In Finland We Have This Thing Called... Angry Birds

SEASON FINALE!!!
We saved the best for last, well at least the most known Finnish export in modern times. Or well, the export is known worldwide, but not that many know it’s from Finland, prkl. ;-)
In honor of the DVD/Digital of the movie Angry Birds 2 we wanted to pay tribute to this excellent showing of creativity and vision. The rebellious touch of creating games stems back to 2003 when the founders were still studying at Uni.
Rovio was originally called Relude and got its current name, which means pyre in Finnish, in 2005. And the founders definitely have had a pyre in their pants ever since, just look at what they have accomplished. You might not know that Angry Birds is actually the company’s 52nd game…
With the incredible success of Angry Birds, Rovio started to acquire loads of game and VFX creators. Personally I was hit with a wet rag (as we say in Finland) when a tv-project we were just starting got cancelled because Rovio bought the VFX company and assigned all talent to only work on Angry Birds content. prkl =)
The success continues and we are all excited about the future of Rovio, Angry Birds and Finnish ingenuity!…
