Awesome stuff you post I will be in the area next year I used to haul tons of hay from center, monte Vista area I'm buying a business close to your area.seen Paulson and faucett still running hay wagons who's your friend who trucks may need to hop in a truck In the off season
TheRiddickFarm purchasing a lodge up on platoro I have been a heavy diesel wrench for 26 plus I'll need work from Jan through April then I'll be on the mountain from may through late October
i was just setting it aside for a bit because the truck will be overweight if we 36 bales on, so we put 4 on the first row and 5 on the last row, the rest have 6 in a row, for a total of 34 bales. thanks for watching!
your welcome and if you don't mind me asking.i was wounding if you could make a living off just hay farming if you had used equipment and had the land and customers and baled round and small square bales and have a nice day
Yep. it's all about getting 48,000 on the trailer and God help us if it's over because the DOT will make you pay through the nose... while eating a sandwich made from the end product of what we're trying to provide.

awesome! thanks for watching. gathering footage of barley harvest now
Why did you put that 1 bale on the ground by itself??? curious

understood - thanks
Here in Alberta Canada we generally have 4 on the nose then 5 rows of 3 second row of 3 then you offset the top 2 bales so they hold them together.
have you ever done any big square bales of just grass hay
david travis yes, we have some land that is grass, and we do custom baling for neighbors with grass fields
TheRiddickFarm I gotcha
Nice truck and video and do you just do hay or do you have other crops too?
Mostly hay, we grow barley to, and some cows. We do custom tillage work and baling for some friends as well. Thanks for watching!

david travis yes you can, good small bales sell like crazy. round bales are not as easy to sell as big square bales though.
i gotcha and thanks for answering my question and hope you have a nice afternoon
What are these bales weighing? I'm guessing that's why you went 2 hi in the front? Weight, weight, weight.
exactly! these ones were averaging 1530 lbs a piece. thanks for watching!
