you have to admire the power of mother nature. When you combine that with tenacity of a great landscape photographer, you get that feeling of being there. Great images Thomas
Have not had the urge to comment on a video for a very long time. But having seen the locations and pictures you've been shooting for the last few video's and in particular this last one... It has truly inspired me. Thanks for beeing an inspiration. #phenomenal! Cheers
Great video! I'm an NI resident and have to admit there are some fantastic landscapes on the north coast. I visited Kinbane Head myself in the spring and got some great shots.
Thomas sir you did it again. Those pictures are beautiful. You did those locations justice. I can appreciate how much of a struggle it was with the weather. You made it look sooooooo easy. Great job.
Can't begin to say how happy I was to see this video. I visited a friend there about 12 years ago and was completely drawn to this area, visiting both Dunluce and Kinbane Castles a few times while there, taking VERY amateur pictures. Lol... Can't wait to return so I can put some of what you've taught me to good use! Thanks again for posting
Great to meet you and Charlotte in the morning and nice, honest, interesting and inspiring lecture in Belfast. A very challenging part of NI coastline, especially at this time of year and with the weather you got. Still you turned out some great shots and I hope you enjoy the rest of your trek around our particular beautiful part of the world, maybe with some better weather before you head home. Nice also to see you getting over here and good work to Richard for organising it.
Thomas, I have always loved your images and enjoy watching you. Something about that last image the long silent cliff and sky with the sea in the foreground... dammit you brought me to tears with that one for some reason...poetry, simply lovely !!!
The Dunluce Castle shots are brilliant!! Didn't know you were in Belfast. I was over to visit my daughter and family, flying back to Virginia on Tuesday. Would have loved to have had a chance to meet you. All my castle shots are from the top, several years ago. Yours are simply breath taking, mine, not so much!!! Keep up the stellar work, already planning our trip back for next fall. Love Ireland and Scotland, and its people. Thanks again, your reminder that rain and storms have much to be appreciated and opportunities to be had. Best, Bob
Top point on not getting too near to the sea in your video. I grew up in Porthleven, Cornwall, a place that has become popular for stormy sea photographs over the years. It is beautiful seeing such powerful waves and bubbling waters, but sadly a lot of people have died getting too near to the sea and being swept in. Amazing photos are one thing, but staying safe and aware of what is happening around you (and how quick it changes) is more important!
if your attitude for landscaping ever fades - it will be a sad day for the rest of us peons that follow your heartfelt sentiments - -thank you for sharing
As a direct result of your videos, I've taken a leap and booked 4 weeks up in the Shetland Islands next year as part of a work-cation. As a novice photographer, it's a terrifying leap to commit to something with so little gear and experience, but I'm just so pumped to get out there and give it a go. Just me, my XT10, a few choice lenses and a sub-arctic archipelago. Sounds perfect to me! Thanks for all the amazing videos Mr Heaton; they are truly inspiring.
I like that you incorporated the "don't let you tripod grow roots" tip that was discussed during the landscape photography workshop. It was a good tip that has stuck with me as well.
Great video Thomas , you made an awful weekend look amazing ! You got three great images but I like the last one best, typically the one when we were going back to the carpark . I enjoyed meeting you over the weekend and the great crack with the group.
Well done Thomas great video. The images capture the true feeling of mother natures fury, I just love images of light pouring through dark tumbling clouds rolling across the land/seascape.
Wow Tom, that Irish coast is amazing. Quite scarily wild 😜 but really stunning. Love those black rocks on the beach & the majestic castle in the background. Fabulous moody conditions for us to view ( not as much fun when you're getting soaked though ! ) And what an incredible sight once the storm hit the coastline, not very easy at all to photograph, nightmare. Hope that guy's kit is ok? And you got incredible images in such challenging conditions😚
The black rocks are among the oldest on the planet. The second fault line that runs through the isle of Arran which also includes Ballycastle and all the way upto the top part of Canada are the oldest rocks. You will find some amazing photography opportunities around northern and western Ireland as well as the west coast of Scotland such as the isle of Arran and the islands. The weather comes with the rugged terrain and gives it's own unique atmosphere. Lovely moody image that you took...enjoying the videos and enjoying your experiences and expertise
I must say, after thoroughly enjoying your presentation on Saturday morning, and knowing the condition you guys were heading off in to afterwards (!) I was very much looking forward to seeing how you visioned and captured the Causeway Coast. You certainly got a baptism of storm, but I love the images you got. You've captured the essence of what it's like up there so often! Next time you're over, you'll have to head up the Mournes. Some fabulous scenery there too!
Always get excited when you post a new video and this is no exception. Amazing shots despite the mad weather Thomas! Personally, I would’ve never taken out and set up my gear in that weather for fear of damaging or losing it. But it’s really nice to see what is possible if we are willing to step out of our comfort zone so long as we are being safe and smart about it. Keep up the good work and keep inspiring! :)
Thanks so much for this video Thomas. I'm off to the Dorset coast in 2 weeks time for 5 days so this "shooting in bad weather" video has given me great inspiration-always expect the worst!
Hi Thomas love your photography, rough seas windy weather cant get any better than that except for the pub at the end of the day. Regardless of the weather within safety limits, there is always a picture to take if people just take the time to stand back and look and study the scene but safety 1st. Good luck with your next vid.
Glad to see you made it over Thomas, definitely Autumn when the weather is OK is an amazing time to shoot here, maybe youll have better luck next time.
I think your shot at 9:44 might be one of my all favorites of yours. The atmosphere of that shot is incredible and then you managed to catch that lone bird completely and totally isolated out there. Amazing!
Holy hell that castle image was amazing!
I agree, has to be one of Thomas' best
Ireland is one of my favourite places on earth. The people are so generous and the landscape is breathtakingly beautiful (and wet).
you have to admire the power of mother nature. When you combine that with tenacity of a great landscape photographer, you get that feeling of being there. Great images Thomas

Some of the nicest photos this year so far. They have a moody atmosphere and capture the essence of the place.
I loved the last picture... It's all in there... The calmness as well as stormy. Awesome.. Thank you for sharing
The castle image is fantastic. Amazing grey/pink sky contrasting with the power of the waves
We had a fantastic weekend with Thomas in Northern Ireland. Can’t wait to arrange another time for him to come over again.
Sorry I missed it as I was away. Hopefully catch the next one
That last image was just insane!! So simple, yet it's a Masterpiece.
You've got to love it when Thomas, uploads!
That final image made it for me. A very nice conclusion to the stormy drama throughout.
I love to watch your videos. You make photography accessible and you truly take the viewer on a journey with you. Incredible. Thank you Thomas.
Great video! I'm an NI resident and have to admit there are some fantastic landscapes on the north coast. I visited Kinbane Head myself in the spring and got some great shots.
Same here!
And not only because your sense of composition is superb, but also your editing is always fair. Just what it must be, not more, not less.
Superb photo with the sea spray and the castle, but the final one with the cliff and the light just blows me away. Amazimg!
Northern Irelands' been on my bucket list for a while now and now I want to go even more! Great video as always ☺
Hi Kim. I live on the North coast so if you need any advice on locations get in touch, facebook/jim hamilton
Thomas sir you did it again.
Those pictures are beautiful.
You did those locations justice. I can appreciate how much of a struggle it was with the weather.
You made it look sooooooo easy. Great job.
Fantastic Images
That second picture with the tower being assailed by the waves, that is awesome photography!
Rough conditions are my favorite. Gets great images and less photographers are out. Great work Tom!
Absolutely awesome images - what a dramatic sky!

I have spent many a happy hour on that coastline. It really is incredible. Your images are amazing. Worth all the effort you put in.

Those early morning stormy images are fantastic!
So sorry to hear about your camper Thomas. Hope you manage to get it sorted soon. You need it nice and homely to get out of that mental weather!
I thought this would have been called "I drank to much Bushmills and slept in"😂. Nice meeting you over the weekend.
Well look the video at 0,75% speed, it sounds like that :P
if your attitude for landscaping ever fades - it will be a sad day for the rest of us peons that follow your heartfelt sentiments - -thank you for sharing
Loved the photo of the castle with the rocks in the foreground. Quite spectacular!
Superb images from terrible conditions, the morning’s shots were my favourites. Thanks for sharing.
Your castle image is the essence of why I hope to visit Ireland and the UK very soon. And the camera will be with me.
The first image was amazing. Extremly beautiful
If you can't have ideal weather then a storm will always brk g opportunities for challenging but rewarding images.
Great vlog as always.

Love it! Excellent conditions👌

Yes, it's imporant to move around and look before committing to a comp.

I agree with Brent, that castle image was Fantastic!
I hope to visit Ireland one day and being able to shot some pictures like yours. Thank you very much Tom for keeping us with you
Thomas...once again, beautiful images. I'm always amazed at the results you get in such difficult conditions!
My god, those two first images were absolutely gorgeous... I think my favorites this year ! Truly hope there will be some prints coming !
We experience these lovely rain curtains almost every day here in Scotland during our journey across the highlands. Stunning video.
Great images again, i love the low vibrance of the images that contributes to its mood
Some of your best pictures to date. I love them.
I love that photo of the castle, the sky gave it a really spooky look!
I think that second from last image is one of the best you’ve taken. Great dramatic weather.
You are a true artist, Thomas.

Amazing images of our country! Thoroughly enjoyed your talk on Saturday, honest and inspiring. Come back soon!
That second shot has to be one of my faves from you, I could get lost in it!
Absolutely amazing. Amazing shots. Amazing vlog. It's always a good day when you've uploaded another video! Thank you very much!
Beautiful country.
Love these dramatic photos! Great commitment on your part and the others on the trip. Well done and thank you.

Loved the first castle photo - absolutely stunning!!!! I can not wait for your camper van video - it is going to be fascinating.

Northern Ireland looks beautiful. I hope to see more videos from over there, Thomas!
I do need to return.

Absolutely stunning, particularly the first and second images.
I really love the image with the castle ruins on the cliff
Wow...just wow! Absolutely love those images!
Thank you Thomas for a very inspiring video and great pictures! Always a pleasure ...
Some absolutely stunning images
These pics has to be some of the most spectacular photos you’ve taken! 👍🏼
Great examples why bad weather is best for taking beautiful photos.
Not very often anyone would say this but I think the rain drops on the lens in the first image add to the drama. Cracking image :-)
Good Lord that castle shot is tremendous Sir Thomas...excellent!!!
Ireland is phenomenal! The images you got are also phenomenal! Love the atmosphere. Oh, and I must say, that headlight transition! Utter brilliant😀

Inspiring as always. That first castle is my favourite yet.
Well done Tom.'You can only get good shots in good weather but great shot in bad' Well with the effort keep up the good work .
I really really like the image of the castle. All of your images are great but that particular image has really stood out amongst your work
Love that last one Thomas!!!

Wow. I particularly liked the first image. Must visit Ireland some time.
Those are some phenomenal scenes Thomas! I love the images you made, they really show the brutal conditions you were shooting in. Very moody!
That first image is stunning, might be my favourite shot of yours this year!
I think your shot at 9:44 might be one of my all favorites of yours. The atmosphere of that shot is incredible and then you managed to catch that lone bird completely and totally isolated out there. Amazing!
I realy enjoy minimalism of the last picture of your video. Great and magic !
Some great work Thomas good to see some moody colours and wider shots. Really enjoyed this vlog you never fail to inspire thanks.
