- Hey everyone!
Link to valve adjustment video on same Stihl FS130R trimmer! • Stihl Pro trimmer REAL...
This is a quick video showing how easy it is to replace the purge (primer) bulb on a Stihl FS pro trimmer. This will work for many different models (and makes!) as long as access is similar.
Purge bulbs degrade overtime and crack when exposed to sun, ethanol fuel, etc.
Hope it helps!

great video stihl repairs are simple when you know how thanks
I've done a few of these over the years on my own equipment , the bulbs themselves ( of this style ) come in two sizes that I've seen , either 19mm or 22mm which is the outer diameter of the flange , last one I did was the day before yesterday , plans of trimming some thick grass under a fence line in the morning changed to replacing the bulb and a fuel line , still got the job done but a bit later in the day ;-) . Cheers Dave , you're doing a good job there , all the best .
Hey Gordon! Great to hear. Thanks for the kind words!
Quick and easy fix! Great work Dave, and thanks for sharing.
You bet! Thanks for watching!!!
Thanks, though I needed this today (video year+ old) so glad I found
Thank you! It was quick and easy.

Glad you enjoyed it EB! Glad to see you back!
Thank you Dave, perfect !!PERFECT!!! Would be better if I had a "I can fix things " man in my house !!! Lol
Nice one Dave. Worth the 100 bucks bud.
You think? I'm going to keep it around. I have a couple of these powerheads on different implements... they seem to work well. My favorite is still the FS85R 2 stroke!
@@DavesSmallEngines They work very well but Im still a two stroker fan with the higher revving stuff.
Primer, prime my engine primer meister, primeeeeeeeeeeeeee for a good time! Yes sir! Easy replacement. And yes, I notice everything, like the engine start and run being 100% identical to your last video lol.
Ha! Good eye, as always, Stellar.
That should give years of great service now!
Fingers crossed!
I have an FS40STIHL WEED EATER I NEED TO know how to get the Flippin back off to change purge bulb
Do you have to drain the fuel tank before you do this procedure?
Greetings sir, I have a cracked purge bulb on my weed whacker also. Could this be the cause of it not hitting the high note at full throttle?
I've been dealing with a cracked bulb for 2 years. I wish I know how easy it was to fix it.
Is it the t27 x 1in or 4in
Thanks for the help, Dave. Just what I needed to know. (Now all I need to find out is where to get a replacement pan-head screw--IS-D5X20, or equivalent-- for the shroud, which I stupidly lost by taking the thing apart in the back yard, so the screw is now somewhere in the grass.)
Magnet on a broom handle mate
Should have thought of that. THANKS!@@stephenleslie2037
Where do you get these machines in such good shape . Good video .
Hey Chris! Have to look around!!! I feel like it's a full time job.
Yep Those primer bulbs are easy to replace.
Yessir!
OK Dave, so I ordered the Purge bulb, they came yesterday. Now I go to remove the Shroud , And what the heck kind of wrench do I need now ? Its like a 6 sided star, but it hugh, and my weed eater is a FS94R, It looks like I am going to have to take off the PULL STARTER STUFF, to get the shroud off ??
It is a Torx T27 bit. Google "T27 bit".
Was that a Honda Passport there in the background?
Yes sir! Restored it last winter. Had been in a barn for 20 years!
