    Poor, beautiful Claire. People often suck, but at least when it was time for her to go over the rainbow bridge, she left knowing that she was treasured by humans, not just abused and abandoned. Thank you for helping her go. Hopefully, her friend, Stout, will find a new buddy to keep him on the right path.

    Lovely episode; thanks for all you do. I ran a rescue for a few years, it can be heartbreaking but also extremely rewarding. I did get very sad over the loss of sweet Clare; at least in her final days she knew the love that she obviously did not have before you.

Thank you for looking out for her best interest and not letting her suffer any more. That's true love. I can't wait to see the next show... ya'll are so strong and amazing - thank you for looking out for the horses AND each other!!!!

    I'm so sorry about Claire. It's a shame because it could have been prevented with basic hoof care.
    I was looking at the black horse by the fence around 10 or so minutes in. It looks like a Morgan. Very pretty. They are all beautiful. That Appy mare is going to feel so much better. 🙂

    I’m in northern IL and we bought additives ( hollow glass beads) to add to paint, to provide insulation. Some areas of our home we put 5-8 coats. About 10 years ago the furnace died in a 35 below wind chill. It never got below 60 F.So I highly recommend you investigate the multiple types of insulative materials.

  • @tracyjohnson2992
    @tracyjohnson2992 Рік тому +2

    This is the first time i have watched this channel and i have to say people do not know how hard it is to work in a rescue. it is heart warming but it is also devastating. not just with horses but for all animals. People just don't understand an attachment you get with your animals you rescue. I have rescued all my animals i have had except for two of them who were born from the two i had rescued. Animals love us unconditionally no mater what size they are or what species they are. People who own or work for or volunteer for have hearts of gold but it also plays on your emotions to its like being on a roller coaster where there are highs and then lows. Horses get attached to each other also when i saw the X-rays on little Claire i knew there was nothing that they could do for her. That is the hardest part of the rescues is letting go for the sake of that poor pony's pain and suffering something the owners should have dealt with instead they gave her up so someone else can foot the bill for her care. Why do owners do that well i have my theories. Claire had been suffering for a very long time bless her he feet must have been extremely painful for her but she didn't complain she just took it and lived with it. this is what breaks my heart. having to say good bye to such a sweet little girl. How many times have i heard in my life "well its just an animal they don't have feelings they do not understand its just a dumb animal". This is usually the part where i loose my temper. Animals are far from dumb, they feel pain just like the rest of us humans, they probably understand more about you than your willingness to understand them and they need us as much as we need them. I have loved horses my whole life and to see an animal suffering like Claire and many other horses and farm animals domestic pets and even the wild animals all have the right to live. I gave up eating any kind of meat because i saw how animals have been treated by humans. there are thousands of ways you can find things like this out on You tube, undercover filmography, news paper clippings animal rescues and help clear some of the things they see every day. It is always shocking to me how people who say they love animals and then leave an animal injured or don't give them the basics to care for them. they get beaten why? because they do not understand the question being asked of them people getting frustrated enough to beat an animal should not have an animal ever. Do your homework before getting any kind of animal work out what you have to buy for that animal, accessories, tack, toys, food, accommodation, to most of us this is common sense but there are some people out there where common sense is like a different language foreign. Id you are not going to do your homework on the animal that you want then don't get an animal because that animal will only be worse off for it. There is too much ignorance out there if it doesn't affect me then i do not need to know, well that is the mindset that ends up putting these horses and other animals in a worse state. Look at the result of little Claire's life and the other horse pacing up and down in a panic looking for her wondering where she is. My guess is they came from the same place and it is so heart breaking for the animals to have to go through this trauma for what, someone who couldn't do the right thing by the animal and give her the love and basic attention she needed to be able to live her best life and she died at such a young age, well that is the biggest sin of all.

    Now here are folks who must know how to welcome Spring! I live in Southeast Texas and watching this makes me appreciate that fact for right this minute. Too many bugs and mosquitoes; too much heat and humidity in summer, but I can feel my extremities pretty much year 'round. I still remember a winter in Kansas City, Missouri. Being from down here, I thought Spring was supposed to come in March...and it didn't. I thought it never would. Big ups to you for all you do and what you go through to do it!

    Great start to the New Year showing us Pony Tales. I cried about Claire. Poor darling having been treated that way. I hope little Stout pulls through his grief, he will make a great wee pony for someone to love on.
    From when I first saw you guys on Horse Rescue with Tawnee and Jason to now your rescue centre has come a long way and is looking wonderful. Well done! Just got to say I'm loving your vet. He's a man that gets down to business but also has time to have a chuckle here and there. You need to be a very special person to not only be a vet but also to help where it is desperately needed at rescue centres etc.
    You have a wonderful caring team.

    That was a great episode. Darn glaciers leaving all those rocks, haha. And god. I do NOT miss Wisconsin winters. 2 decades of it with my horses was enough. Glad to be living a little farther south now.
    So sad about little Claire, but very happy to see how well Daphne responded to the hoof care. She's such a sweet girl, who's been through too much grief. I'm still stunned at the loss of Miles. I remember when you were saying that it was probable Daphne would have to be euthanized once her foal was born. I'm so glad it wasn't necessary. One silver lining anyway.

    I've learned from watching this stuff that there are an endless amount of horses and other animals being severely abused and neglected, never mind the cats, dogs, and others! What we need is FAR more severe penalties and very large rewards for reporting them. Get em both ways! Because this has to stop.
    By my very sloppy estimate, there are nearly 1000 every month. How shameful of the US to allow it, but then the US allows an endless amount of corruption, and miscarriage of justice.
