And how do you feel now that you went through the process of EARNING the rights and privileges of being witness to this information... and now this "brother" makes it available to just ANYONE??? I'm appalled.
@JustaGuyx91 I'm not sure what you mean. I haven't seen him say anything esoteric or secret, it's all in the booklets we get at the beginning and are told we can show anyone interested.
Recently initiated as an Entered Apprentice, and I have begun my work in the degree. There is a lot of memory work, to be sure, but it is slowly making sense. I enjoy your videos, and hope to see more. Thanks, brother Jared.
Thanks Jared for all the videos and words of wisdom. Being currently an EA in Oregon I’m constantly thinking about this stuff. Both the Gavel and 24” gauge. Again from a younger mason, thank you.
Excellent information, thank you. I am looking forward to petitioning my local lodge and being initiated into this beautiful organization. Greetings from Chicago, IL.
Great perspective on the working tools, understanding the movement from operative to speculative Masonry help me a lot as I'm learning them now as an EA.
Interesting, thank you for sharing. My mother was born and raised in Batley, Yorkshire, England. Hopefully I'll be able to come out that way someday to see her family again and the area where she grew up.
First of all, thank you for your channel! It's very educational, indeed. I have one question: I understand that there are secrets you can learn only when you become a freemason and I respect that, but could you please just try to explain what's the reason for their secrecy? I mean, afterall, these secrets may benefit even non freemasonry members, may they not?
Hi Jared, I’m from England and just awaiting my initiation. In craft masonry or blue lodge I believe it is called. How does this differ to yours. Thanks
As Grand Secretary of the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Mississippi, F. & A. M., I assure you that all I put on here is perfectly legal, per our bylaws.
@SEEiNF EYE RECORDS It is perfectly in order to disclose any part of our ritual except that which is obligated not to be disclosed.. the sign, grip and word of the Degree being worked.
The reference to the word ruler is incorrect, a ruler is someone like a king the measurement instrument is called a RULE. In the UGLE there are three tools, 24 inch rule, the common gavel and the chisel. In fairness your text does get across the general principle of being a 1st degree mason. It appears that the American use a different form of ritual which would be interesting to see should I have the opportunity of visiting the USA and subsequently a lodge .
And, in the USA, the ritual is different, in some measure, from state to state. I am sorry that putting it in a more common vernacular, ruler instead of gauge, troubled you so much. I just know that here, in the USA, we get used to calling the straight edge measurement device found in classrooms as a "ruler", so, I wanted to be clear what a 24 inch gauge is by citing a term that those googling these videos would be more familiar with. In our ritual the word is always "gauge".
You have my permission. All I ask is that you don't "rip" the videos. If your lodge does not have internet and you have to "rip" them to be able to show them in lodge, then just ask the Brethren to visit the YT channel and subscribe, as a way of saying thanks :-)
I deal with advanced adepts of Alchemy. There is no room for speculative symbolism. I want to see the real symbolism. We deal with the Reality of Existence.
@@WhatisaMason Thanks for the reply, Jared! Thanks to you I've decided to petition. Most of my interviews and checks are done and I'm very excited to join in and meet the members at/of the Wynberg Lodge in Cape Town, South Africa in person, for the first time. I'm quite nervous actually. Think it might just be more like a feeling of excitement. It has been difficult meeting face-to-face during the pandemic. I'm Holding Thumbs. It would be an honor to be accepted and to join in the ranks of this amazing group of men. (Not sure if I'm allowed to refer to them as a group of brethren yet, even if it does excludes me) Anyway, thanks again for the channel. It gave me much more insight into the craft and definitely made my decision much easier and more comfortable. Have a good one and be blessed. from South Africa with Love - Heinrich
you are welcome to visit Lodge 929 in Hannover-Germany, Lodge of Bridge of Fellowship.Lodge Bridge of Fellowship is one of several Lodges that make up The Grand Lodge of British Freemasons in Germany within the United Grand Lodges of Germany.
You learn in the first degree that as a man of honour a mason would rather ???? than improperly divulge the secrets entrusted to him. At least whichever Grand Lodge you work under have diluted and changed the workings from The United Grand Lodge Of England so much that it makes small mercy. You have missed out a tool out as well????
It is true the the UGLE uses slightly different ceremonies and ever different tools to explain their symbolism, but I would argue that the overall message is the same.
I've read that membership is declining. By watching these videos and finding that most of my friends are members, it's it's given me the push i needed to join.
It is subjective, as you put it. Religion is a very divisive topic - that is pretty clear. We do require some belief in a higher being, yes, but we don't require for it to be any particular one. But, being religious men (so to speak), we still pray - to open and close our meetings, for guidance, for the sick, etc. But how to we pray if there are people from many religions in the room? We use umbrella-type terms, like deity. I hope that helps.
Happy to discuss it with you if you like. Everything in the video is public information, and has been published as such in books and periodicals of respected masonic organizations for centuries.
What is a Mason it doesn't matter where the information can be found. You took a vow of secrecy. If people want to find public information, let them. Broadcasting it, when you're not meant to, is wrong. This is not your decision to make and I'm quite certain Grand Lodge would agree.
I'm quite certain you are incorrect. My Grand Master watches the videos and has always been a supporter. Knowledge that I make these videos is well known locally and lodges even use some of my videos for educational presentations. Your understanding of what the vows state is a common misconception, in my opinion. You vow to keep the secrets of Freemasonry secret - which, by the landmarks, includes the modes of recognition. Locally my Grand Lodge also retains portions of the ritual work as secret. Which is why, if you choose to watch more videos, you will see that there is plenty that I do not share. I hope that helps clarifies my position a bit. If your Grand Lodge would frown on these videos then perhaps it is best for your own sake to avoid viewing them further. However, I believe that if you spoke to those whom you trust to give you a well thought response and not just a kneed-jerk reaction that they will agree that the videos do not violate any obligation and, therefore, are acceptable for viewing. Thank you for letting me know your concerns, and at the least I hope you can better understand why I do not hold the same concerns, while I do still retain the secrets in my breast.
What is a Mason I'm not speaking about local grand lodges, I mean nationally. My own Grand Lodge is the UGLE and it's quite clear that anything that goes on inside a lodge is not to be discussed outside. I have no doubt that your intentions are well placed but rules aren't there to be interpreted. Once that lodge door is shut, mouths too are shut.
Well, I hope we can part on an agreement to disagree. The UGLE has published plenty of the material in the past and I am sure it will continue to do so. I appreciate that you had a concern for me and what I am doing, but I will not be heeding your concern.
Just had my EA initiation yesterday. Very powerful experience!
And how do you feel now that you went through the process of EARNING the rights and privileges of being witness to this information... and now this "brother" makes it available to just ANYONE??? I'm appalled.

@@justaguyx9161 this is all public and open knowledge we are willing to tell anyone .
i met a few mason's. One showed me the 24 inch ruler. he told me when i sign the petition i learn more about it. thanks for the info.
It is a simple but valuable lesson.
Recently initiated as an Entered Apprentice, and I have begun my work in the degree. There is a lot of memory work, to be sure, but it is slowly making sense. I enjoy your videos, and hope to see more. Thanks, brother Jared.
+10 points for spelling my name properly. Congratulations Brother!
I had my initiation last month, thank you for reminding me that brother
Thanks Jared for all the videos and words of wisdom. Being currently an EA in Oregon I’m constantly thinking about this stuff. Both the Gavel and 24” gauge. Again from a younger mason, thank you.
Those tools are important ones, for sure.
When can a mason join another lodge? Does one have to be raised to Master Mason before traveling?
He can visit at anytime, but he must be a MM in one lodge before he can have dual membership in other lodges as well.
Excellent information, thank you.
I am looking forward to petitioning my local lodge and being initiated into this beautiful organization. Greetings from Chicago, IL.
Good luck!
No chisel? In the UK we include the chisel as the 3rd tool.
Thank you for the video.
Great perspective on the working tools, understanding the movement from operative to speculative Masonry help me a lot as I'm learning them now as an EA.
Thank you Brother
I’m just curious, what is this video for?
Brother, informative video. As a newly entered apprentice, I enjoyed your teachings Cambridge, uk
I'm sure there were some differences, but I am glad you were still able to appreciate it. Thank you for the kind words.
I think your next video is going to get in my fav part of the first degree. In fact my fav part of all degrees.
I hope it lives up to your expectation, as much as it can online.
Thank you Jared.
my Favorite tools. we never stop using them
Indeed not! A great point!
I'm a master Mason in England and our entered apprentice working tools are 3 tools not 2. However still similar scripture with a slight variance.
Interesting, thank you for sharing. My mother was born and raised in Batley, Yorkshire, England. Hopefully I'll be able to come out that way someday to see her family again and the area where she grew up.
Sorry, got the reference to rule wrong it should 24 inch gauge.
It's strange how much things change in other countries! In the UK we have the chisel aswell as the guage and gavil!
Isn't it interesting?
@@WhatisaMason yeah it's amazing! I'd love to visit an overseas lodge one day!
I am fairly certain we in PA are not to discuss this outside of the craft.
Jurisdiction by jurisdiction sure can be tricky. Good on you for keeping to your lodge's protocols.
Not sure about PA, but we in India would likely not discuss any of this outside of lodge.
In SC this one one of the few things that is public.
Jonathon Smith Same as Louisiana. All our working tools lectures are published in our monitor, which is open to the profane.
In KS the working tools are one item that are public information.
Merry Christmas Brother!!!

I'd like to answer that in a video. Please subscribe and keep an eye out, it will be a few weeks before it comes up.
Hi Jared, I’m from England and just awaiting my initiation. In craft masonry or blue lodge I believe it is called. How does this differ to yours. Thanks
Please help me understand your Q better - are you asking if we too call it Craft or Blue Lodge Masonry, or are you asking how it differs in general?
What is a Mason yes how does it differ. Thanks
Interesting variation of England's words for the same
Are the working tools of the entered apprentice considered as one of the secrets in freemasonry ?
Great video.
Thanks!
great work brother
Thank you
What is a Mason i wanna join
Great videos Brother!
Thank you very much!
Once again thank you brother
FYI the first two links in the description are the same.
Oops, thank you, I will look into this.
What true Freemason discloses ritual in a non tiled public forum. You should be brought up on charges.

Many disabilities, yes.
Then what do they mean by being physically sound?
I have MS and I'm fine with my brethren accepting me as an EA.
