Katie best thing I have ever found to remove stains from white tails.. use a regular shampoo first, mix with baking soda and make a paste. Rub it in and let it stand for 15 minutes, then rinse that out with white vinegar. After that wash as normal with a purple shampoo. You will be shocked how lovely and white it will get. I showed ApHC and my number one horse was a palomino the number 2 was a leopard Appy with a white tail. I tried everything and this is the only thing I found that worked.
Regina reminds me of my paint , I had growing as a kid, her name was Bunny , she was a Spicey girl but such a beauty 😊 We only had 4 horses , Blaze a big ole boy , he was a quarter horse. Then we had Shreveport, who my Dad brought home from Louisiana Downs , he was a young race horse who got hurt and they wanted to put him down and Dad brought him home. We also had Silver Studd , he was beautiful but had a bit of a temper. Then our Grandpa gave my Sister his miniature pony , Popcorn.. quite the adventures we had as kids but eventually Dads job took us else where and had to sell most of the farm. I know I was still young and life doesn’t always work the way we think it should , but I know the lord is the one guiding our path. I just remembered how much personality each one of those horse had. ❤Nice memories there😊

Congrats, Katie. They are so addictive. They foal around 330 days. Longest gestation was 349, that was my heart horse Tori. Shortest was 325, small mare large foal. It seems the smaller the foal (in minis) the longer the gestation. We always do live cover, never ai because minis are so portable. I won't touch the hormone manipulation in my mares and always had good pregnancy rates. Never miss the births and give your mini mares plenty of outdoor exercise (dry lots limit grass) and you should be golden with good births.
For my 4 white sock horse I use Daz which in uk is washing powder it works great just got to rinse it well or the special shampoo for grey horses but bottles are pretty small in uk xxx

Ok for white. Try some diatomaceous earth. That's what we use on the Clydesdales feather to keep them white and bug free. Use on dry hair work it in scrub it and comb out after bath
This is late, but best way to wash tail is get a bucket and fill it with water and soap and soak the tail in there. You can scrub the tail in the bucket. I have clean so many white tails with this method. With the bucket you can only wash the tail and not get the whole horse wet. It’s the only way you can wash horse in the winter in Finland
Why don’t you use a hose end sprayer that has the soap container attached so you can spray soapy water making baths super fast and thorough? It drives the soapy water right down to the skin instantly.
Okay so i don't know is this will work for you but it worked for me back in the day when i was competing on my pinto. :P I normally took a bucket of warm water and just let the tail soak in there for like 4-5 min so it got like completely wet. And then i washed it in some regular shampoo, and then second time in purple shampoo. And when everything is rinsed out and you feel like it's white enough i put in some Show Shine while it's wet and i mean a lot of showshine. Especially on the ends.... Let it dry, brush it and voila. Show shine also helps with the dirt not getting stuck. Maybe it will help? There is also some people who works in a paste of baking soda and shampoo. Scrub the stained parts and leave this on for about 15 minutes before thoroughly rinsing the tail with white vinegar. but i have never tried this method myself! :D

Also try cooking flour get tail/mane and white legs wet get on enough flour to coat all colored (dirty) areas, keep horse is dry area that kept clean, when dry rinse out, wash and condition This is fabulous to use on legs if not heavily stained, you usually can get away with just brushing the legs. try useing ketchup on the ends on the tail, it works wounders on my grey boy. let it sit max 5 min at a time and rise out and then shampoo after.
