- All horses that are registered in a breed association HAVE to have a “registered name” and number that is unique to them. Here are all of my horses unique registered names that are used at shows!

I had an Appaloosa colt many many years ago, he was a beautiful dark brown, almost black looking like Indy with an almost full white blanket. I got him at about 5 months old. He was born on May 1st and his Momma’s name had “Tuff” in it. I named him May Day Tuff and called him Nick. Gosh I loved that baby. That was over 30 years ago!
For Phin - RS Applejack Flats (Applejack is another name for brandy and Flats refers back to grandsire, VS Flatline)
For Petey - RS Hay There Hennessey (Hay for the sire, Hennessey as a brand of brandy/cognac)
For Penelope - RS Barnkat Assets
For Finn I think it would be so cute if he was kept a stud and named him “RS Good with the Girls” I think this would be so cute
Lol I can’t get the name that popped into my head for Fin out.. you said his parents names and I’m still laughing.. the name that instantly jumped into my head as ‘good and Randy’

I had a blanketed Appaloosa that I got as a yearling. He hadn’t been named and registered when I bought him so I decided to name him But Naked.
I also bred a mare and she literally carried for 368 days. My vet said if she didn’t foal by Monday morning, the conversation was on Friday, that she needed to go to the university nearby and have a section. She had him Sunday night.
Since she carried so long I decided to name him ‘Bout Time. Cause it was ‘bout time he decided to enter the world.
I have registered dogs too. I love coming up with registered names!!
Suni is going to be the best therapy horse 😭😭 I’m so excited to see his journey!
Probably my favorite registered name, because he was my first horse that I owned and showed in 4-H, was Bay Bee Bear. 😊

I grew up with my family breeding and showing Peruvians. Their registered names are required to be Spanish. It is most common in Peruvians to have the breeders/ranches initial at the beginning or end. We have had many and most of their barn names are just the name without the initials. It's also cool knowing the meaning of their names. One of ours was bailadore del sole (dancer of the sun) we called chips. Then me heart horse was Sable KP (saber/sword) her daughter Seda KP (silk).
I just love these name and bloodline videos. Just all the way up my hobby alley.

Our OTTBs are Cruising Bullet aka Dublin and Caminaconloscodos his name translates to walking on elbows so his barn name is Elbows, our Morgan is Dark Angel, our Quarter horse is Dodo and our mini is Jack Daniels.

Thanks for sharing! I love the lineage of quarter horses. My mares registered name was “Lil Miss Goldie Fox”. Just like you said, the “Fox” came from her mom, and grandsire “Two Eyed Fox”.
I had an appendix quarter horse growing up and she was by Skip and her show name was Skip's Country Sis :) I loved it and even funnier my maiden name was Skipper lol.

My last QH was named “Kings Poco Bar Bee.” Barn name Barbie”. I’m guessing you can figure out a few of her blood lines from that name. My favorite pony from when I was a kid was a welsh chocolate palomino named “Cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs.” She had a baby “silly rabbit trix are for kids.”

I have a bay OTTB gelding named Ghost to Ghost. His sire was named Ghostzapper (who was the winner of the Breeders Cup years ago). Love to hear horses names!

My daughter, who is 11, says that you should name Penelope, RS Kat’s got the Assets!
I also think you could do RS Western Wonder for waylon because western and wonder could be cool key words for his babies

We breed Morgans and our last baby we had out of our 1st broodmare whom we called ladygirl, we ended up naming him "Lady's Last Hoorah" the registry loved it when we spoke to them on the phone

Hahaha!!! I actually had a horse who’s barn name was “BOB “!! His registered name was Raider Bars Poco. I don’t know how he got his barn name but it totally fit him. My barrel horse was Downtown Joe Brown. I swear he was the fastest horse alive!! I was in the IPRA and won a lot of money. Thinking back, I wish I would have went pro but I had other obligations so I really couldn’t. I had lots of others but I won’t bore you any longer!! You have a beautiful place out there. I’m up here in Nashville. It is beautiful out there where your farm is.

My first ever horse was a registered Arabian gelding and his registered name was "Geo Mr. Prince". I'd have to double check his paper work but i think the only reference to his parents was his Dam's name was "Princess Comaraz" or something along those lines. I'll have to dig his pedigree out of his memory box someday!

I used to raise Appaloosas and I actually enjoyed coming up with Registered names.
I grew up with Arabians (my grandpa bred, showed them) and we had Bahrownek (grandson of Skahrownek) Ashabahu Polka ( from Mia Polka) and Shylo's Artex were the ones I rode the most. I also had a Morab named Misty 😂😂😂
I'm so excited to know that Suni is going to be donated to an Equine Therapy organization!! This is my first time seeing your channel. One of the questions I was going to ask you was if you are involved in equine therapy at all....and then you told us the news about Suni joining a team of therapy horses! I was involved in it for years in St. Louis and since moving to Louisville I am involved here. I love it! I hope you will give us updates on his new adventure. God Bless Therapy Horses!!

When I was 10 yrs old(in the 80's)my parents bought me a registered 3/4 Arabian 1/4 Quarterhorse that was 9 months old at time of purchase. We were told that his registered name was, 'Rosie's Jadie' but he went by his nickname...'Squeak' ❤

I leased a mare who was registered as "To The Moon Mary" with the Jockey Club, and at the track (where she was NOT successful) They called her Mary. She was so not a Mary. We called her Luna and showed her under "To The Moon". Was also looking at a friends horses pedigree as she had an absolutely terrible registered name and my thought was call her "Ima Flying Sock" I think I might have to use that one myself one day. Another friend has a gelding whose registered as " Mr Blackburn Frost" And he is called Sluggo!

My family's horses' registered names were Shah of Giza(AHA), Low Raff Red Start (AHA), Dominos Sir Buddy (APHA), and NJS Magnificent Miad (AHA) :) Miad was my first horse of my very own!
I love all the show names. We had a poodle we named similar. Her mama was Taffy le Grand Fidget and we named our dog Lady Chu Taffy ❤

I love show horse names! When I was a kid I leased a horse named "A touch of Magic" her barn name was magic. And then we also had a horse named "High Sea" barn name Ara.
My niece had a horse named Lucky Little Pistol, and we called her Pistol 😊 and she was far from little, she was almost too tall for their trailer

My sister had a mare registered, “Reefer Modness” (Bar Flower x Pine’s Codalena) Her barn name was Gucci. She had 3 foals for us. A gelding reg “Cassidy Cache” (Mr Touch O Class x Reefer Modness), A filly reg “Gotta Lotta Cache”, and another filly, “Juana Mambo” (My Leo Mambo x Reefer Modness) Sis kept “Jane” for 20 some odd years and bred her once for the gelding Sis still has, “Light Juan Up” (Light Crude x Juana Mambo) Names are wild. We managed to get a couple of cute and catchy ones in there.

Gracie has some good names in her pedigree just looking online. Bar, Poco, Hancock are a few. On her dams side there’s a lot of Sonoita but I haven’t looked into that line a lot. Her sire is/was Blue Leo Man and her Dam is/was Lstar Lucky Best.

I had a horse that his barn name was Blaze.... because you guessed it he had a bright white blaze on his face lol.... however and here I have to do a back story kind of, so he was a Paint/Quarter mix. He was all chestnut with a white blaze and white socks... let that sink in for a minute.... where did the paint side go??? His body was solid chestnut LOL So his registered name was Bare Essentials LMAO and no I didn't give him the registered name he already had it when I bought him but I think it's so funny and I loved it!
I had a dressage horse, I was just a kid so used her as a paddock pony so i dont know what her registered name was but her barn name was Funny Face ❤️

My Grandparents generously bought me my very first horse at 10. He was a retired racehorse. He was me first love and he was 2 year old Thoroughbred. I named him Kody and his registered show name was “DAKOTA BLUE”. I had him until he was 25 ❤️ I miss him so very much.
First horse I owned was Peppys Pudden aka Peppy. My current horse is Zip Me Up Fleur aka Ditto
Growing up we had paint quarter horses. Our Stallion "Ty" was Titan's Gold Flit and we had a yearling we called Dude but his name was St. Valentine and he was born 2/14 he was red and had a heart on his face.
We had a buckskin mare we named Big mama but she was registered as (knightly)Nightly Potion not sure which one.
We never showed them. Ty was shown on halter at 13mos old and won his only ever show. I was 9 so i have zero memories of that stuff.
