hi buddy looking forward to the video very nice truck power must 😀
Please review and build a Traxxas Hoss!
Time for upgrades xd still want to see it go around the track love the no preps
Now for the new HW Ezrun 80amp G2 and 3300kv 3652 G3 to go in.........
Itll take some time but you'll get it sorted. We always do some how
You could probably 3d print a spacer for the original shock tower
Stx2 is one of my most hated radios
yeah that radio didn't even get turned on. GT5 is in there
@@ExocagedRC I want to try out that new radiolink transmitter!
Hot racing still makes a handful of stuff for the 22S… 👍

yeah I've got the Hobbywing in there now. It should do fine and if the 3300kv isn't enough I can go higher
@@ExocagedRC Hell yeah!!!

Use a spacer at the base of the shop on the controller to bring the base out to align properly with the tower boom racing has good spacers
Bro, what?
He said get some flat washers to align the shock properly.

first thig id do is to see if the esc is moveable to a better location epoxy the door closed and fit the battery in from the top

Your gears? If so, it's a true to form cheapo!
What would happen if you were to turn around the shock tower and then fix the shocks on the front?
😁👍😊
Is this the one that was a crazy low price like 170$ or so. I saw it & thought ok get this & asap but all new electronics in it & let it rip!
$139 this week!
2wd racers prefer AE!
Over my 4+ decades of rc, I just can't bring myself to get a rtr (or now, bnf). I buy the 'team', FT, or whatever kit is available.
ah, he actually speaks
@@trentgalloway
🤷♂️
Take screw nut off the screw on the tower and it will line up
Where is the link to thumb steer. I need them lol
Www.DSMOFFROAD.com is the place to get them.
Heat up that plastic with a good heat gun and bend it a little
Come on Joe horizon had the race version of this truck for only like 40 50 bucks more and you buy this junk ...22 4.0 sct after u get ready to throw dis junk in the trash and buy something that's worth a damn
3s on brushed set up.
the rear shocktower almost looks like its on backwards
That's what you get when you buy Horizon Hobby products.
The body looks like Dollar Store quality.
Run 3800kv on 2s for that truck it's the best motor. Castle
The transmission is far better than og Traxxas trans, I will say that.
Meh! Good for a young kid or a beginner maybe but pretty basic and that STX2 is a let down. Thanks for the rundown 👍
Put ½ ounce of weight on the front 💪 get you some proline's badlands you ll be ready 😉 😎...
Should have got a 2wd Senton
Rc racing is dying, we need to bring SCT back
Send cut send.. 🤷♂️
No drive? Disappointed ☹️

I'm sorry but you should have lost lives after seeing this even Traxxas bottom of the line stuff works great
