As usual, a lovely video. I was through Connemara a couple of times in my younger days. It's hard to rate because the whole west coast is beautiful. I'd have to give every part of it 10 out of 10!!!
Stunning shots as usual, big man. Do you have the cúpla focail as well? If you have the time, North Galway would be worth a look as well: my grandmother was born near Leenane, and there’s some breathtaking scenery round Delphi/Leenane/Ashleigh Falls. The ground there is so stony in parts that one would struggle to lay out a football pitch! Of course, that area was also where The Field film was shot, starring Richard Harris.
@nakedireland Indeed you're not! My parents brought me over to England for a few years as a kid, came back at 12. I was shocked to see that I knew as much as most of the kids who did primary school locally, apart from those who went to the local Gaelscoil. Knowing a bit of Irish opens a whole world of history, music, literature and culture that often remains hidden when you only speak English. Just my two cents. Isn't there a Gaeltacht in Belfast these days?
I agree, any language opens up new horizons and Irish, for ourselves, particularly so. My daughter and I have been threatening to take a house in Donegal for a few months to hot house ourselves. Belfast, absolutely it has a large Irish speaking community now.
Stunning scenery in Ireland I do miss it. I haven’t been to that part of Ireland, yet 😁. Wow Kylemore Abbey is stunning, that’ll do for me 😆. I have seen it on pictures before but hadn’t placed it until your film.
Absolutely breathtaking, Connemara is my favorite part of the country. This was all north of the Twelve Bens. It might be worth filming the south of Connemara. Roundstone Bog, Lettermore , Lettermullan. A complete different landscape with hardly any trees, but so impressive and beautiful and sometimes desperate. The weather changes quickly there and so do the colors in the landscape.
It is beautiful but can be bleak (but still beautiful) depending on the weather. I took a bus from Waterford to Connemara to fly to the Aran Islands. Kept a watch for the lovely Connemara ponies, too.
Wow! Looks stunning on video, so must be absolutely beautiful in reality. Reminds me a little of my favourite part of the UK - Wester Ross in Scotland. Definitely my type of landscape! It’s now on my list.
As...People_of_the_Mouse... said Diamond is beautiful, second only to the holy mountain of Croagh Patrick. We away to Westport and Belmullet for a week on Monday and cant wait. Great video Greg and BTW can you tell us what the name of the theme music played throughout is called. Many thanks, have a great Easter. Very informative. Did you know that Diamond Hill was Irelands first national park.
Oh, enjoy Westport. The music in the video is my own. On this particular video it starts with a track called Skipping and then I discreetly mix in another track at the end called Beddy Byes. I use these tracks mostly on my videos, although I do have a few classical guitar pieces that I also use occasionally.
Like Killarney but without the n, no? Love Connemara, something about the place just speaks to the soul, even with is bleakness it's just so beautiful.

Couldn’t agree more Eugene. The west of Ireland is a different world! Thanks for commenting.
We have. we had a friend from dublin as our driver and stayed in clifden. I evenclimbed diamond hill
Cliften is lovely. I’ll be doing a film on that soon.
Thank you for portraying this area so beautifully having travelled extensively throughout Ireland, Connemara remains one of our favourite parts.
And mine too John, I’d have to say. Breathtaking. Thanks for watching.

Many thanks. Not too many focail unfortunately, three years of it at school just. It’s a big regret, but sure you’re never too old.

From Letterfrank to Killadoon, from Cleggan to Joseph Flanagan's, the wind doth blow, you're in the teeth of the mighty Atlantic!
Ain’t that the truth!

It’s such a beautiful house, in a stunning setting. Next time I’ll take the tour and do a full film on it.
@@nakedireland I look forward to seeing a film on a tour Greg, I enjoy old houses. I wish I could go myself.
I’ll go for you - that’s my function, I’m a Rob substitute!
@@nakedireland About time you realised that 😂 😂 😂.
😂😂😂

That’s a great idea Frits. Maybe I can do that at some point.
Lovely video, well done!
Glad you enjoyed it! Keep watching. 👍🏼
I've been to Connemara twice and love it!
Who wouldn’t Stephanie? It’s so beautiful. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Connemara Ponies, that’s true, totally forgot about them. That’s a film in itself.

Stunning scenery, thanks for sharing!
You, especially, are very welcome
Simply stunning and well a well shot video👍👍👍😎
Thank you so much Donall. To be honest, it’s all so beautiful, it’s not hard to make it look good!
I just found your channel and I’ve been really enjoying your videos so far. I just started watching a show on Tubi that is set in Connemara.
So glad you enjoy them Laura. There are plenty for you to catch up on - almost 200 at this stage?
Leenaun is my favourite place in Connemara
I passed through it but didn’t stop unfortunately. Next time though.

Pronounced KILL•a•ry as opposed to kil•LA•ry fjord.
Sorry about that Thomas. Thanks for the correction, and thanks for watching.

Yes Matt, beautiful in any weather!
