Wow! Thanks so much Summer for your original and natural reaction to this chilean jewel called Mira Niñita of our legendary band "Los Jaivas". The band was founded in Viña del Mar, in the coast of the center of Chile, and my mother lived there and was neighbor of them. When I was a child during the 80's and Los Jaivas became very famous, my mother said "Oh those hippies always with long hair and without shoes!!! hahaha". She was very formal then. The name Los Jaivas came from the original name "The High & Bass" doing a play with the meaning of Bass in spanish which means "Bajo" which is the instrument but also means "small", because the three Parra Brother's were tall but Alquinta and Mutis were small. But it was difficult to pronounce and was "chilenized" to "Los Jaivas". Jaivas is a mollusk very common in their city. Finally, this song was written for a little girl, which could be Alquinta's daughter or somebody else, but it is full of love and hope for that girl. The vocalist during the song was always "Gato" Alquinta, only in a different more rocking mood at the end. Regards from Chile!! 🙂

Los Bunkers y Los Prisioneros son excelentes bandas de Chile, pero nada suena similar a los Jaivas, ellos son únicos aquí en mi país y en el mundo. 60 años de trayectoria así que hay muchas canciones para que reacciones.
