  • Some thoughts on how forward facing technology has helped my trolling this year. I've picked up a lot of knowledge through many hours of observation and will share it with you as we move forward. Pretty incredible stuff.

    I too have added forward facing sonar to my trolling arsenal. I use the precision trolling app to dial in the correct depth of my baits, however there are so many variables that the app doesn’t answer that I felt forward facing sonar could answer. I’ve only used it once in a river, but it works great at 40-50 feet, but the jury is still out for longer lines at r I can see my baits? For example, in most lakes that I troll I use crank baits that require 120 feet of line out to reach 25+ feet, I realize that I can shorten that by using weight and other things. However, I fish clear water lakes that added weight can negatively impact my hits. Hopefully Joe, this is just the beginning of more videos showing how us trollers can use this new technology to increase our success on the water!

    how deep are you fishing here? i cant seem to find any of my lures behind the boat are you running the stock angle on the forward facing ?

    • @joeokada
      @joeokada  2 роки тому

      yes, standard fwd view and it was 10-15'. practice in 20' or less and try to keep your lures within 40-50' until you are able to find everything.
