Not only did I LOVE the lyrics you wrote for this, but what you did with it vocally is pretty incredible as well :) Your voice really has this powerful tone to it, and with the deep chorus you added behind it (also your voice, I assume), this song was simply overflowing with amazingness. Thank you for putting so much time and effort into this video :D Looking forward to future videos, and hope you have an excellent rest of your day!
Are the ending lyrics to the song ("Let the puppets come and go; dragged about, to and fro; never catching the phantoms you've borne") references to the "fake Ganon" fights in Wind Waker? Because if so good on ya that was pretty clever writing
oh my gosh I love this so much. I've always loved zelda music, and windwaker's music is always one of the most...identifiable? Them winds and drums. I love them so much. And those lyrics are so catchy. The chorus sections felt like the lil worms that pop up to distract you, while the main melody was carried by molgera itself. Now excuse me while I go listen for a few more times. Homework can wait. (also can I mention I really like that it's mostly knight of the winds instead of hero? It's just different and yet fits and I like it.)
Also adding: The World Will Never Change -- it'll only turn. Oh how true that is. Time goes on in the zelda universe, but at it's core it never changes. Granted it's something I rather like about the series, that the narrative core remains constant, and the story is molded around it in new or different ways. But I just wanted to point out that specific line jumped out at me as very appropriate.
Wow, the song is great! Not to mention the lyrics as well! *But the worm tho* *ugh* And I thought the Wall Of Flesh from Terraria was gross. Are they really look like that in the game?
I wish the musical part was as perfected as Undertale the musical, but when it comes to the lyrics, this is perfect. From where I see it, this is thé kind of legends that the goons of Ganon sing and, frankly, it's brilliant. Thé références to the cycles with the hystoria and thé référence to rails and drought, thé fact that this tale will always bé retold... Also, what's Said on the conqueror Worm seeing a world to devour reminds me of Lovecraftian monsters like Cthulhu (here it would be Shu'de Mele if i'm writing it correctly). I must say, i was not convinced by all you did, but I love the fact that you try again and again to expérience new stuff. Keep at it mate, you're one awesome Man on the internet.
DragonRyd3r (holly shit how late I am) Maybe you have found the answer by yourself , but it's the autocorrect with french words (and it's painfull when you're French and often write comments in English like the "in" turning into "un")
Okay, I don't know if this is just me, but I'm seeing a lot of references to other Zelda games here. Here are a couple I noticed. "Will soon go off the rails". Obviously, this is Spirit Tracks (also known as my first ever Zelda game) "The memories you recall - In time you lost them all" One major element of Breath of the Wild is that Link gets memory loss. "Never catching the Phantoms you've borne" Phantom Hourglass, anyone? "The truth of our historia now revealed" ... Dunno if this would count, but the Zelda timeline and its many branching paths after Ocarina of Time. Wind Waker came about after Ganondorf being sealed in the temple of time and the world went about as usual... that is, of course, until Ganondorf escaped.
If there is one video that perfectly represents your work, this is it. This is quite possibly your best video ever. "The princess with the goddess blood, and her knight. For all through history, they always seemed to be, the ones who'd stand and fight for the light." Hinting at the cycle of reincarnation the Triforce wielders go through. "Their wisdom and their courage seemed so divine, they lacked the will to see how bright power shines." Obvious reference to Ganon using the Triforce's power to take over Hyrule. "We watched the kingdom fall, the water drowned them all." Hence the Great Sea. "Goodbye to the hero of our time." Molgera's gonna kill the Hero of Winds, but while he recognizes the lineage, he refuses to honour him as a true successor of greatness beyond blood. "The conqueror worm." Even I never noticed the references to Edgar Allan Poe's poem until recently, and the subtle phrasing takes this cover to the next level with double meaning. "I come from the land of fire and sand, I've taken power into my hands." Thanks to BotW, we know Molgera's kind is native to the Gerudo land, and here he's allied with Ganon and killed off the Sage who gives the Master Sword its shine. "All that I see is a world to devour." Molgera is simply a creature of pleasure. There is no bigger goal he wants beyond consuming for himself. Even though he's painfully aware of the grander schemes, he doesn't care. He's the conqueror worm at most. "One day, the great floodwaters may well recede, and time will be at the mercy of the thieves." Molgera is looking to history of the Hero of Time's era when he acknowledges that the cycle will yet repeat further. "A sentimental tale will soon go off the rails." Some fourth wall humour. Not every Zelda game is a winner, and Molgera is skeptical about how Link continuing to repel Ganon is ultimately good or sustainable for anyone in the long run. "Short lived was the knight's victory o'er our king, for he returned, and he brought back suffering." This hammers home Molgera's percieved futility of the matter. The Hero of Time won, and it still didn't matter. "The memories you recall, in time you lost them all." Molgera is unrelenting in telling Link that he's lost what heroic potential and life he once possessed. He's pointing out that Link suffers as well from the cycle. "But still and all the tales that we sing." I'm convinced that's a typo for "But still in all the tales that we sing." This is a transition back to the legends in general. Even if Link can't recall the bigger picture, the world can. "Wind will blow, this we know, let it flow, let it reap all that the kingdom sowed." Like Ganon, Molgera finds the wind to be no more than a brutal aspect of nature. It doesn't help that he, like Ganon again, views its wielder/advocate as incompetent. "The horror of this plot, come back to the self-same spot, never to be forgotten, oh no." At this point, Molgera is pissed at the unending repetition of the cycle, and is venting. "Covered up in veils, and drowned in tears." Tetra's bed in Ganon's Tower is ringed by a see-through curtain, and both her and Link mourn when the King drowns. "The world is just a play of our hopes and fears." Calling out the series and poem, I see. "It's like a gala night." Or some other form of entertainment, like a game of some kind. ;) "A dance to the music of the spheres." And not just the spheres the Spirits of Light are. We have gods and golden goddesses watching. "And now among the rout, a new shape intrudes, to bring the end of your scenic solitude." This is the moment Molgera has been waiting for. Also, he's interrupting both the Triforce wielders' private war and Link's island life (the latter indirectly, and not solely, but still). "And in the kingdom's blood is imbued." Once again says how Molgera is merely a performer of this play, one of Hyrule's mortal creatures. "Out go the lights on quivering forms." Like the lights the Sages stand in as they play their music. There's no light shining now that they're dead. "You weathered the rain, but never faced the storm." Perhaps this refers to Link fighting the Helmaroc King and learning of Hyrule but failing to best Ganon. Or it could mean his success against Ganon even though he can't hold Demise back for good. "Let the puppets come and go, dragged about, to and fro." I mean, that's what the stage performers are in this case: The gods' puppets. Even Ganon has one. "Never catching the phantoms you've borne." Finding the real Phantom Ganon reference aside, it's not Demise who always does more damage, it's _his_ phantom, Ganon. You can't even stop the Ghost Ship in this game, you need to play a whole sequel just for that effort. "Your history will never be free of pain, in time our lord and king, he will rise again." Besides just being a savage diss, it bluntly spells out Link's eternal doom. "Another tragedy, a long-retold story, and once more you will fall in the rain." Molgera sees no happy ending in store here. Poetically, Link nearly drowns as Hyrule is flooded for good, and even the Hylian Champion nearly bites the dust near Hateno while it's raining. "For all of us were locked away, signed and sealed, the truth of our historia now revealed." I just realized that he's talking about the rest of Demise's demons, like Ghirahim and even other evils, like Malladus. Only thanks to Skyward Sword and Hyrule Historia can we now connect the dots between all of the monsters locked away in those infamous dungeons. "But at the end of days, won't matter anyway, for at the end we're all a worm's meal." Molgera has a final moment of clarity as Link kills him, resigning in peace that his failure doesn't weigh so heavily since it's a part of the show, which is in whole controlled by bigger forces. Observing the dual plays, he may be suggesting that he's found no one to be without a greater predator, probably trying to break through the impenetrable resolve of his puppeteers and berate their superiority complex out of spite. In his last words, he cements his distaste for Link's cause, and draws upon worm symbolism like before to comfort himself and possibly attempt to relate to his world as he copes with leaving it in death.
I love these Legend of Zelda songs, Alex! You can hear the story. And I don't mean in the way that it's a song with Lyrics, I mean in the way of the music. And it's perfect. Poor explanation, but it's the best I could do.
I feel like the Chorus is either the drowned residents of Hyrule, or Jalhalla, who is one of two Protectors of the Seal, which makes sense, because Jalhalla is made up of many Poes and is the boss you fight before Molgera.
Man, after your lyrics were done and the song began to fade out, it felt completely different without your powerful voice and only the flute- it was such a change!
Ho-ly-shit. This is a fucking amazing lyrical, in a song I didn't think would benefit from it. The lyrics feel so natural, and flow with the song perfectly, telling their own story that I can believe. I wish to give this the title "The Wind Through the Flowers" because of how good that line is, in context of the song. That said- I'm fully aware you don't intend to take requests, so I simply offer the idea to maybe give Bellumbeck from Phantom Hourglass some lyrics- I'm sure it would benefit just as much.

Many parts of this song were taken from Edgar Allan Poe's poem, Conquerer Worm, including that line about the puppets.
