@biotaw1 - Well said m8, There are plenty of Bmw's petrol and diesel with well over 200,000 miles on them, if looked after and serviced properly they will run almost forever... German cars rule. Honda did make a Civic Vti which had 150hp stock way back in the early 90's which was a 1.6 with a very close to the magic 100bhp per litre engine, fast car for the day capable of 135mph which is fast for a na 1.6 even today...
I have a 2004 530d and I eat up a 2007 330i everytime, so 328 I dont think so.. Either the 328 has been tuned or diesel driver should not have the priviledge to drive a diesel.... Diesel is king !!

wrong my ass. im out here on these autobahns everyday, i dont care what the bmw books say, honda says my car does 0-60mph in 8.4 seconds and does 16.4@ 86mph on the quartermile and i did 0-60 in 7.8secds with snow tires with alittle wetness and the quartermile at 15.9@ 88mph. I see 330d's waxing 328i's all day, especially on the long haul

Diesel engine is stronger, has better materials to sustain bigger pressure, than a petrol engine, BUT enforce the petrol engine with forged pistons, turbo, and the diesel has no chances. Besides diesels are boring and for misers. Life's too short to drive a diesel.

'03 onward 330d has 200bhp and 7 0-60, not to mention better tunability, more torque, better mpg, etc. only i love the sound of those l6 engines.
