Most peoples freezers freeze colder than the directions, which means you may need to allow it to defrost for a good 10 to 20 minutes before processing. The lid getting suck after processing is an indication that is was too frozen and needed to defrost.

To begin with, Ninja's instructions expressly instructs to crush fruit to release its juice before processing.
