- Theodore Postol is Professor of Science, Technology and National Security Policy in the Program in Science, Technology, and Society at MIT. He did his undergraduate work in physics and his graduate work in nuclear engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. After receiving his Ph.D., Dr. Postol joined the staff of Argonne National Laboratory, where he studied the microscopic dynamics and structure of liquids and disordered solids using neutron, x-ray and light scattering, along with computer molecular dynamics techniques. Subsequently he went to the Congressional Office of Technology Assessment to study methods of basing the MX Missile, and later worked as a scientific adviser to the Chief of Naval Operations. After leaving the Pentagon, Dr. Postol helped to build a program at Stanford University to train mid-career scientists to study developments in weapons technology of relevance to defense and arms control policy. In 1990 Dr. Postol was awarded the Leo Szilard Prize from the American Physical Society. In 1995 he received the Hilliard Roderick Prize from the American Association for the Advancement of Science and in 2001 he received the Norbert Wiener Award from Computer Professionals for Social Responsibility for uncovering numerous and important false claims about missile defenses.
I cannot understand why he would still vote for Biden just because he doesn't like Trump. The last 4 years have been among the worst of my life.

Russia has autonomous republics within its greater federation. What NATO and the Western world has shown time and time again, is that having a neutral buffer state is no longer a viable solution. Look at the situation between China and Russia, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, and North Korea serve as buffer states and that is enough for Russia to feel secure in its Eastern flank. NATO violated not only the Minsk accords, but the promise made to the Soviet Union if it allowed for the reunification of Germany to occur. Realistically, Russia will have to swallow the entirety of Ukraine and break it up into various provinces within the federation. Let the Poles and Germans deal with the Banderites because more than likely, that is where they will flee too once this is all over.
This current war has even shown that NATO's military application of Romania, a historic buffer state between the Tsars and the Ottomans is a threat, so therefore, Russia must incorporate Transnistria, followed by Moldova.
Voting for the lesser of two evils perpetuates the political duopoly. The only solution is voting for candidates of third parties.

It doesn't matter what Khrushev did. The only way to deal with the conflicts is international law. Crimea is occupied by Russia. Gaza, West Bank and East Jerusalem are occupied by Israel. Referendum in Crimea was a sham.

Most cringeworthy interview i watched in Dialogue Works, but not a fault of Nima (my apologies). I watched this twice so i can accurately articulate my reaction. Who is Ted Postol anyway? Physicist, Nuke engineer. MIT Prof, Whoah! A Master of the Universe! Each burp from his mouth is worth a million fiat, baby!. In Nima's last interview, he confessed he is not an expert in History. In this interview, he becomes a psychologist/psychoanalyst of Putin, geo-politics, "Istanbul-Plus" expert, an economics expert on Russia, a bleeding heart "you manufacture a $5 weight loss drug and charge people U$1,000, that's capitalism out of control.". I remember an old Prof of mine who brandish all his old journal articles to new students just to gain a credo and little bit of tenure. Be kind to your old Profs boys and girls. When this war is done, Ted Postol's epitaph would read: "Here lies Ted, He said Russians cannot see incoming missiles from space". :-)
Interesting interview, but was left with a feeling of under estimating myself. Most people figure out in secondary school that the easy way to good grades is agreeing with the teacher.

This is an excellent interview. I’m becoming really impressed with Professor Postol. Even when I disagree with him on something, I still respect his opinion because it is based on facts and honest and rigorous analysis.
For someone like him who so values intellectual honesty and rigor, dealing with dishonest morons in politics, media, and academia must be so frustrating.
