I don’t think of unrivaled as a competitor to the w. It’s a spectacle and an earning opportunity and I’ll def watch but it’s just 3x3. I think Athletes Unlimited will ultimately be more fun to watch
I agree that the WNBA needs competition to make it grow or to shut it down for good. However, I don’t think 3x3 is the way that unrivaled should’ve went about but we’ll see. I just don’t see enough interest in 3 on 3 basketball.
3X3 is an opportunity for players to showcase their skills and build their fanbase. Those eyes will follow them in the W. They are making more money in Unrivaled. They aren’t using it to try and grow the league, but it can help.
Lexie Hull had just over 5 points last season. Angel was shooting 11% from 5 feet to 9 feet under the basket. Rae Burrell from the Sparks had just under 6 points last season. The Unrivalled finals are held at the same time as the NCAA women's March madness tournament begins. Competing against the NFL, NHL, and NBA in an untested 3 on 3 basketball league that holds 850 people. Why do you think the WNBA starts later in the season? Over 70 % of the players in this league are mediocre to say the least. Watch this league fold after one season.😂😂😂😂😂
It wasn't forced its who was invited and who signed up. These players are good its basically a Allstar game every game. I like the selection. They all capable of 15 to 20 points on their respective teams

I think they’ll eventually build up to 5x5. Starting off with 5x5 would mean more players, more equity, and more money needed to pay them.
