We moved to Bangalore 2 years ago and the sambar is different here from other places. Since my family loves South Indian food and I love cooking, I started looking for a Bangalore style sambar recipe. After going through many, I could relate to the taste of yours. It’s been a year that I follow your recipe and it comes out perfect every single time. My family and I love it and I get loads of love and appreciation from them. I want to thank you for sharing your treasure with the world🙏🏻 * I do not put coconut and drumsticks due to personal preference and it still tastes yummmm😋
This is the best and closest recipe out there that gives you the darshini sambhar taste. You can choose to add any vegetable your family prefers, that does not change the base taste of this amazing sambhar. Its best with idli, vada, dosa etc not rice. The likes and views do not do justice to the recipe and quality.
I'm from Tamilnadu, born and raised in Chennai. Grew up on a steady diet of idli and sambar from Ratna Cafe, Sangeetha, Welcome hotel etc. I love both styles of Sambar, cannot decide which is my favourite. I'm gonna try this recipe soon. Thanks for sharing! PS can I skip drumsticks? I'm not a big fan of it.
nuggekaayi is a no no for darshini style sambaar. Adding tamarind water (puli jalam) is typical Tamil style cooking. bellaa and sakkare?! A bit too much sweet. Otherwise, this is a very authentic approach..
Live the Bengaluru darshini one because I can digest it. I can't digest the other south Indian versions as I have gastritis. Very grateful for her recipe❤
Originel authentic sambar is udupi sambar ,the birthplace of sambar tamilien & kerala sambar is fake copy - they use too much hing - jaggery is a must for originel sambar weather one likes it or not .
😂😂 don't be too chauvinistic and bigoted ... Do some research on origin of sambar... It was accidentally made by marathas in Thanjavur, TN... You just can't claim everything to have originated from your state... Try to appreciate every state's speciality

Thank you. Drumsticks gives a unique flavour that you cannot get with other veggies. You can omit it but the flavour will be missing.
Does it worth the try? Did it match our mylapore Ratna Cafe taste?

Sambar description and warning in Tamil 🤣🤣🤣👍
There is no drumstick in Bangalore style darshini sambar
Darshini style sambar never has drum stick in it.

I agree about jaggery being a must for sambar.
You wasted so much paste which was in the mixer.
okay :)
I made this, it turned out to be a complete disaster. It was too dark. I guess I put too much dry chili and tamarind
🙏
Wait a Minute, Who Puts Sugar in Sambar ?
This is not bangalore idly sambar... there should be pumpkin...
Llll
Definitely not bangalore style
