Texan here … People don’t understand we got 20-30,000 people stadiums out here. State championships get 25,000+ easily for each game . Shits insane . Love it here
I watched this as an east texan and said, well our stadium was big but wasnt that big. Apparently not. The city population is 7,000. Stadium capacity was 9,000
My roommate at UT moved from California and said he had never seen so many Junior Colleges with football stadiums in one small area… I then let him know those were high school stadiums and they weren’t really that big compared to some, he then thought logically well they must be an amazing high school team to have a stadium like that…. I quickly googled the high school we were driving by and found out they were not good… 3A no state championships and were 1-5 that season from my quick research… He then just quietly said “I…. I dont think i will ever fully understand Texas..” and then just sat quiet for the next 15 minutes until we got home…. and honestly that was the first time i had ever realized how insane the stadiums are😂
6A is the highest in New Mexico too, and games against texas teams were crazy (we were right on the borders, 20 min from tex, 30 min from OG Mexico). Highschool games would have to use the college stadium and would have more fans in the crowd every time.
@thouwow4284 we were some of the biggest high schools in the state and we would only play backwood Texas schools so it went either way. An old greenbay lineman (Darius Holland) went to the rival high school across town), he played football in highschool with one of my highschool coaches.
Crazy seeing someone from LC in the YT comments. I just found out they changed Oñate to Organ High School. Never got a chance to play y'all, but we always tried going to the games when y'all came if we had Thursday game.
football down here is just different easiest way i could put it. like in my school district we don’t play at our school fields we had separate stadiums that held easily 5k a piece. good times lol
Texas highschool football is another level the stadiums look like college team stadiums from the outside (theres even a restaurant at the one in allen seperate building sort of situation but it's attached)
I went to eastern 2019-2023 and the tailgates were always bumping. Though nothing compared to the homecoming games. To his point, more people tailgate the entire game than going into the stadium lol
I was in North Texas with a friend driving and I said oh what sports team plays at this stadium. He goes dude that's high school. They are not lying. Those high School stadiums in Texas look like damn near professional stadiums.
My cousin lives pretty close to a huge school called west valley I think. Bunch of nfl players have come through it, dude lives like 20 min from it in Austin tx
Imagine being under more pressure and spotlights in hs then in college😭 The hs was making more off tickets and merch sales then the college that’s crazy
Buddy of mine went to a huge Texas high school and came up to play football at our tiny D3 school in the northeast. Actually went from 10,000 + in the stands per game to about 250. Breaks my brain to think about that many people watching high school games
Yeah bro. We did football different. Wake up and get to the field by 9 in the summer, we didn't leave until 11 sometimes midnight. Back at it again the next day
I’m not even joking when I say shit my senior year I had to drag players from eighth grade onto the football field just to field a team so we could have a season. We only won two games.😂
I looked up the highschool from wiki on Google maps. It's called Colleyville heritage highschool and the field only has 1 bleacher on each side. I don't see how they could fit that many people on 2 bleachers. Unless they have people sitting around the track or they had another field. Anyone know?
I figured it out they play in a stadium a few miles away that they share with another highschool it's called mustang-panther stadium. That other field must be the practice field or the JV field
I wanted to move to Texas so bad during my high school football career. I’m stuck on some shitty team in Massachusetts. Literally shitty team. I was the best player. I ended up getting a full scholarship to a local college, but I blew it because I was partying too much lol I always wonder if I was able to move to my uncles in Texas would I have focused more on Football. He was trying to get me out there, but my mom said hell no😂
Thing I don’t like about this is that Texas people think they love football more just cause their state has more money. Yea, it’s really cool and impressive the level of commitment the state has to its football, especially compared to states with similar populations. But on average people in Mississippi or Louisiana or Georgia love football just as much as those in Texas. It just shows more for them because of cash.
We also have a very good understanding we don’t need a education. We can graduate and hit the pipeline a month later and learn how to truly work and make alottttt of money. Why would I ever need a education? You’re paying off highschool and college debt? Crazy, couldn’t be me.
@loganpinner5212 yes yes , let's just make our children future alave laborers and nothing else. Texas schools are great, the problems is ALL OF THE BUDGET GOES TO FOOTBALL. Leaves little to no room for other programs that reach everyone else. These stadiums are built off the lower class who'd be working during these football games. The culture in texas has become warped by the fake Texans who thinks blindly following make you a Texan. Forgetting the true meaning of what it is to be a Texan.
@@loganpinner5212depends on what your goals are tbh. Some people want money, some want knowledge, both valid and both have different paths to get there

Forgetting about San Antonio Spurs

Stars starting to get a solid fan base
Don’t forget fall football and spring football
Allen High School’s stadium and team in Texas is crazy. When I was in high school and we played them they had Kyler as their QB.
I was in Kyler’s class. Those games were so fun when you got a first rounder leading the way lol
They also have the goat General Booty grace their field. Went to Prosper HS and played with Cade York kicker for the bengals. Texas just breeds studs
We played against Kyler his senior season. That MF ain’t 5’10 I know that.
Allen lost to North Crowley though

@@its_jjk with that logic, same with College and Pro games.

Being a 14 year old freshman and making the team must be crazy to play in front of a crowd that size.
i’ll never forget visiting texas and being absolutely amazed at how much they support high school football i mean it’s crazy
Born and bred Texan here. From Weatherford TX. Even a mid sized school is wild on Friday nights. Damn near whole town shut down to watch.
I watched this as an east texan and said, well our stadium was big but wasnt that big. Apparently not. The city population is 7,000. Stadium capacity was 9,000
They turned shit up at EMU though after they started winning, homecoming was def crazy before the pandemic

My dad grew up playing football in Allen Texas. We like in OK now but we go down for games multiple times a year because it’s really an experience.
6A is the highest in New Mexico too, and games against texas teams were crazy (we were right on the borders, 20 min from tex, 30 min from OG Mexico). Highschool games would have to use the college stadium and would have more fans in the crowd every time.

I grew up in Michigan but im a Texas boy lol he played his college football at Eastern Michigan they named the football field after him
That got me too lol
Did he say Per diem???? 😂
😂
He's been hit in the head his fair share lol
I mean some high schools do receive per diem for trips. Food, gas, and hotels aren’t free.

It's a town event, the small town people support the high schools. The entire country would be better if that attitude was everywhere.
Eastern Michigan is 5 minutes from The University of Michigan. Even Eastern Students would tailgate and hang out at Michigan for football games.
The picture of people in the stands is the high school i graduated from wtf😂😂 we're nobody how tf did we even make it on anyones social media😂😂

To be fair. El Paso is damn near New Mexico
I went to EMU .. it should be moved to a D2 school.
I went to CMU and worked for the football team. Samson evans got something to say about that lol
Our stadium had 100ft of bleachers and the mayor played acoustic guitar before big games. Same thing.
