  • It's taken 5 years, but I finally have a Traska in for review, and this is version 5 of their Freediver. Over the past five years, there have been a lot of changes to get to this (mostly) final version. Watch the video and then head to the comments and let me know what you think of the Traska Freediver. And if you need even more, there is a written review linked below as well.

    I'm kind of glad I got the v4, which is all-brushed. I get the appeal of the polished surfaces, but the all-brushed finishing feels more appropriate to the watch.

    Great review. I was considering this because I really like the look and the size. I’ve also heard very good feedback on Traska. Your review convinced me to get one! Thanks.

    Appreciate that you dove down to the comparisons of all versions. Great to know Traska is always evolving.

      Thank you. Yeah I figured since this was the first one I was reviewing and that some may not be familiar, it was a good idea to go over the evolution briefly.

    So overall would you recommend this watch? Worth 660?

    • @watchreport
      @watchreport  3 місяці тому +3

      I try not to recommend anything to anyone. I show it at every angle in the video and discuss it and give my opinion. As far as worth, I think it’s a good watch for the price, but only you can decide if it’s worth it to you.

    I think it looks great. I would prefer brushed sides but it’s not a dealbreaker

    Would buy if not for high polish

    Sweet piece. I’d like them to do a yellow dial in the same shade as a Halios Seaforth “Bahamas”. That would be sick!

      Yellow dial would be nice! So would a nice deep orange.

    Solid video. It's a great looking watch for sure. I definitely like the no-date version. Thanks for confirming that it is supplied with plenty of links. Those of us with 7.5" to 7.75" wrist sizes will certainly appreciate having the extra links. Additionally, I prefer a slightly loose fit, so the extra links become absolutely essential. Thanks for the review!

      Yes it was nice to see that I had to remove quite a few links for my wrist as a lot of these smaller sizes microbrand watches tend to have small bracelets. The rest of Traskas lineup are smaller watches )38, 39mm etc) so I wonder if they have the same size bracelets too.

    no crown guard.

    • @watchreport
      @watchreport  6 місяців тому +1

      Correct.
      A Tudor black bay doesn’t have crown guards either. Neither does an Oris Sixy Five…

      just think that divers watch should have a crown guard , otherwise just a tough field watch.@@watchreport

    While that is a nice watch i feel like i can get as good of quality from San Martin for a lot less. That is the same clasp San Martin uses now or at least appears to be the same. Good review!

    • @watchreport
      @watchreport  6 місяців тому +2

      Well I guess you can say that about a lot of microbrands these days with the arrival of San Martin, Seestern, Steel Dive etc. But then you are buying direct from the factory, have to return to Asia if there is an issue and after sales support can be an issue as well. I guess if you can get something cheap enough, it might not matter, but until they start ripping off Traska I don’t think you’ll get one that looks exactly like this but sure you can probably find similar. And yes this clasp is used by many, as it is produced in China.

      Original design, Miyota 9XXX, fully articulated bracelet, scratch resistant coating - virtually non of this is offered by San Martin. (However I appreciate SM as well👌)
