Always in awe of how you can fix things. You never seem to lose your patience when something isn’t going together as it should. I would have been throwing things across the room. And the bulb does make a cute cheeping sound
HAHAHAHA Ohhh You're the best Jo Lynne! I get a little bent out of shape sometimes.... Then I just have a Mt Dew, and re shoot ;) I should have just squished the bulb for 5 min straight.... Thats more my style haha
Very helpful . Toro trimmer was missing connector hose from carburetor to primer ball. Could not figure it out . Visual nailed it - you saved the day. Funny too! Now back to trimming. 😅
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching! hope you subscribed

Let me try again and to install clear bulb i have into the old black plastic holder. I tried to separate with blade, will have to use a knife or flat head. Thanks for showing it can be done.
@@PilotJon thank you for your counsel, sir. Trying to guide an old trimmer into it's golden years. I've got a primer bulb and carburetor diaphragms on order. Any other possible causes? Perhaps a new spark plug could help...
I know this is a couple years old. Hopefully I get a response from someone. First off. Thank you for showing how to remove the ring on the bulb housing. Second. I replaced my primer/purge bulb, carb and fuel lines but I’m barely getting any gas into the bulb. Did I do something wrong or am I missing something?
@@PilotJon they are. It’s funny how anyone could mix them up. I use my finger to double check the pressure. One sucks and one blows. Lol So my weed eater is a Troy bilt TB625EC I picked up used. But I figured it out. The lines I got from the fuel line replacement are too big for the connections. Then it kept stalling due to the exhaust. Removed that and runs. But… Now the engine won’t stay running when I tilt it forward. The fuel filter is in the front of the tank. Which faces forward.
I laughed at you trying to reseal the Bulb as I've been there and tried that and like you the task does not work. A real DOH moment on my behalf Pilot Jon. I'm confused as to why they are made that way. If you look carefully at the short pipe from the bulb you will find the word 'IN' so it pulls fuel through the carbie using the vacuum created when the bulb pops back into shape. The long leg is the return line which your finger will when depressing the bulb, squirt the fuel back into the tank. Please think of it as clearing air from the carbie and not pumping fuel to the carbie.
yay for fellow cheapskates. my bulb base has pressed in brass & stainless(maybe?) check valves. i don't know when they migrated to that red flapper mechanism but I can find the metal orificed ones anywhere.

Exactly what I was looking for, thank you! FYI - I replaced just the bulb and super glued the retainer ring back on. So far, so good!😊

Could a cracked primer bulb cause a weed whacker to notnhit the high note at full throttle due to a vacuum leak?
I’m going to say yes- it’s possible that the vacuum could suck air through the cracked bulb while the engine is asking for more fuel.

Thanks for this, super simple. Problem; it isn't a $10 part anymore haha.
The part worked for my black max trimmer
I tried to do the same thing by separating the plastic and putting a fresh rubber piece inside. Once separated you just can't close it back up again.
Clip the bulb holder in first, then connect the hoses.
Sweet. Thanks
No problem! Hope it helped!
Thanks
Thank you, I thought I could do that . The ethanol in gasoline melts the lines and bulbs
Thank you for installation of primer ball
You know it's hot when your literally pouring sweat over the handle and hands.. could have sworn you were in Florida!
Hahaha yeah- we have a “dry” heat here in Az… 🤣😂 but heat is heat!!

Make sure your fuel lines to the bulb are on the correct side pressure vs vacuum
