i could be classed as biased but i own a 197 cup and its superb!!! ridiculous amount of grip, looks great isnt too fast and showy, just great at what it does, and as said great value too 👍👍. Very grounded owner who has his head screwed on too 👍👍

I’ve been debating getting one myself. Just unsure on build quality especially interior. I’d be wanting cruise control ect too. But I guess it’s a car that’s made to be driven rather than something with all the extras
@@ImJzsh hi i would recommend one definitely, they are a joy to drive due to their relative simplicity, no real frills as such just a very composed car with great handling. The build quality is good, interior wise i was quite impressed with mine and im a long standing vw owner.
I drove one of these when they first came out and loved it. Actually a brilliant wee drive handles better than any other car I've had.

I love Clios......and blue is my favourite colour, so definitely entering 👍
I sold my 197 last year after 2 years of ownership. Cheap to buy but expensive to run, mpg is rubbish for a small car and I spent a fortune replacing all the suspension bushes and arms etc.
Think the rubbish mpg a Renault thing im lucky to get 200miles out of a tank 250 on a motorway drive 😬

Oh I hope I win this 197! I've had 5 Clios but I'm currently Clio less! I need another in my life! I had a 2009 Clio 197 in Ultra Red back in 2010. Fantastic car, hugely capable, especially on a twisty Welsh road! Since that I had a 182 and a 200t, all of which were great cars. I miss the 197, it was great to drive, look at and reasonably practical too.
06 plate cars are the earliest ones made. Albi Blue is gorgeous. This car has the optional Xenon headlights, but I couldn't see the dash to see if it has the climate control and the upgraded 6 disc CD changer as other options. It has the standard RenaultSport seats rather than the upgraded Recaro Speedster seats. The front bumper is missing the lower rubber section, so that could do with being replaced. Door handles, missing the keyless lock button by the looks of it, although I could be wrong. Fingers crossed its me picking it up though Calvin! Thanks mate.

At 17 on a clio 197 you'd get badly stung on insurance.
@@stichupman yh maybe on any other car like 1 or 1.2 litre so it's a bit more affordable for insurance
@@Mo-on1fx I remember at 18 a lad I knew had at the time a nearly new mk4 golf and was paying 6k for insurance Haha. This was 16 year's ago.
Flippin hell that's too much a 17 year old would max be able to pay about 2 grand on insurance.
@@stichupman Not necessarily, insurance depends on so many factors other than the car itself. It's not a supercar, its a sub 200bhp hot hatch

wrong Clio to buy, you want a MK2 127/182.
I bought a 2002 plate clio 172 with 24k miles when it was 4 years old. Once got it home and looked at the paperwork I realised it had 5 previous owners. 🤣. I didn't keep it long probably for the same reasons the other owners didn't keep it long. 🤣🤣
What were those reasons? Bought a new one myself in 2001 and put up 50k trouble free miles on it 🤔 maybe yours had 124k miles on it and they saw you coming!

Ep3 civic type r ? Never compare your clio to that absolute masterpiece of a machine the ep3 is the daddy of hot hatches look at the prices they speak for themselves
Apart from the fact it was quicker 0-60 in the next video he posted, handles much better, has better brakes, newer and much cheaper. Ep3 is a sweet sweet car but definitely not daddy of hot hatches
